I have ran 4 marathons. 2:37 alpha fly 1(Salisbury), 2:32 alpha fly 1(Philly), 2:34 alpha fly 1 (Boston), 2:29 UA Velociti Elite 2 (Baltimore) This shoe works for me. It is firm but it was nice not sinking into the foam when the going got tough. I also really like the rocker.
@ hi there, I train in them daily for my faster efforts , foam responds well. naturally in the cold it's more firm but it comes alive at pace (sub 4:00/km pace) have also found if you put the shoes on radiator after use the foam springs back quicker due to heat expansion
I'm getting 361 Fusion 2 soon to try. Yeah lots of great priced shoes from China. What's your favorite daily and racer recommendations? Please do share
Oh early comment I am dying to hear your review on this. I got the same deal for 80. One speed workout done, and they have been on the shelf since. I'm 200 lbs and couldn't compress the foam. I tried to sprint in them, for me that's 6 min pace (I can't hold it) and there was still no give. It has a great rocker but that's the only compliment I have. The upper gave me a lot of trouble too. The overlays are right on my pinky toe and put a lot of pressure there. I went true to size in a 10.5 an 11 would have been better. I took the L on this one too. Feel like I wasted 80 bucks..... can't believe the msrp is 250.
@brianway4240 they were on sale for 180 ish, and at the time there was a 50% off code and i stacked it with a second code for an additional 15% off. I think with shipping they were a hair over 80 dollars.
A brand that doesn’t really have any reviews is Anta. David Salas from DoR loves the Anta C202 5 GT. Would you have any interest in reviewing the C202 5 GT ($180) and the C202 6 Pro ($240)? The price or the C202 5 GT is intriguing if it can compete with some of the top tier $250 race shoes.
@ Good to hear. I’m not currently needing a new race shoe, but down the line, it might be one I’d consider. Still only have 104 miles on my Endo Pro 3 and a pair of Takuki Sen 10s with less than 50 miles on them. The Takumi’s will be my race shoe for my upcoming 10K the first week of February, shooting for sub 42’.
lol I knew that this shoe was going to be horrible. I tried a running shoe from under armor years ago and all I could manage was 2 miles ish. Shoe was super stiff and it also gave me a blister on the side of my arch. They have amazing clothes technology but not shoes. They need way more years on making shoes, they don’t have it yet. Really old tech on shoes, let’s get it together UA.
my 2 cent..... today: versatilaty versus specificality let us look at two runners named V and S both run 1600 miles per year, all their shoes cost the same price and all shoes have the same durability of 400 miles Runner V has a 3 shoe rotation with versital shoes to do all the different runs . Over a period of 3 years runner V runs 4800 miles and runs 12 pairs of shoes into the ground Runner S has a 12 shoe rotation with specific shoes for 12 different runs. With his total of 4800 miles in 3 years and the durability of 400 miles per shoe he also runs 12 pairs of shoes into the ground So both runners spend the same amount of money. A difference comes with the different price of shoes and the different durability, never because of versatility or specificity. Runner S is in a far better place, because ALL of her/his/its shoes are more suited for their specific use As a consequence i suggest when a runner has moved from a beginner status to an intermediate status with some knowledge what kind of shoes for what kind of run are best, to move up from a 3 shoes rotation to a 12 shoe rotation ( or xyz depending on the number of different runs he does), buy exclusively last years model or otherwise discounted shoes and choose from 2 options the more durable one......the only exception should be the race shoe for the favorite distance, where performance is the only criteria, which counts
I agree it's nice to have that variation. I think the risk is that 12 shoe runner inevitably wants the latest and greatest so that 12 is at risk of becoming 22 and def not purchased on sale/last year's model 😂 but with the breadth of options in today's market it's nice to have different shoes for different types of runs
@@supwell very true, in a world of addiction in all areas of our lifes, it is very much possible like you said.......being a sugar addict in recovery, i know for sure, that part of my success to eat zero refined carbs only was possible, because i shifted the addiction into other areas like running, caffein, a record collection, a dart collection and a big number of shoes, far more than i need to cover all basis........just oredered a adidas pro 3 with 30 % discount for my semi long mid week fast runs only🤣🤣🤣
OK, I'm convinced some of you know the exact moment these come out.

Supwell gang in the building
From someone who is not a runner, your content is thorough and informative. Keep Going 💪
I use them for track workouts. Love em ❤❤
Finally! Bro I've been tryna get you to look at these shoes for months! Sleeper race/ training shoe for the price with the crazy Under Armour sales.
The UA cold gear gets me and all of my security guard brethren through the winter! 😂
Always uploading when is 1 am here. GOLD!
I bought this exact same shoe, just like those knit puma foreverruns, there was some good sales out there at the end of last year.
Grateful we didn't buy a house in the foothills because of concerns for fires. Grateful I could still run because it keeps me sane.
Scullion would’ve run his 2:09 in them I imagine since he was an UA athlete. After seeing the weigh in, maybe not
I ran 14:28 5k in this in London Russell Square love the shoe
What’s your view on the firmness? How much might the cold be making the foam harder?
@ hi there, I train in them daily for my faster efforts , foam responds well. naturally in the cold it's more firm but it comes alive at pace (sub 4:00/km pace) have also found if you put the shoes on radiator after use the foam springs back quicker due to heat expansion
shoutout UnderArmour Cold Gear
Pats, Duke, and flaming alphas would be the villain fit haha.
That's your earliest early reaction:))
Hobby Jogger role call 🙋♂️ bang! 💥
You must try some chinese shoes brand like 361 degrees, qiaodan,Xtep, please yowana these are affordable shoes that can compete to the big brand also
Qiaodan Xtep Plaid 1.5 is one of my favorite racing models I’ve raced in. Almost on the too soft side of things but still really bouncy.
I'm getting 361 Fusion 2 soon to try. Yeah lots of great priced shoes from China. What's your favorite daily and racer recommendations? Please do share
Next trip to carbon county has got to be in an AP4 and Velociti Elite 2 hybrid to balance it out #MIDseason
There's no offseason but there is a mid season 😂
Bill Dreef the Science guy coming 2027 😂😂😂😂 12:32
Would you equate the rep workout to running strides?
Geppetto 5000s was a highlight 😂
Slugs went south for the winter
this is when Stephen Curry decided to enter a marathon and UA make him a shoe. the whole design language scream his shoe (the basketball shoe).
Simbassa:
Fastest currently active US marathoner.
Isn't this also what AR holder Kelati wears?
Actually, I wouldn't doubt if they wear something not available to us.

How did that $80 deal work? I didn't grasp exactly what he meant. I'm more wondering about doing the same with other shoes.
@brianway4240 they were on sale for 180 ish, and at the time there was a 50% off code and i stacked it with a second code for an additional 15% off. I think with shipping they were a hair over 80 dollars.
Yeeee
At that price it’s a no brainer

I only know that brand from the Klay Thompson basketball shoes 😂 I haven't done any of the Chinese brands yet but will prob get to them at some point
