Paolo much love from the states! I can't leave dude to illnesses and I'm so thankful I get to see different sides and lives ofJapan! And the beautiful japanese people!
I love that Yusuke and his dad work with a giant smile on their face. Looks like they love what they do and take pride in their work! Just like Paolo! 🤠
Everyone is so good looking! Even the dad is so fashionable! Since Yousuke used to be a drummer, he can multitask very well by cooking several okonomiyaki at the same time. Keep this series going!
Haha! I also noticed on how good looking they are, just like a restaurant from romance manga or anime such as Tokyo Mew Mew, and so on. I've just imagined that Yusuke will meet his wife at the restaurant, a woman who really loves Okonomyaki.
The father is so cool and dapper, the son and the staffs are all handsome, this is basically a visual restaurant and both the people working there as well as the food! 😭
I find it very cute that all the workers dressed like they work in a yoshoku restaurant. Most of the time when going to an okonomiyaki restaurant, the chefs go for the a lighter dress (t-shirt, happi coat, apron and hairband). It can get quite warm near the plates! Okonomiyaki is usually considered 'junk food' so this is different.
The dad is vibing, he's got a lot of class. When he said 'he's about the nights' I fully believed him. That members only restaurant is a scene for sure.
I just love how you weave the story behind the owner and the staff into these shows in addition to showcase the food and the place itself. Most other Japan food channels almost exclusively showcase the food, but the best part of your video is how you humanize the place and makes it super interesting.
That's almost why I prefer small mom and pop type of places. They are usually smaller so you get to chat with people's a little bit more. I get my morning latte from a lady who runs a coffee stand at a gas station. It's half the price of the same thing at Starbucks and just as good to me. It's nice chatting, and sharing pictures of our animals and stuff like that. Plus getting it from a place like that has other benefits. For example if I forgot to take cash out, since she doesn't do debit, she will still make me a coffee and I will just pay her double the next day.
Excellent interview and review of this small shop. I loved these places when I was there years ago - it was a great price and so friendly. The families take such pride!

yeah the visual value in this shop from the Dad to the most recent help is pretty damn high in this place. I am guessing there's a consistent female fanbase of this place lol
They definitely earned that nap at the end! Fantastic video! It was handy that he had to get so much cooking in before the customers started arriving so you could get those sweet close ups!
I love to see how Japanese works, it seems they are passionate and give a good vibe in things that they do. I even can feel the vibe by only watching it also like how u interact. Hope one day i can go to Japan
Awesome video. The father is insanely charismatic! I was grinning through the entire video. Guess this place goes on my list next time I'm in Tokyo to visit.
Japanese people are so polite. I worked for a Japanese company years ago, and everything at the company was 1st class. The CEO would talk to you like he was your friend.
Good to see younger generation taking over and continue the business….hope able to visit Japan freely by this year… its almost 2yrs+ since we last visited
I didn’t need to say what I was thinking when I saw those owner and son and staff because the comment section already said them. Kudos paolo for always giving us quality and interesting content !
They all seem to be so nice, energetic and friendly people. You can see they like their job and they love other people, too. It must be an amazing place to work at. I hope the owner will meet the perfect girl soon! He deserves to be happy 😊 Also, as someone in the comments has already written - they are all extremely handsome! A perfect combination, as they all seem to be kind, friendly, dedicated, hard-working and handsome... What more can a girl ask for?
Thanks, Paolo! The owner and his son have beautiful smiles. I love how these videos are part behind-the-scenes, part dating profile. How old are you? What do you like to do? Do you go to the aquarium alone? LOL. I love how Paolo is helping them with business and love :)
Yusuke is so handsome and charismatic, i want to volunteer to be his wife 😭😭 and his dad is so stylish! What a great vibe that restaurant has and everyone looks so nice and cheerful
From USA… I am in love with Paolo from Tokyo . You are the one and only that amazingly getting deep behind the kitchen and presents the video so well and interesting. Thank you Paolo 👍🙏❤️
We have few okonomiyaki restaurants here in LA but I really feel this is much more authentic in Japan of course~ Thanks for another awesome video, have a great weekend! :D
I don’t know if it’s a requirement, but Paolo seems to always find the most charming/interesting people to interview. Do you have a casting call? Having a boss that looks so suave, the pressure to look as suave and expensive must be high. These family owned shops are something I marvel at, several generations having the same passion and deciding to continue their family legacy.
