I hate to say this, but I used to really like this channel because the focus was on getting the biggest bang for your buck with emulation, like cell phones under $100, office PCs turned emulation machines, and the occasional "all-out" showcase with an i9 build. I spent a lot of money over the past few years based on recommendations, and not once did I feel ripped off. This channel showed me that my i9 machines were not needed to achieve emulation of virtually every console and home computer up to Xbox 360 and PS3. In fact, an i3-1215u laptop can be purchased for under $300 that will make that happen (so can a i5-1235u laptop or Ryzen 7 5800H, both of which can be bought for less than $300). Now, everything is the best he's seen, there are typos in virtually every video, and while this isn't your fault at all, the tech is all pretty much the same (example: what's the difference between one Ryzen 7 7840u handheld and another, other than the brand?). I think Retro Game Corps has kind of taken over as the emulation go-to, with Wicked Gamer and Collector (and his other channels) taking the best bang-for-your-buck approach. It's a shame really. I'd like to see this channel return to what it was a few years ago.
ETAPrime is a good channel if you want to see him do a showcase, where he will show gameplay with various emulators and modern games. His format is also simple, you can fast forward to the part where he shows the gameplay without having to hear him talk about his opinions of other tech over the gameplay he is showing. Like with all youtubers, take the videos with a grain of salt. I'd rather watch an ETA video over Linus Tech Tips if I am looking to see how a device performs.
This isn't to discredit other youtubers. Every video format has its strengths and weaknesses. At best, ETA's exaggerations come from saying things like "It's the best thing on the market". Sometimes I laugh when he says, "Runs smooth, no lag" and there is lag on the device he is testing. IMO, I think every major youtuber who showcases tech that isn't even out yet is receiving some sort of sponsorship/incentive, so its obviously going to be biased. If you're worried about viruses and malware you can first boot to USB and use a recovery/rescue/AV boot image to scan the drive before ever booting into windows. Afterward you can use a driver transfer/recovery program to copy drivers from old system and reinstall on new system. Thanks for the info and Amazon has this mini computer with a 200 dollars off.
GMKtec Gaming Mini PC AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS 32GB DDR5*2 2TB M.2 PCIe4.0 SSD Windows 11 Pro, Dual Fan Desktop Mini Computers/WiFi 6E, BT5.2/USB3.2, USB-C 4.0/DP, HDMI
Actually it's a mini laptop 💻 without screen 🤷
Miss opportunity to not include a oculink socket 😐
It's an HS cpu, chances are it'd be better suited to the HX variant due to the better wattage.

Have you seen the Disney MK mod ? It’s awesome
It's amazing to me to see a ported ps5 game playing on that.
Have you looked at using the universal apu running utility to unlock/reduce power on any of these mini pc’s?
Could you do a Tekken 8 test on this mini pc?
wish you did speedometer
Can you do a video and how this will performed with all the emulators and what can it run and what it can't thanks great video.
Albino why u don't put the Price in the Title?
Is AI performance mentioned just to hit the buzzword of the week, or is this a feature people genuinely care about?
Eventually it will probably matter. Maybe games will use it for their NPCs in the future.
@@lowfuel6089 its useless as of now. But in a year or two it will be usefull. Just like 5G on phones was useless until comunication companies actually started woth 5G coverage
No more emulation?
Hi, how does it compare to the minisforum um 780 xtx?
Which chip is it? 8840hs or 8845hs
This mini pc can only support 1 monitor?
The really nice thing about Ryzen 8000 is retailers will discount the 7000 series with almost the same performance!
Other than that it's clear these should have come out as a budget series to sell beneath the Zen 5 APU.
Enough room to hang an occulink m.2 adapter out the side by any chance?
Does the second m.2 slot work with Oculink? That would be a fun test.
Seriously.. What's happening to this channel?
He’s a paid shill and has been for a long time. It’s product placement and nothing more.
Elaborate?
Best that could happen. He review tech that most channel don't, and it's very good. Exactly because of him I know what mini pc I will get.
it was always the same, you were blind...
how about letting us in on those awesome animated wallpapers you use
Is this much better thanthe AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS?
Can you recommend how to connect external speakers and microphone to this mini PC.
Does the mobo have edp or ribbon to external lcd if someone wanted to make a cyberdeck?
These mini PC's are getting POWERFUL! Almost don't even need big desktops anymore.
