Good luck desoldering the NES power board ;)
Fun stuff. I learned A LOT of what to do, and what NOT to do with soldering by doing that as one of my first soldering projects!

    6:30 - TRP here!
    - 1- The DEMODULATOR will use miniDIN 9pin for RGB (genesis 2 style) + miniDIN 4pin for S-video, the same way my "NO CUT" version of Borti's NES I/O did.
    - 2 -Since there are different versions of the RF module, and nobody agree about the circuitry, the audio/video circuit is on separate PCBs, so people can their own version if they are not happy with the default one,
    - 3- the DC barrel can be replaced with a USB-C module (which would need an USB-C 9V wall charger compatible)
Also, I'm trying to do something for getting SNES Multi Out connector.
And of course everything will be open-sourced :)
    Cheers!

So many developments this week! Thanks for reporting on all this. I think the power solution stuff is a couple of years too late for me, but great to see anyway. Also I'll be interested in the video switcher and Retrotink developments, but later on down the road.

That PSU thing is really interesting. I keep all my consoles plugged in all the time and I need like 2 power strips. It'd be nice to be able to have most that stuff replaced with a single plug coming out of the wall.

The FDSKey is pretty interesting. I have an FDSStick which is similar - it uses the FDS RAM Adapter to plug into a Famicom. You can also write disks with the FDSStick, but you need to modify the actual Famicom Disk System unit to disable the copy protection. The mod procedure varies based on the type of drive that is inside Famicom Disk System unit. I wonder if they figured out how to do it without any modifications using the FDSKey.

nice! Pico W with Bluetooth also makes gp2040-ce arcade sticks to be Bluetooth too!

I picked up a PS2 Slim at a thrift shop recently, and unfortunately its PSU is one of the early ones that was recalled. I was intrigued at the prospect of using it on many consoles with something like the 'PSU' splitter but I guess I'll be on the lookout for a replacement first.

Saturn Din Ten sounds like a Star Wars kinda name 😅.
The reflex products sound exciting, I have adapters to use many controllers on my pc, but an “standard” and centralized way would be way cleaner!
And I’m with you regarding blue retro, I’m not really into using a ps5 controller to play GameCube or Dreamcast, I’d rather mod my original controllers or buy a not working one and change the innards of it.

I'm with you, I love blue retro but I cannot get over the mental hurdle of using a non-OEM style controller. An 8bitdo drop in replacement for Dreamcast would be great!

Dreamconn+ is a wireless Dreamcast controller. Very expensive but works like a charm. Even has VMU support.

if they pico could come with a small amount of memory we could get swiss on there. that fds key is so cool.

I really hope GC BBA support becomes more of a priority if new BBA replacement devices/alternatives become a thing. I love having my consoles on network. Especially if one can load games through network/NAS. I’ve struggled to get FSP up & running on the Cube though. Hope it’ll get easier later on =)

In terms of a Bluetooth controller for the PC-Engine/Turbografx-16, you'd probably just use an NES controller, they are basically identical in terms of button layout. Though I've seen a 3-button controller that might be replaceable with a Genesis/Mega drive one!

The Xbox One bluetooth controllers are absolutely perfect for use with the Dreamcast. I have a Brooke adapter but the form factor sucks, I'd love a more compact blueretro adapter.

    gamecube online adapter looks cool.
Hope retro tink 4k turnes out good. Wonder if it will allow a old PC hooked up to upscale. everyone has 4k TV's now. Now if the cable company could understand that?
retro adapter would be cool. my buddy needs it. his controller port got messed.

With the PS2 Slim PSU Distribution Block can you use a similar 9V power supply other than Sonys?

I like 'USB-C' when it's just 9 or 5 volt but my issue is with the USBc PD protocol it's not really standardized correctly... it's all over the place my friends laptop 💻 would not charge with my 'PD IF' cable why? that is BS. I used multiple bricks from Amazon

    • @JLMtime
      @JLMtime ปีที่แล้ว

Is it a good idea to put fading retro console with old caps on power device that could change its voltage ⚡️ maybe if Bob dose testing first. THEN I'll use that brick

If he says much more to $499. It’ll likely be $700+.