Okonomiyaki was something I always looked forward to when I was a kid. There was a ma and pa shop that my auntie would take me to and they always made my own "special" okonomiyaki, which was just a smaller one for my size. I always loved watching the bonito dance on top. This video brought back a lot of warm happy memories for me, thank you Paolo! I can't be in Japan now with my family due to COVID and work, but I am thankful to have a look back at my childhood and seeing how things have changed (or remained the same) thanks to you and your videos!
Yusuke and his dad have the same beautiful smile and eyes that sparkle. I always wonder each time I watch one of your videos if you are offered to eat the food that is being served?
This must be one of my favorite videos, a family business just hits differently, you can feel the care in every detail. My mom runs a traditional restaurant where i helped since i was 5, it was my grandma's and it will probably be passed down to my big brother, kinda frustating :( blessings to Yusuke and if he wants a girlfriend that he can run the restaurant with, I volunteer
I love this series, and especially this one. A nice story, superb ambiance, craftmanship and showcasing how you can make a superb meal using few ingredients.
Love your videos. Always well made and have so much great info. Thanks for making these videos, even after all the private issues you have had. Thanks.
Does Japan have surprise health inspections like USA and Canada? The son is a very organized chef … very talented and I m so impressed with the constant clean as you go ethic.
Generally speaking, surprise inspections are rare--usually only when triggered by a specific complaint from a customer. Restaurants like this with an open cooking area tend to be more conscientious about cleaning and hygiene, but occasionally older restaurants--mom-and-pop places--can be remarkably filthy. (I remember working in a ramen shop in Waikiki decades ago and getting dinged by the health inspector just for leaving the ice scoop in the ice machine...) And Japan hasn't instituted any kind of health department public rating system for restaurants like some cities in the U.S. have done.
From what gather from a different documentary all restaurants get a twice a year major multiple inspection(each for Fire safety, water and sewage check, food safety, pest and insects check, restaurant staff safety test) to get a renewal. Then there's monthly casual sanitation inspection.
@@inisipisTV From what I know after living here 22 years, that seems unlikely at best. I've run a bar here for 4 years, and we have yet to see an inspector of any kind.
IN JAPAN "THERE IS NO SURPRISE VISIT AS in Canada when it comes to health department official visit to any food retail stores, hair dressers,etc... and any businesses dealing with people physical contacts ( please check the "CITY OF TORONTO HEALTH DEPARTMENT INSPECTIONS) and it is quite amazing about the power they have to keep you open or shut you down and FINES.ANY business HAVE to display sign "on their store front window with pass green, orange under scrutiny/fines, red you are close, how do I know,32 years in business.I used to know a small French bakery " IN TAKAYAMA JAPAN(my favorite city in Japan) called " NICOLAS BAKERY " parallel street to the JR STATION 5/7 MNS WALK away and the owner told me ,back then they get a letter at least with 2 weeks notice " so you will never get red handed, this bakery is gone may be 10 years ago or more, another baker took over
It’s another interesting and engaging video. Paolo has a talent for finding interesting and charismatic people for his videos, along with choosing subjects that have broad appeal. I wish the US would be more supportive of family owned restaurants and businesses in general. We have far too many mega chain restaurants that serve generic food, and the family-owned places just can’t compete. Regional cooking is getting lost under the weight of all those chains as well. It’s sad, and I wish we cared more about the independent owners and our food culture.
