I think it's one thing for water to go up our nose but it another to flush our sinuses. How many times have you been to the beach or public pool and had water up your nose? Everything should still be in tip top shape. I think this is one of those freak situations. Like putting in a contact lense without drying your hands and getting something like this in your eye. *not a doctor*
Very little water travels up your nose in the shower. Very different from unnecessarily shooting fluid into your olfactory system that is connected directly to the brain structures of the limbic system. Any Doctor advising this is being paid handsomely by product makers.
@@simaseckin4850 Where exactly am I wrong? Can you be more specific? Allow me to explain my comment more. 1. I used the beach and public pool example because they're usually packed full of nasty stuff, especially public pools. I never meant that these incidents are isolated to the beach and public pool. 2. How many other children who have played in a private pool (in-ground and above ground) got water up the nose or something and came out fine? Again, one of those freak situations. For example (but not limited to) burying yourself in the sand. I've done it, my family has done it, and low and behold we come out fine. Some teen buries himself in the sand and gets flesh-eating bacteria. Another example, I wear contact and after washing my hands I don't always dry them before putting in contacts. And once again, I'm fine. No issues. Lady gets that water in her contacts and almost loses an eye. These are freak situations. While they can be rare on a broad spectrum, that doesn't mean they're impossible to experience. This is why they have recommendations on how the product should be used. Like using boiled water over tap water. Or the product recommendation of not using a tampon past 8 hours or you'll run the risk of TSS. It is not a 100% chance of getting TSS after 8 hours of use, but there is not a 0% chance of not getting it.
When getting in swimming pool or at the beach . There are sometimes when water goes through nose then in the mouth and then we cough . Should we boil the the water on beach or in swimming pool?

