Sound design was probably the worst aspect about Black Ops 2 (sans hackers), and if that’s the worst of it, there’s good reason BO2 is held in high regard imho.

I mean the fact that you put the handguns to have different sounds immediately makes it better. IDK why Treyarch used THE SAME EXACT SOUNDS on each handguns besides the revolver.
It's based on a real gun called the taurus judge that use .410 bore shotgun shell, it's made to be small but powerful side arm There is variant called "Raging judge" aswell that fires the usual .410 bore but it's can also chamber .45 colt, .45 Schofield and the powerful .454 Casull, I don't why you would need .454 Casull for personal defense but it's there Extra trivia: in the early stages of development the exicutioner in BO2 is named raging judge but it was changed, in the final release it is still referred as raging judge in the game files
@@lambn25 It’s actually based on a cancelled 28 Gauge variant of the Raging Judge, which was meant for export into the US but was canned due to it falling under the “short barreled shotgun” NFA category, meaning there were more legal loopholes for your average joe to jump through to get it than with any other gun, including Taurus’ own .410 Judge. Nothing kills a design for the civilian market faster than falling under an NFA category, especially a more heavily restricted one.

@@camarokidbb4347 its true that the pistol sounds are the same, but what i mean, these sounds doesnt fit the weapons and the graphics of the game the ones on mw2019 fits so well with the amazing animations and the sounds makes them perfect, in this one the graphics, colors, and animations makes feel the sounds kinda out of place

BO3 has more or less the same sound design as BO2, and is much more varied between guns (excluding the SMGs for some reason), so what I don’t like the most about BO2’s sound design isn’t the sounds themselves, but rather how much they’re re-used. Makes the shotgun and explosion SFX from BO1 look like they were used sparingly in comparison.
im assuming since theres so many reused sounds in the game, alot of the reloads reference the same audio files, meaning if you replace it, itll be the same issue just with a nicer sound instead of generic plastic click sfx

They were probably running out of space on the disk, can't think of any other reason for ditching all of the sounds from BO1.

Good sound design can really elevate okay animations, and lousy and mediocre sound design can really drag down good animations