America has serious problems with laziness, greed, a lack of honor, radical individualism, religious extremism, disregard for quality, etc... Japan values the opposite of all that. While Japan isn't perfect it's far better than the US
My daughter, who just turned 32, (and single) ☺️ said she would have to do takeout at this restaurant because she would be too nervous to eat there because the chef is so good looking. 😉 💕💕
I think I know why I feel so good watching these videos. It's because of small things hidden between the lines such as: a business passed down from father to son, boss arriving first and working harder than the staff, everyone nice with each other, a lot of discipline and care with the work, the treatment of the customers. This is what a society that hasn't fallen apart culturally looks like. I feel like I've been robbed for not having that around me, I want to sue the boomers and the gen x for ruining things before I arrived
Okonomiyaki has always been my favorite Japanese ‘shomin-ryori’ (庶民料理, or ‘common people’s food’.) Fast, cheap, and actually decently well-balanced food since there’s a ton of cabbage it. It’s also customizable, since you can fairly easily swap out one ingredient for another, so it’s good for vegetarians…as long as you’re not too picky about fish-based ‘dashi’ in the mix. Oh, and it’s good with beer. 🍻
I see no reason that the Osaka style takes 30 minutes to cook as it is mostly two layers, the Hiroshima style takes longer as it is layered separate. As for vegan that could be tough as both use egg as a batter, and Hiroshima has the additional fried egg layer. As much as I enjoyed Osaka okonomiyaki, the Hiroshima with clams was amazing and the eateries were much livelier with Toyo Carp paraphernalia and team member pictures all over the small places, along with games on TVs .
@@AcridWhistle Yeah that doesn’t really make sense to me either. I think it only takes about 10 or 15 minutes at my local place. As for customizing to make it vegan, that could be tricky. (I have a feeling that a web search might turn up a solution, but not something we could request at a typical restaurant.)
@TravelerPat I know what you mean, I think the ‘restaurant service’ approach is relatively new. (My local places give you the option to have it prepared for you, or cook it yourself at your table.)

I love the food culture in Japan. One of my biggest regrets of returning to the States after living there for a long time is that the food culture in the US is no contest - there's just not much pride if any at all - there are some exceptions of course.
Teppanyaki chef def. is one of the most rewarding restaurant jobs. Customers don't expect to get food as fast as possible, the entire process is part of the experience

It looks super tasty 🥹🌟 Everyone is so good at what they are doing; I hope one day I can fly to Japan and eat all this delicious food! As always the best videos 🙏✌️
What I have noticed in these videos is that every manager of every smaller family like business does not hesitate to get whatever needs done done. There is no job beneath anyone. Oh and he sounded like he was proud that many people learned a craft there and went on to their own business. Not to say in the USA that never happens but the person often acts like a crime has been committed in their former staff leaving to pursue a similar business
I had okonomiyaki in the States and in Japan and I can definitely tell the difference between the two. Japan has simple ingredients but they really know how to build flavor, and it's my all time favorite

okay then, I will give him a head start to see what His capable of making.
The most amazing thing to me about most japanese people is the pride and confidence most have yet they are still modest
everybody that works here has amazing hair, and Yusuke is so handsome! he really resembles his dad☺️
My thoughts exactly! 🫶
Everybody is good looking even the wait staff lmao
Is the hiring criteria is great hair? Haha
Yousuke is a split image of his dad. they all are good looking, there smile light up the room. i can not tell you how many times i have watch this .. 🥰 hello from the states!
indeed a hot episode. delicious foods, awesome ambience, and hot young chefs. hihi. and to see how they encourage their worker to open up their own restaurant someday wahhhh.
it was a hot one!
Nothing was as hot as that firefighter episode. Omg that guy was hot
100% agree
@@TomCook1993 The Japanese mechanic was also hot. Especially when he took off his shirt at the beginning and wore those tight pants. Damn! 😂
yeah the visual value in this shop from the Dad to the most recent help is pretty damn high in this place. I am guessing there's a consistent female fanbase of this place lol
He’s handsome, hardworking, easy going, and knows how to cook; he seems like quite the catch. 💕😊
The Japanese work ethic always inspires me. 😊
For real very diligent/ hard-working people
"I am a man of the night"
I love the dad! Such a class!
All of these guys seem like genuinely fun people to hang out with
We ate at this place last week. It was amazing! Thank you for showing us this great restaurant!
