I love my deck. I have a habit of buying the new consoles and the last couple years I’ve been getting gaming laptops for couch gaming. I buy games but never finish them. The steam deck has been my favourite console/pc from the last 5 years. Being able to pick up a play all my old steam games I always wanted to finish but never did has been amazing. I’ve finished half life 1-2 and almost done gta5. It’s nice to not be obsessed with the best tech and best graphics for once and just enjoy a good game. It’s making me see that the best graphics don’t mean anything. A good game is a good.
That’s exactly how I see it. It’s not the best performing handheld but it’s so nice to use. I’ve been using mine almost everyday since I bought it. Currently replaying Elden Ring and going through my first play through of RDR2. I’m loving it.
By far one of mine too. After 120+ hours of playing Elden Ring, I bought it again just to experience it on the SD. There’s something special about playing games like that on the go.
I got my oled finished halo reach , halo , halo 2 + halo 3 in a month😂 now im on shenmue 3 . Its my main console . I also have a ps5 but my kids are on it more than me so i downloaded the chiaki app and now i can stream my entire ps5 library to it aswell
@CristianSilvagnoli yeah same it's like a constant back catalogue isn't it but in an awesome way . I've tried it maybe 3x to stream my ps5 library to it and it worked fine. Was playing Spiderman 2 on it the other night
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Ive been flirting with getting the steam deck these days as im finally finishing up my switch back log. Im now craving more powerfully run games.
I have a steam deck. Last month i have buy it. Now i am playing ghost of tsushima or mortal Kombat on it. Its so crazy. The newest game is sonic x shadow Generation. Its so much fun to play it on the deck. 😅
Just waiting for my delivery, it's in "packaged" status so watching videos while waiting 😂. I'm really looking forward to emulation even though I have 800+ games in my steam library.
I haven’t tried emulation yet, but I can relate to the feeling. Before ordering mine, I think I watched every single video there is on TH-cam. 😂 You’ll love your Steam Deck.
I think these handheld gaming machines are amazing. I have x box rogue ally ayaneo and laptop gaming pc and have just bought razer kishi which is gaming control for my I phone. I actually love game pass ultimate. I can play on x box through my 60 inch lcd tv - then on the go play on my rogue ally or razer on my phone using cloud gaming or just continue gaming. The gaming industry has made a mega leap in last year in terms of what’s available to play on. I also love steam. I actually bought ayaneo over a year ago because could not get hold of steam deck. Cost me mega money. The rogue ally and steam deck are fantastic value for money.
I agree. It’s crazy how far gaming has gone, especially handhelds. I haven’t tried cloud gaming yet, but I’m looking forward to try Black Ops 6 on the Deck from my PS5.
Thanks a lot, man! Halo MCC runs great on the Steam Deck, especially the multiplayer. It brings back many memories from back in the day playing XBOX & XBOX 360. However, it looks better on the Deck. Lol They’re Ray-Bans. ✌🏻
me too, especially that i can run switch roms (on a better performance too lol mind you) and while i do miss having some mario kart online matches and the booster pack (ive been struggling to make dlcs and whatnot function) i dont think i could ever buy an other handheld ever again. Pc handhelds are where its at
The only reasons I keep my PS5 are because of the occasional multiplayer session and because my fiancé is lately into gaming. But yeah, one of my best purchases too!
same i was debating between the 2 but the ally x has a 400$ disparity in my country compared to the deck. Opted for the oled deck and couldnt be happier, im sure i wont miss too much from the ally x
I think the Steam Deck 2 won’t be released in a while, according to what Valve said. They’re waiting for a bigger leap in tech for significant hardware upgrades but who knows how long that’ll be. I would buy the Steam Deck on Black Friday if you find a good deal. 👍🏻
How was Steam OLED better to ROG Ally X? I think Ally X was better in many way on hardware department expect the OLED display. Ally X with Bazzite OS, has everything you need on Steam OS. Does that mean you prefer OLED only?
SD simply has more community support and a wider range of features. Biggest for me is the trackpads, literally a game changer for a mobile PC. Second is the gyro controls and 4 extra buttons. These options combined with how robust custom control schemes are opens up the range of titles that can be played in this form factor
Steam Input has community profiles on the Steam Deck and it's hard to come back from that to just generic controller mappings if you're used to it. The Gyro support is also insane.
I just got the lcd and i love it but since cod in game pass I've just been play my rog ally. These devices kind of make me question whether the switch2 will be relevant for me in the future, Unless my son wants one
I’ve been thinking the same. The Switch 2 has to be incredible to compete with these new generations of handhelds. Even though Nintendo never sold games based on graphics/performance, even with basic games, my Switch OLED struggled with frames. Hopefully, Nintendo surprises us.
@@CristianSilvagnoli sure , everytime i turn ps5 or the pc on , i just got lazy to play a game but Steam Deck is different 🤣 , i'm playing it a whole day
I’m personally waiting for the oled to game on sale (hopefully) around in November, maybe around the 1 year anniversary of the oled models release or Black Friday. As for game recommendations I have for you, I would say Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and also the original FF VII.
It’ll be awesome if they do a sale the SD in November if not, I’ve seen very good deals on eBay for refurbished units. 👌🏻 I’ll check them out! There’s a couple of good sales right now and have a few in my cart already.
