Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (2011) was originally going to have a post credit scene after the Ending that setup what would have been MW4. However, this was cut by Infinity Ward and only a few files remained from this cut ending. This became one of the biggest mysteries in Gaming until 2024, where the ending has now been fully recovered thanks to @yoyo1love ! I only thought it was a hallucination of the deceased Imran Zakhaev as Price slowly draws his end or passes out.
yeah I thought so at first but he does not have any beard like Zakhaev had so it's kinda out plus he has left arm.
I thought this too. It’s like Price would not be able to find peace after everything he went through, despite it being all over. Him dying would be the only way to find that peace.

I heard from some people ghosts was originally supposed to be a Modern warfare game. If this theory was supposedly true. This would mean that if the cut ending was true, the ominous man at the end would probably either be the villain for the next game. Given that allegedly Ghosts was supposed to be A MW game we can suspect it to be Rorke (TO an extent).
Another theory that could sort of make sense given that the asset used for the ominous man seems to be from the "Turbulence" mission. This could potentially mean that the ominous man is infact a FSO officer who was likely surveiling the entire mission,"Dust to dust", and only walked to the room only to confirm that Makarov is actually dead.
That wouldn't make any sense since MW3 took place in 2017 and Ghost's Odin Orbital Weapon fired on the U.S. in 2016, leading up to the present in 2026.
@@Mercer2024 it was 2017 I'm pretty sure?
@@Mercer2024 plus I'm talking of the concept. Originally in the early stages ghost was supposed to be a mw game
@@moizv4771 Had to actually look it up.
Yeah, so im misremembering I guess. I feel bad since I have made this other comment on other threads. Oh well.
Yeah so MW3 takes place early 2017, January, and Ghosts takes place in mid-2017. However, Odin wasn't built until 2017.. so if this universe was to be connected then this would violate SALT I and II treaties as well as a ban on space weapons which the U.S., USSR/Russia agreed to. This would make the U.S. an aggressor which is interesting. However, that leads me to ask.. why isn't this mentioned in Modern Warfare? Why isn't it mentioned that all the world's oil reserves started dwindling due to the oil field in the middle east drying up?
It just makes no sense that these events suddenly happen in MW/Ghosts if they weren't mentioned prior.
Plus, Infinite Warfare is canon within the Modern Warfare trilogy timeline so.. Ghosts makes no sense at that point since it would've taken years for the world to rebuild since The Federation was "the sole superpower" according to Ghosts.
Either way, sure.. maybe the concept says they're connected.. but it's non-canon.
@@Mercer2024 nah dw abt it bro
He look like he wore Hudson's dark shades
I got Hudson / mason vibes from the close up of it
Yes.. im also feels like that.. they both look almost similar

@@SirBacon8180 In COD BO Cold War there was this character named Jon Price in the 70s-80s, so it might be connected

I'm wonder if Infinity Ward made this secret ending just in case they decided to make MW4. I bet they decided not to, to keep it a trilogy and not risk ruining the storyline and legacy with a 4th game. I think they made the right decision, but i bet a MW4 would have been amazing. I still play Ghosts to this day, and am not mad that was the game that followed MW3.

It definitely does not look like Yuri. Yuri got shot in the face, and the clothes are completely different
From a writer’s perspective, this scene can only be speculated as an entirely new game’s storyline happening in the same universe, not called MW4. By this point, Soap, Yuri, Ghost, Price, Sandman, Shepherd, Makarov, and Zakhaev are all dead, the stakes have been settled. You can’t write an immediate buildup to another act in the same story without nullifying the just finished climax’s payoff. In the most rational sense, it could only be the continuation to CoD Ghost or something entirely separated from the original trilogy.
Damn, so the bald guy is probably rorke

Could the mysterious figure be Anatoly from MW2? The guy that picked up Makarov in the ambulance; also, on the evidence board in Back on the Grid, he is not marked as killed.
I think it's one of Makarov's henchmen during the "No Russian" attack on Zakhaev airport, because the suit looks exactly like the one's they we're wearing. It just popped into my head just now, and he was looking at the hanging corpse of Makarov and Price sitting their and just left unaffected by what he saw.

Or the devil himself.
No? Since when has modern warfare delved into the paranormal or supernatural? It ain't zombies my guy
All be it not officially confirmed, I just realized now that it’s heavily implied the captain Price more then likely passed away very shortly after his fight with Makarov. Maybe the cut scene is the grim reaper welcoming Price to the afterlife, hence why he drops his cigar right after. Idk, just a little theory.
This is beautiful. I wish we could get these gems more often. Restoring Cut Content is absolutely insane amount of work

I think this "Shadowman" guy is the actual mastermind behind Makarov's terroristic actions, the one who comes up with the plans and tells Makarov what to do. The true secret leader that stays in the shadows, pulling the strings behind the curtain, with Makarov being the second-in-command, and would be the villian that you would hunt down in Modern Warfare 4 if it was actually made. I'm glad this was deleted and that MW4 wasn't made. Modern Warfare 3 wasn't perfect, but the ending was very satisfying and a great way to finish the story. Continuing it would just be very unnecessary.
Makarov was supposed to fulfill the roll of mastermind in the shadows behind zakhaev from COD 4. Wouldn't really make sense for there to be a mastermind behind the mastermind behind the original villian.
We already had the mastermind, and that was Makarov.
No need to extend it any further, and I'm glad they didn't it, this ending is very satisfactory, which is something you can't say about many franchises out there
@@brett9382 Yeah, good point.