I absolutely love these videos. Hope your wife and wolfie are safe and healthy ❤
I can't get over how absolutely adorable Yusuke is! 😍
I'd go there every day!
creep
Damn creep
The owners are very smiley and happy, so nice to see them
Wow...Yusuke is so handsome. I love that he smiles when he's talking.
@@missplainjane3905 Japan is indeed and advanced and developed country.
@@missplainjane3905 Sadly no
I didn’t need to say what I was thinking when I saw those owner and son and staff because the comment section already said them. Kudos paolo for always giving us quality and interesting content !
These lads look so down to earth, it must be fun working there regardless how busy it gets.
They all seem to be so nice, energetic and friendly people. You can see they like their job and they love other people, too. It must be an amazing place to work at. I hope the owner will meet the perfect girl soon! He deserves to be happy 😊
Also, as someone in the comments has already written - they are all extremely handsome! A perfect combination, as they all seem to be kind, friendly, dedicated, hard-working and handsome... What more can a girl ask for?
the staff at this restaurant are very good looking especially the chef!
Thanks, Paolo! The owner and his son have beautiful smiles. I love how these videos are part behind-the-scenes, part dating profile. How old are you? What do you like to do? Do you go to the aquarium alone? LOL. I love how Paolo is helping them with business and love :)
OMG....all the guys are so good looking. The senior owner is equally handsome.
They're all sooo HANDSOME 😍😍😍 ... I hope they find love very soon and start families 😩
where in LA?
@@akadanish by the homeless tents 😂
@@gregoryrodriguez5621 heard its pretty bad, skid row baby!!!
Can't get enough of Japanese food here in Taiwan, so looking forward to visiting Japan next spring for the first time!
Dad is handsome and fashionable
Son got those genes
Friend looks like a cousin or brother
Everyone looks good in this restaurant
Japanese people are just good vibes man. All of them just seem so calm about life
Another great episode of this series in the books! The level of attention and commitment to quality at Japanese restaurants never ceases to amaze me.
Yusuke and his dad have the same beautiful smile and eyes that sparkle. I always wonder each time I watch one of your videos if you are offered to eat the food that is being served?
Everyone has so much swag in this episode. I'm envious of their hairstyles!
What kind of Japanese barber shop thru HSV compared to the US
Fashion and music... this father and son duo slayed
I bet many customers would love to come here not just for their amazing cooking skills but also for a little peek of the good looking sweet gentlemen😂
Both father and son are so handsome, debonair, and insanely talented! Bravo!
Love your videos. Always well made and have so much great info. Thanks for making these videos, even after all the private issues you have had. Thanks.
I love how passionate he is about what he does even after all these years. I don’t know if I could do it
Thank you for filming all the different food shops in Japan, it make me miss and reminisce the great memories I had living there.
Everyone is so good looking, the food looks amazing too
Does Japan have surprise health inspections like USA and Canada?
The son is a very organized chef …
very talented and I m so impressed with the constant clean as you go ethic.
Japan is cleaner than Western countries.
@@inisipisTV From what I know after living here 22 years, that seems unlikely at best. I've run a bar here for 4 years, and we have yet to see an inspector of any kind.
IN JAPAN "THERE IS NO SURPRISE VISIT AS in Canada when it comes to health department official visit to any food retail stores, hair dressers,etc... and any businesses dealing with people physical contacts ( please check the "CITY OF TORONTO HEALTH DEPARTMENT INSPECTIONS) and it is quite amazing about the power they have to keep you open or shut you down and FINES.ANY business HAVE to display sign "on their store front window with pass green, orange under scrutiny/fines, red you are close, how do I know,32 years in business.I used to know a small French bakery " IN TAKAYAMA JAPAN(my favorite city in Japan) called " NICOLAS BAKERY " parallel street to the JR STATION 5/7 MNS WALK away and the owner told me ,back then they get a letter at least with 2 weeks notice " so you will never get red handed, this bakery is gone may be 10 years ago or more, another baker took over
I love how Paolo looks so happy in his videos, he really seems he loves what he is doing
The USA is too litigious for small businesses to survive in large population centres.
