      This is so true. Before any of that took place he lost his mother his only caregiver to cancer in elementary school. He recalled playing basketball for something like 24 hours straight at the neighborhood courts after discovering she passed. This man is a fighter and a survivor.

    Wish Lamar lots of love and all the best with his recovery and you all questioning his treatment, he has doctors, family and friends on his side, just wish the man well and hope he gets better…. He needs encouragement, not discouraging….

      @Jane O'Leary no, he doesn’t. Do research before you attack a person with a disease you don’t understand.

    • @KathrynCeleste51
      @KathrynCeleste51 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jane O'Leary, unless you or someone you know, has been in Lamar’s shoes, you have no right to freaking judge him or his course of treatment to help him get better….. BACK OFF…..

    • @dylanturner3216
      @dylanturner3216 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Jane O'Leary just get off of this tread, your ignorance does not warrant a response. Your obviously hate filled bile has nothing to do with what Jesus taught and your judgment can cost people their lives, I speak from more experience than you’ll ever have. Seriously, I will report your comments as dangerous if you say another ignorant word. Just be happy for him. What he’s experiencing is real, science based healing.

    Ketamine is some strong stuff. I was given some for sedation before I had a central line put in because it's painful when they don't wait for the numbing stuff to kick in. I hope it works for him. All that matters is he's sober and it's controlled.

      I believe in God, but I also believe in medicine. They are not opposite from each other. Not everyone should do certain things, but I will be doing research on this. That's like saying cancer patients shouldn't have chemo because they need God. God is the healer, but we all have taken medicine at some point. We all struggle with different things and mental illness is no joke. It is truly the hardest thing I've ever gone through - hell on earth. I hope my faith gets stronger, but until then I will research physical ways to cope with what I deal with from years of severe trauma that have altered everything in my life, especially mental health.

    • @dylanturner3216
      @dylanturner3216 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just as ignorant and dangerous a statement as any drug. Why is the evangelical community so unwilling to use the science that God would certainly be big enough to create if it is indeed all powerful? If you don’t understand addiction just don’t comment.

      Do you mean Elijah McClain? Or was this someone else? I believe Elijah was 23 and was the kid who played the violin for shelter kittens in his spare time, killed by police for “resisting”, even though there was no legal basis for stopping him in the first place. They handcuffed him, injected him with a fatal dose of ketamine, then put him in a choke hold, which caused a heart attack and ultimately death. Some of the same police officers later “recreated/re-enacted” his choke hold and death, while laughing, at his memorial.

      Don’t speak of what you don’t know anything about. I’ve been on spravato/eketamine for 2 years. The treatment has saved my life and helped me process the suicides of my parents. The treatment resets synapses in the brain that get shut down by trauma. You wake up with your pre trauma brain and have what my dr calls Cognitive Flexibility as opposed to a progressively myopic ability to see solutions to problems. There is a line out the door at my clinic in New Orleans and the success rate is staggering.

      How do you know ketamine wasn't part of his plan to help. I have CRPS. Medications don't come from thin air. They come from humans using their brains and the earth. Everything can be abused. A screw driver and a hammer can build amazing things but they have both been used to take lives. That doesn't make the tools wrong, bad, or not useful to many more people.