The new modern warfare trilogy is such a disgusting and extra shameful insult to the original trilogy. This took me back to my childhood and all memories of the OG trilogy. I wish we could get good games again. But thats an impossible task in the cesspool that is modern culture.

Honestly, it was probably a retcon as there were no loose ends within the MW story that could fill it. I'm glad they didn't.
Actually, it really does look like Rorke. If I could post a picture for comparison, I would, but I cut the video up and edited the lighting, and looking closer at his face in slow motion, it definitely looks like Rorke.
I feel like if mw3 got a remaster this should be the new ending as it honestly just fits, all task force 141 gone, metal team gone and since billy Murray retired a few years back it would be a nice close on the casket for such a good franchise
That guy could be an anonymous benefactor, it was mentioned in original MW2 that makarov is "a mad dog that works for the highest bidder" could be that the shadow man was the one pulling the strings of Makarov to start WW3 and likely for profit, what's better to profit from a war than to get a psychopathic mercenary to Stoke the flames on your behalf? And another thing, dust to dust is set in dubai in a fancy hotel, where rich people often go to do their dealings.
Should’ve stayed as the ending instead of being cut form the game
I might be mistaken but one of those sounds sound like one of the ominous sounds that was used in the mission in BO1 when Reznov talks about the mission project nova
The fact that Capt. Price was originally dead at the end of the series in the hidden post credit would give way to another potential MW4 but was eventually scrapped and left it as a Trilogy, made it looked like he survived as he pulled out his last smoke before the credits were rolled.
For that cut content post credit to exist in the game files, clearly indicates a potential MW4 back in the day, but I think the devs decided to end it there or it was that year that the OG devs of the series were fired due to the conflict with the management and eventually having RESPAWN to be born few years later.
It actually might be OVERLORD, coming to check to see if Kingfish was done and over.
It might actually be reboot Shepherd, he and the OG MW2 overlord have the same voice actor. Suddenly he's actually a villain also working with the Ultranationalists somewhat
In my opinion, I think this was supposed to be a connection to Ghosts since that game was already being storyboarded when MW3 released. I think this scene was meant to be a sort of torch-passing to the next new storyline, since this one was wrapped up with all of the major characters dead. The reason for it being scrapped is that Ghosts ended up being a completely separate timeline and so the connection would've been total nonsense. MW4 was never really a planned thing as there's literally nowhere the story could've gone after Dust to Dust, but having a scene to tease you for the next IW storyline would've made a lot more sense. Just my theory on the cutscene.
Ik it sounds stupid but what if it’s Nikolai since he was assisting Yuri and Price in that mission and it’s possible that he could be a double agent since he was spying on the Ultranationalists in previous games
Nikolai is not bald
You guys need to think of a character that is bald and wears sunglasses all the time and is an American CIA Agent working for the government. It has to be no other then Hudson.

absolutely INSANEEE!!!! Makes you wonder what else we havent found yet...
This all feels so surreal. As if its something we were never supposed to see.
A mw3 ending from an alternate universe where mw4 happened.
Totally makes me view even the cannon ending way differently. What an amazing find!
I actually like makarov being the final villain. The trilogy ended perfectly
If the "Shadow Man" is someone who's already been shown previously, my mind goes to one of two people:
1. Anatoly (the ambulance driver at the end of "No Russian"). He is never seen afterwards and there is nothing to indicate he is dead.
2. Alejandro Rojas. Yes, the player has the option of executing him, but his ultimate fate is unknown. Perhaps keeping him alive was the canon option and he was saved by Brazilian Militia members after Task Force 141 left. Also, it would actually make sense for him to be there considering he was an arms dealer for Makarov.
It really make sense that Anatoly was the one there. Afterall he save Makarov ass back in MW2
Nikolai? I mean he’s the only main character who hasn’t died and was a big part of the trilogy. Checking up either on Price or to make sure makarov is dead.
Nikolai ain't bald he can be someone from either Russian agent or American or can be one of Ultranationalist who somehow survived the assault and knowing that all TF-141is dead the Ultranationalists can continue with their plans or can be just price's hallucination
That audio and someone appearing in the background tilting their head genuinely gave me chills. I would like to speculate it was ghost who survived as in a mission based in London, Sgt. WallCroft, is voiced by the same actor as ghost. I’ve always considered ghost was secretly out for revenge.