America has serious problems with laziness, greed, a lack of honor, radical individualism, religious extremism, disregard for quality, etc... Japan values the opposite of all that. While Japan isn't perfect it's far better than the US
You are probably the only ONLY Asian food showing tons of amazing local foods that I know by name
Watching these behind the counter vidéos always fills me with joy, thanks a lot for all your efforts, love from france ❤
The father really sporting and cool...i really like how humble he treat you.
It was so enjoyable to watch this one and get to know all the people at the shop! Felt like the start of a visual novel almost
My daughter, who just turned 32, (and single) ☺️ said she would have to do takeout at this restaurant because she would be too nervous to eat there because the chef is so good looking. 😉 💕💕
I started watching these now I’m literally addicted like I physically can’t stop keep up the good work
I think I know why I feel so good watching these videos. It's because of small things hidden between the lines such as: a business passed down from father to son, boss arriving first and working harder than the staff, everyone nice with each other, a lot of discipline and care with the work, the treatment of the customers. This is what a society that hasn't fallen apart culturally looks like. I feel like I've been robbed for not having that around me, I want to sue the boomers and the gen x for ruining things before I arrived
gen x here, boomers did a lot, no need to drag us into their messes!
The Hells Angels, the Comanchero motorcycle club and the Aussie Cartel heads are having talks while you are reading this about their growth in Australia and in Asia. Exterminating The Yakusa presence and their activities in the country would be considerably profitable for the Hells Angels, the Comanchero motorcycle club and the Aussie Cartel. The goal is to initiate their expansion over the Yakusa in Australia and to push it as far as in Japan. According to their plans, they are and will be supported by the Sinaloa Cartel for a part of the gains obtained and it would be done by the end of 2023. They told their mens to prioritize the capture, mostly for torture and interrogation before killing and for selling but to kill right away if they can not capture. This is what members having close ties with Hells Angels chapter leaders are talking about. Some members of the Hells Angels and of the Sinaloa Cartel had already start moving to Australia. The mens had been told to get the job done by any means, even by mass killing if needed. If you are directly involved let your comrades know so you can be prepared for what is happening before it is too late to prevent the bloodbath and your fall!
This is what a harmonious restaurant looks like, due to a chef who “leads from the front”. It can really make such a huge difference.
My favorite series. So great to be behind the scenes this way. Thank you so much Paolo.
A very elegant and polite restaurant. Thank you for sharing
I love the food culture in Japan. One of my biggest regrets of returning to the States after living there for a long time is that the food culture in the US is no contest - there's just not much pride if any at all - there are some exceptions of course.
Bellissimo video! Love from Italy, me and Simone are watching you every weekend! (simo is from Rome, we're waiting for you!)
Teppanyaki chef def. is one of the most rewarding restaurant jobs. Customers don't expect to get food as fast as possible, the entire process is part of the experience
All the staff are all handsome and the owner's son is soooo good looking. I hope I can eat there soon.
One of my favorite foods! These videos have taken on a whole other meaning since one of my friends opened her own bar in Tokyo,
Thank you for focusing on the personal side of these shops along with their amazing food!
Take care!
HANDSOME OVERLOAD!!~!!
That was fascinating! Great video, thanks!
As someone who had worked in the service industry for 17 years. I really enjoy these mini documentary. Most people only show the food. I think the people behind are just as important.
Wow that was really interesting. So great that he's caught his father's passion and is following in his footsteps!
I can definitely say that these guys make a Great Team when it comes to running this shop!! Great Team work can be Appreciated when everyone does their part!! Not to mention the Okonomiyaki looks Magnificent 💜!! Wonderful Video and Thanks for Sharing🔥💯🔥💯🔥
There are many young chef with high motivation.
Everything about your channel is so postive ❤️ thank you so much for your hard work stay safe
I love the simplicity and elegance of Japanese cuisine !
Handsome crew! 😍
The father, son and all the other crew!
I had okonomiyaki in the States and in Japan and I can definitely tell the difference between the two. Japan has simple ingredients but they really know how to build flavor, and it's my all time favorite
OMG!! SO HANDSOME NO WAY
I think this is my favorite episode so far, all of them are so handsome! haahahha
Same haha!!
