On a certain level, we have a drug store in our brain, the neurochemicals that show up in flow: so dopamine, norepinephrine, anandamide, endorphins, and serotonin. If you were to try to cocktail the street drug version of that, right, you're trying to blend like heroin and speed and coke and acid and weed- and point is, you can't do it. It turns out the brain can cocktail all of 'em at once, which is why people will prefer flow to almost any experience on Earth. It's our favorite experience. It's the most addictive experience on Earth. Why? 'Cause it cocktails five or six of the largest pleasure drugs the brain can produce. We're all capable of so much more than we know. That is a commonality across the board. And one of the big reasons is we're all hardwired for flow, and flow is a massive amplification of what's possible for ourselves.
This series is great, but I feel it is too one-sided... I miss the view of specialists on the other side of the story, it makes it all sound like guru talk or and ad..
@@freethink I agree with the comment. Also, I've never heard anyone other than Scientologists say all drugs are bad. Certainly not Nixon, even with his faults.
Disagree with you characterizing this as “guru talk”. For one, legitimate gurus have much greater wisdom and energy to transmit. They are OPEN, not one-sided
I noticed in a video they talk about the current antidepressant drugs anti-anxiety medication and so on. I have a story to tell. first and foremost it's not the drugs that are the problem. The drugs work I'm living proof It's how the drugs are used in modern society. When I was going through my tough time my psychiatrist used the drugs as a stopgap. I was in a very bad place depression anxiety I was even contemplating suicide. My psychiatrist put me on the medication I'm not going to say which one and I started to feel better but there were terrible side effects. But what was most important was my psychiatrist told me that these drugs are only temporary to get me out of danger. He monitored me closely but during our sessions he actually was trained in psychology as well as psychiatry. We talked about my problems metered my medication and what the medication did was allow me to actually talk about my problems and to think coherently about them. once I started to get a grip on my problems he started to wean me off of the drugs very slowly. I will admit there were a couple of times that he needed to increase my dosage however every time he did I was able to get a better grip on my problems until after much hard work I was finally able to face my problems without the use of the drugs. The major problem with most psychiatrists these days is they prescribe the medication and then they tell you to stay on the medication and don't work with you to actually solve the problem. however doing it at home alone like this is really scary This type of treatment needs to be done in the presence of a professional. because I promise you if it starts to help somebody alone they're going to want to do it twice as much or three times as much until eventually they're going to go too far.
Thanks for sharing your story, and totally agree talk therapy is important as well as medication. You are also absolutely right that Ketamine has the potential for abuse, and that risk will have to be monitored carefully alongside its potential therapeutic benefits. pdf.sciencedirectassets.com/271056/1-s2.0-S0361923016X00068/1-s2.0-S036192301630123X/Yu_Liu_ketamine_abuse_2016.pdf
Idk about ketamine, but I am sure as hell you didn't try classic psychedelics. There are some people who will do it all over again as much as they can, but psychs have like 1-2 weeks tolerance reset time, meaning you can't do them more often as they won't work that well and also the experience is so overwhelming that doing it "twice as much or three times as much" is not really an option if you are thinking human being.
@@mylegispotato It's almost like they have a natural protection mechanism (classic psychedelics). You do them too much, they stop working. But they are not neurotoxic, so doing a higher quantity (think of MDMA) won't destroy your brain. They are self-regulating, requiring you to have a pause in consumption to be able to experience it fully again. Beautiful.
I have a prescription for ketamine, it has been a life changing drug for me. I couldn’t imagine not taking it as prescribed. I do feel the way they’re handing it out like candy through Joyous is going to ruin at home ketamine treatments. I get mine from a doctor near my home.
What an amazing life story full of wisdom that you had to share. You are so right. They stick you on the antidepressants and that is it. Done. Most of them think that is the sum total of treatment. They do not have the intention for you to get off. Fabulous and scary that your psychiatrist was so strict. I cannot IMAGINE AT ALL DOING THIS other therapy at home, if at all. I don't know anything about it...that is why I am trying to educate myself. Confusing....this issue somewhat scares me. I guess everyone has their own level of comfort.
This video needs more care in handling the topic. It sounded like an implicit endorsement for ketamine addiction. Could have spent more seconds acknowledging overdose risks etc Just saying