People might not still watch this video but today I was in the shower and I put some water up my nose to see if I could get anything out of it but it was shower water should I go to the hospital or to my doctor I’m only a teenager
It's very very very very very rare.. only 200 cases in the US in 60 years and it can only be contracted through your nose.. usually warm water that's recycled and not filtered.. or in lakes, ponds etc.. you have to catch it early.. that is anyone's only chance at surviving this but the main issue is the early symptoms are headache and vomiting which are very common.. then seizures, red rashes and hallucinations the next wave of symptoms.. the problem with that is it's too late at that point cause the amoeba has reproduced and already started eating at brain tissue which causes permanent damage. Dr's will usually put you in an induced coma then ice your whole body down to lower core temp and put the patient on a cocktail of antibiotics and anti fungal medications.. the coma slows down brain activity which also slows the amoeba from eating tissue in the brain and reproducing at the same time allowing the medication to goes to work. Honestly most people's immune system fight it off before it does any damage. But if you just got over being sick or had surgery,, anything that would lower your immune system technically would put you at higher risk but again extremely low chance to get this and in almost every case it's a child because you literally have to breathe in water up your nose to get it.. there's no other way to get this parasite
even if it's filtered you really should be pasteurizing any water that you use for irrigation. it even says that shit on the box lol. it explicitly says don't use tap water and boil and cool the water before using it. people really out here throwing their lives away over not following simple directions
Man, here I am opening my first Neti Pot. Now I don't want to do it. I am going to store it away for now. I am currently in the process of getting scans. I am on bed rest for two weeks now. I am thinking I have sinus and migraine problems. I had strange health problems since 2008. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure when I graduated in 2008. I had so many symptoms and I went to many doctors, and still have symptoms. Right now is a new symptom. I am dizzy and lightheaded since February 9 now. I had blood tests done and the doctor said on Friday I am a little dehydrated, which does not make sense to begin with because I drink lots of water. I went back on Monday yesterday, I told him it feels like I am rocking back and forth on a boat, and he said it sounds like vertigo. I quit my amlodipine and switched to propranolol this past weekend. So far, the propranolol is doing better maintaining my blood pressure. I am still lightheaded. I suspect it is sinuses because when I went to the dentist, they kept saying I have serious sinuses in my head. I had no clue sinuses could be this bad. I wonder if these are the root of all my health problems since 2008. I don't have any pain though. I have a cardiologist appointment on February 27 next week, and my ENT otolaryngologist appointment is this coming February 24 on Friday. I do have tonsils that have been swollen since 2018 or 2017, but the reception girl said they only do one case at a time, so I am going in for this vertigo and sinus problem first. I can't get work done and this is my first major job that has gone over a year on contract. My boss said I could go on disability, but I told her I will try to work next week. I don't know of anyone else is having these symptoms. It came out of nowhere. The vertigo and dizziness. I also searched something called cervical instability as a possibility. It can come from poor posture and being on computers, phones, and laptops too much. I am leaned over on my bed on my laptop now. I have been more ever since my desktop went down in 2021. It can't be from lack of exercise because I exercise everyday.
I’ve used mine twice and came from another video where I came from another video where I was watching the disease from swimming in lakes and ponds. This is the true scared straight hahah”
Serious question, can I just use bottled distilled water? That's what I've been using for the last few times without any problems. I wash the neti pot with dish detergent and a paper towel (no sponges!), and rinse it well. I dry most of the water out and pour bottled distilled water in and microwave it for about 25 seconds. The first time I did it this time (I've used neti pots years before), the water wouldn't come out, and I felt incredible pressure in the center of my forehead and behind my right eye. I tried it again the next day after using a plain saline nasal spray, and the water ultimately passed through. However everything that comes out, whether it be through the neti pot or through sneezing and blowing my nose, comes out clear. I've had disgusting yellow and occasionally little brown fhlegm- or mucous? - that I spit up by hacking it up, (and, sorry to be gross) or pull down with a q-tip from the back of my throat. I can see it's coming from my nose, because it's dragged down from above my throat. I feel like there's a blockage that's preventing me from blowing a build up through my nose. Earlier, I was able to hear movement in my nasal passages (light clicking sounds that I also can feel when I lift my head in the morning. I've had this noise as long as I remember). But in the last few days since the pressure's increased, I don't have the nouse in the morning, but hear it periodically throughout the day while I'm up. Yesterday, since my ears feel slightly clogged, I took a q-tip and put a little 90% alcohol on it and touched the inside of my ear, and heard the click noise. Odd! That's new. One more thing to mention is that I smell a horrible imaginary odor after I use the neti pot or saline spray. It lasts about an hour and goes away. I had the same odor when I had covid last month (I only had a slight fever for a couple of days), but last month the odor was also in my taste buds, and altered almost everything I ate (it was only the following day after the 2-day fever) I feel the pressure is not going away, but the post nasal drip has decreased significantly. It's only in the morning. I've also began sleeping without a pillow, so my head isn't elevated and it can't drip down my throat all night. I've also started using a small massager with heat on my face forehead & nose). I'm not sure if it's been helping. So the two questions I have are: 1) Do you think I need to go to the doctor's? 2) Do I need to boil the bottled distilled water for use in the neti pot? Thank you.
I can hear click sounds when I comb My Hair... Doctors don't believe Me... Been dealing with the sinuses and Cuts all over My Body... They Look like tiny Micro hairs that make Click sound when trying to Dodge You, as In defense mode... This started suddenly a few Years ago...nothing kills them... Won't Even burn...
Im concerned, I used the neti pot a couple of time and boiled tap water for 15mins. idk if i used it correctly, think i tilled my head to far, but now my ear has been plugged and im getting sinus heads and its been 2 weeks since the last time i used it.
You don’t really have to tip your head almost at all. I couldn’t get anything to come out that way. My head was barely tilted. One side was also more difficult than the other. Just slowly dripped out. Frustrating.
it's safe to drink as stomach acid destroys any bacteria, however the upper nasal cavity is not protected or lined so any bacteria can thrive and spread to the brain.
Antibiotics mustn't have made a dent. Surgery while she had an infection... So am I to believe, this isn't a death resulting in complications from possible exposure and spreading it from the incisions?🚩🚩🚩This definitely raise some red flags. Hmmm... I don't know... There may be some holes in this story. I wish I could have heard from her, and would like to hear feom any friends and family who may have some input. I'd like to hear from other people who've had surgery while infected. How did that go?
Our ancestors use to drink tap water or form the river nothing wrong. But again to be safe I always boil it when I can’t afford buying water for the money moment lol
I read somewhere that this specific woman was using tap water for weeks or months without sterilizing it. You should be okay if it was just like one time....but always make sure to boil it first or just buy distilled water at the convenient store. They're only like $2!