For my use case, I pulled the trigger on a mini pc with a 6900hx and 680m graphics. And its more than fine for what i play and do, the noise level is also minimal and it doesnt exceed 70c even after hours of gaming. But then again im in no way a pc master race enthusiast. I was fine with the performance of a gtx 1650, which it preforms similar to at a quarter of its power draw.
Try and live w/ a mini-pc under load. You will hate the noise. Desktops are still more powerful and a lot quieter. I have a min-pc w/ a 7940HS and a few older ones so I speak from experience.
lol
That's like saying a puddle in your driveway is "almost" the Pacific Ocean. 😂
switch emulation? batocera performance?
Does it encode av1?
What are you using to show stats like the clock speed etc.
what voltage does the unit use? the DC voltage from the power supply?
Can you please give a review of Galaxy S10 dex mode please. If it's still worth it in 2024
Is this CPU consume more power due to its higher base clock speed comparing to intel cpus ?
What is the chipset for the nics?
That non-existentent grass in palworld tho xD
Jeezzzz MK1 in 1080p Low still looks better than the Switch version. lmao!!!
Heard gmk pcs dont have AI functioning because bios issues?
Every video feels like an ad
I'm thinking of getting this instead of a console given how expensive console games are. With this you have the option of buying games on Steam for even just $3.
Did you fake or mixup the benchmarks again like in the previous mini PC video featuring malware filled product?
No response to your fans, but you made sure not to promtoe the video on Twitter. Priorities 👌
At this point he's more interested in pumping out videos to get views everyday instead of quality and following up. Always by the same script and nothing ever that cares about the followers he's already got. AI performance will make no difference to games either. So all 7840/7940hs videos are clones for performance.
His channel has turned into promoting products for profit instead of giving a high quality review of said product. I have since started down voting the vids. If more people start down voting this type of vid his pocket will make him adjust his actions!@@_GarethRossUK
which one was with malware?
wondering if it can run on the non-binary sodimm 🤔
brilliant stuff.. Im waiting for the beelink SER version of this processor. really need that 4 display port option for my trading setup. if you can please compare these when its available with the total power consumption of those two.
They already have the 7840 and 7940 which is same minus ai
@@stephenxs8354 I was gonna buy SER7 but when I saw this processor was released, felt like I should wait for the newest model. I have somekinda OCD about conserving power with getting the maximum performance out of it. feels like 8840HS wins in that category. or are both the same in using power when idle and doing normal browsing tasks? I do occasional gaming so going to a lower powered u processor is not an option also.
@@MYTHQUEST91 Sounds like Intel mini pcs with IRIS Xe would do the same for you. Or the new Arc GPU based 14th gen intel. I have not compared power usage with AMD vs Intel though. You can adjust TDP as well to lower power usage as well. 8840hs is no more power efficient than a 7840hs. If anything it might be more power beacause of the AI stuff.
I would prefer a figure 8 or clover cable.
It ought to be good at that price.
Would like to see how this pairs with gpd g1 or one x egpu
I expected it to be better than the 7000 series. It got the same igpu no change and taking a look at cpu cores it is the same as well..
AMD stuck a mediocre/bare minimum "AI" chip for the sake of marketing.
Then sold it as "new generation" when it's clearly no different from previous gen.
AMD is the underdog and always will be
pro the power consumption?
Where can you find the motherboard drivers? So that I can reinstall windows in the future.
If you're worried about viruses and malware you can first boot to USB and use a recovery/rescue/AV boot image to scan the drive before ever booting into windows. Afterward you can use a driver transfer/recovery program to copy drivers from old system and reinstall on new system. Or use a mix of windows update and factory AMD chipset drivers as a starting point along with wifi or Ethernet drivers if base drivers aren't included with windows.
Looking to replace my rig at some point with one of these mini pcs. I may wait until Ryzen 9000 comes of that. I have a Ryzen 5 3500 with a 1650 Super with 32gigs of ram. going to run geekbench to see if it would be worth the upgrade. I dont really play anything that terribly demanding. I play sim games(Farming Sim 22 and Euro Truck sim) and some factory games like DSP and Satisfactory.
Start testing the game Rust (from facepunch) in the game itself, launch F1 (console) and enter client.benchmark , at least, test this way, thank you.
Gmktec IS sooo good in cooling theyre Mini PCs compared to Minisform and so on