Dear Russian citizens. Please keep sending your forces into Ukraine to get chopped up into mincemeat. The more you do the weaker your army will be. It's a party in Ukraine.
To that lady who quit all these pleasure altering drugs with the help of it who said that she will keep doing the treatment I also want to ask what if we took the ketamine away, would there be withdrawals, would your mental state go back to where it was before or even deteriorate now that you can't reach that same high? It's clearly highly addictive, a little like how americans used to advertise this magical pain medication that drove people into addiction, forgot what it's called at the moment. It also reminds me about the experiments that we used to carry out in the world wars where we tried to use a combination of stronger drugs and therapy to rewire the brain. That sometimes resulted in irreversible damage and the experiments stopped since it was seen as ineffective and harmful to the subjects, if they changed it was usually for the worse. There is no such thing as a free lunch or a miracle pill, it will alter your brain chemistry in the long run!
You’re misinformed about ketamine and psychedelics. It seems you think ketamine is a daily dose like the daily big Pharma pills which people have been taken daily for decades… ketamine is once every other months, so most people would at most take it 4x a year. Cystic Fibrosis is a tough thing !! Wish you peace !
6:38 you aren’t shepherding the movement, people have been using alternative drugs for mental health before you were born and will after you die.
Glad you liked it, and thanks for the feedback; we'll share it with the team.

Could have spent more seconds acknowledging overdose risks etc
Just saying
That's fair. Ketamine definitely has risks and it is important to be aware of the potential for abuse and harm, espeically if you are taking it for therapeutic reasons.

Yeah, this is not going to end well. We live life well by confronting our challenges and fears, not drowning them in mentally-altered states.
You can literally hallucinate objects and beings into existence because what's happening is you're tapping into that pure abstract creative potential of mind. That's exactly what you want. Of course it can be kind of freaky but a psychedelic is that times a thousand.
Never heard anyone say all drugs were bad. Nobody ever.
Well, two days ago @premiumGenx basically just did. 🙄
Only 5% of people experienced ANY side effects….. yeah ok sure… could MAYBE say that about severe side effects, but no way in hell for ANY

Definitely ANY side effects
I want to try because I have really bad anxiety sometimes but I can’t even handle the blunt let along some psychedelic drug
Does it have withdrawal symptoms, also does one exhibit progressive tolerance levels the more you use it?
Ketamine is potentially addictive, and withdrawal after a user is dependent can be uncomfortable, so it's important to use it in a controlled fashion. More information: americanaddictioncenters.org/ketamine-abuse/ketamine-side-effects
@@freethink thanks for the info
But if it has withdrawal symptoms and progressive tolerance levels wouldn't it be bad in the long run and moreover won't people get violent during those withdrawal periods?
It doesn't matter if you use it as prescribed, you will still have withdrawals
Small doses and under medical supervision should be fine, it's really only a danger if unsupervised and the come down effects at least for me were like a mild flu (I was a K addict)
Ketamine is at some times additive but on a small scale ⚖ that's why it's a schedule 3 narcotic it has almost no abuse rate but please not Tylenol is also additive and far more dangerous

Ketamine has really really helped a lot of our practitioner's patients at the Wellness Brand Accelerator. Unlocking the subconscious and shifting mental patterning.
Unpopular opinion, but if they made opioid prescriptions more available it wouldn’t be near as many fentanyl overdoses. Been clean from hydo and somas for 4 years but sometimes I would give anything for that feeling to where I want to buy off the streets.

@@ems7623 The same what your politicians are
To that lady who quit all these pleasure altering drugs with the help of it who said that she will keep doing the treatment I also want to ask what if we took the ketamine away, would there be withdrawals, would your mental state go back to where it was before or even deteriorate now that you can't reach that same high?
Compare that to the daily pills. Now you say it is addictive … which isn’t true as you can see in studies if you did your research.
