The dedication that is put in these specimens are truly remarkable. Most of these plants are passed down from generation to generation. Each generation sculpting and defining their plant with the next generation to take over. Remarkable what determination can accomplish

Some interesting colourful pots, not the usual formal look to them. Many of the Juniper's, had more of a bonsai tree look them, than a full size tree look to them. I couldn't imagine these trees in a real life setting or imagine a scale to them. They were beautiful trees, but I miss the miniature magic with them. The Ficus trees were really outstanding, they captured the image of a mature full size Ficus really well, I could imagine me standing underneath these old trees. It is interesting that they don't have any aerial roots hanging down from the branches. Maybe they thicken up too much and cause the branches to loose their taper and fine ramification? A fantastic show, thanks for being there and recording it for us!

Probably these junipers are not sufficiently refined for its aesthetic taste.
Is it possible that if the Taiwanese Bonsaist had introduced some small plastic animal, zebras or perhaps lions toy , the aesthetic content and the scale of reduction would have been more understandable to you?

I like the literati at 9:08 and the forest group at 9:43 the best. All the others, although technical marvels with a high novelty first impact, I can not imagine myself as a little bird flying through the branches of those trees as they have been so overly stylised and top heavy that they have become synthetic. Atleast, that is how I perceive them.

Thanks again Bonsai empire for taking us along to stunning Bonsai that we otherwise would have never been able to see! Some amazing and a bit different than we usually see from Japan Bonsai! It is great to see that every country or nation has a different approach and species to style their Bonsai. Some are truly amazing and very impressive indeed! One thing that I don't like that much though is the leg of maturity of the topsoil layers in almost all the Bonsai in this video. The one tone brown colour of the fresh akadama surface and the obviously recently planted mos look a bit artificial to me. I don't know if it is because they have to repot a lot over there or if they just like it like that? But the soil should be more mature and more natural looking in my opinion. But that's just me....and I would not mind at all to have all of them ....or even one! :)
    Cheers,
    Hans van Meer.

My mother, RIP, bought a bonsai tree some 40 years ago. It cost a pretty penny even back then. She kept it inside. I kept telling her, _"It's a tree. Keep it outside and only bring it in for special occasions."_ She didn't believe me and it died within a few years.

This kind of trees remind me of my grandfather who passed away in China all the time. He loves Penzai, we don’t call it bonsai.