@@MonicaMichelleGarcia are you ok?
make sure the water is well salted with a good salt before doing nasal rinse. the salt will neutralize whatever in the water.
Not sure if that’s the case why I had a seizure but being dehydrated is one of the things why & bacteria
🤔 after growing up drinking water from sink and water hose 😐 explains alot
Drinking water is safe . Your stomach kills the bacteria. The waters not suitable to put up your nose to drain your sinus cavities.
who else came here from unus annus
What if we get water draining into our nose in the shower. All it takes for me is to look upwards and it happens.
@@unusualattempt no you are wrong
a child caught this virus and died while playing in the garden in an inflatable pool
@@simaseckin4850
Where exactly am I wrong?
Thank you Dr. Nandi for your informative video.🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦

I make sure to sterilize/clean my Netti pot and I use distilled water or I boil the tap water for 10 minutes, and let it cool.
@cassidyfritsch9166 How do you sterilize a neti pot?
When getting in swimming pool or at the beach . There are sometimes when water goes through nose then in the mouth and then we cough . Should we boil the the water on beach or in swimming pool?
Advisable.
Pool water is treated with chemicals, water from the beach is salt water..

So we cannot use tap water at all…
So. The amoeba can enter your body through your mouth.
Tap water can contain the amoeba.
Ergo, tap water can be fatal.
People might not still watch this video but today I was in the shower and I put some water up my nose to see if I could get anything out of it but it was shower water should I go to the hospital or to my doctor I’m only a teenager
Are you okay I been splashing water up my nose for 3 days
This is why you use DISTILLED water with the nasal rinse packet. Just saying.
You should never use tap water unless you have boiled it first
I think there's more to the story than this
It's not rare and we need to do something about it
It's very very very very very rare.. only 200 cases in the US in 60 years and it can only be contracted through your nose.. usually warm water that's recycled and not filtered.. or in lakes, ponds etc.. you have to catch it early.. that is anyone's only chance at surviving this but the main issue is the early symptoms are headache and vomiting which are very common.. then seizures, red rashes and hallucinations the next wave of symptoms.. the problem with that is it's too late at that point cause the amoeba has reproduced and already started eating at brain tissue which causes permanent damage.
@@Ballaholic17 cases RECORDED, could be misdiagnosed too...

I have the same issues .
They tell in the video how to safely use the netipod with distilled or boild (for 5-10 minutes) and then cooled down water.
It could be menere' s disease if you are having hearing issues too..
I’ve used mine twice and came from another video where I came from another video where I was watching the disease from swimming in lakes and ponds. This is the true scared straight hahah”
After doing this and then watching this, you can feel the Grim Reaper fight your Ass!

Reverse osmosis. Don’t drink tap water
Tap water isn't filtered like people think....you need osmosis filtered water...
I just used filtered water from my pur filter water i put tap in. Now I’m scared
You can use bottled water to. I use that.
Yea same
I used filtered water with saline. Am I gonna be ok
So the two questions I have are:
1) Do you think I need to go to the doctor's?
2) Do I need to boil the bottled distilled water for use in the neti pot?
Thank you.
If u have concern always go see the doctor. Never know. I always boil my water, distilled or not. Extra precautions.
he said distilled water in the video, so i guess?

Im concerned, I used the neti pot a couple of time and boiled tap water for 15mins. idk if i used it correctly, think i tilled my head to far, but now my ear has been plugged and im getting sinus heads and its been 2 weeks since the last time i used it.
You don’t really have to tip your head almost at all. I couldn’t get anything to come out that way. My head was barely tilted. One side was also more difficult than the other. Just slowly dripped out. Frustrating.
@KpopKimicool I went back to using Vicks Sinex Saline spray which is more convenient for me and works ok
simply boil and cool it down before use

it's safe to drink as stomach acid destroys any bacteria, however the upper nasal cavity is not protected or lined so any bacteria can thrive and spread to the brain.

Stomach acids will kill lots of bacteria entering the gut. The sinus isn't armed like the stomach to eliminate bacteria or fungi
