Thanks for coming along with us for this run! No word of a lie, when I first watched this I laughed so hard a little bit of wee came out! -Matt
wait no this is it!?
That's when you know you the comedy is good
Can't wait for more in 2026!
This is a great format. I hope it stays for at least as many episodes as the original Reverse Trivia Podcast!
Any chance of a Churchill cut? 😂
"so we're gonna slip back into _Citation Needed_ " Please-
I think everyone in the audience would be happy if the techdiff crew would make another run of citation needed
I can't upvote this any harder
dear god please
Citation Needed already got five more seasons than most popular British shows.
LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK, SIR!!!
Citation Needed seems to be a drug. The audience craves it, the crew craves it, everyone remembers it as "that radical thing they used to do", and even in different formats our boys sometimes relapse. And despite very much enjoying the occasional relapse, TechDiff members reassure themselves of growing out of it and maturing into trying different formats, but we still all know we would gladly watch another... well, let's say another 8 seasons of Citation Needed without any problems.
I think that the biggest problem for them is time it self. these 4 shows are shot in 1 day. they all have to coordinate to be both free of work, have no other prioritis like family things. and that they want to record said thing and not just hangout as friends.
All podcasts will, given time, become Citation Needed.
i agree. citation needed is a drug the body never forgets.
@@TheEvilCheesecake Sounds like a Citation-Needed-Law in the making
Oh would you stop with those wild accusations! I'd watch another 12 seasons of Citation Needed, thank you very much.
That digital art joke was genius
Biscuits that man!
@Fawkes42 RIGHT?! There were TWO occasions in this show that deserved biscuits, but that one literally had me singing "Mystery Biscuits!" out loud!
He reads books, yaknow.
Having recently binged all of Citation Needed, Chris's wit is terrifyingly consistently sharp
The man simply does not miss
Truly
16:05 and with that joke completely cut out, Matt has won The Nth Degree
I understood that reference!
True!!
I love how even the audience throw the entire premise (which is to reward point to the person making the joke right before the one that's cut) just as they did
I like that bit. "Bleep bleep bleep bleep"
"That would be fine in Glasgow"
Table top Time Machine gotta come back 😂
the winston churchill onlyfans bit was absolutely incredible. also that bit of citation needed was absolutely lovely, i hope even if you dont do more full episodes of CN you do more little bits like that. very entertaining
I have a vague memory of Someone On The Internet™ telling me that Churchill was, in fact, in the habit of roaming around, uhh, without a habit (or anything else). Or perhaps it was "just in a dressing gown" or something, and was very annoyed when people came to visit and he had to put real clothes on. I don't even want to fact-check it now - it goes too well with the OnlySupporters idea 😂
@@EcceJackThat someone may very well be Gary. He’s mentioned Churchill’s propensity to walk around sans clothes on previous Tech Diff endeavours such as the Reverse Trivia podcast.
I've seen a story claiming that Churchill once encountered Abraham Lincoln's ghost while naked
"i suppose after the romance period came the necromance period" is GOLD
Callback to the relationship coroner bit.
I'd call it a revival, personally haha

My partner overheard this as i was watching it, and said "it seems like being British in a safe environment" and she's right

@@jackbiddulph Look it up on Wikipedia.
Don't look it up on Wikipedia.
Astonishingly, she's absolutely bang on the money, as it looks like it's being filmed in a church hall, a famous institution renowned throughout the land for housing and hosting all manner of gentle arts and nerdy pastimes, such as knitting groups, morris dancers, and choirs.
It is, indeed, a safe space to be British.
18:36 Gary's "...whole new meaning to the phrase 'Honourable Member'" truly had me in stitches!
Also a nice throwback to Citation Needed:
"I will defer to my honourable friend here, the member for Sheffield." and "STEEEELMEMBEEEER".
@@TheOutZZ ...longer than a mile. Don't know why it plays in my head every time I rewatch that episode, but it does
@@TheOutZZ "I refer the honourable member to my honourable member."

@@janTasita "You've just got member for Sheffield there, haven't you?" while you can audibly hear Gary's realization will never not make me giggle :D.
that bonus Citation Needed makes me want a new season of it, especially cause I just finished rewatching the older ones the other day
sameeeeee
I look through them in order every year or two.😅 Love them, still.♥️ Hope we some day get a new season...🙏🙏🙏
You mean you didn't listen to it every night to help you sleep?
I'm up for episodes of tele-citation needed if you guys need to do a conference call
@@MichaelBerthelsen You may find use of my carefully collected playlist, kept up to date with every new upload of Techdiff content.
Love how everyone else's noise of excitement are 'Eyyy', while Gary's is 'Waheyyy' in the subtitles
No one Waheyyys quite like Gary
This subtitler (captioner?) always goes beyond 👍🏼👍🏼
That'll be the strong Wahey energy.
Chris: 2 points
Gary: 1 point
Matt: 10002 points
And for the second time in Reverse Trivia history, the winner is Tom Scott!
Gary's ability to whistle without shaping his lips is actually extremely impressive.
Almost as impressive as the collective Tech Diffs' ability to blue ball us with only four episodes of Tech Diff content every two years 😂
I have a friend who can do the same thing, he tried to teach me but I still think it can only be done by magic
It's been 3 weeks since they got back together and they've uploaded 4 episodes since. Give 'em some slack
@@Leffreywell I do believe it will be awhile before they upload another 4 video batch.
@@Leffrey I assume they hang out off-camera, since they have been friends for... 2 decades at this point? Something like that.
every two years??? it's only been one year between the last series of adventures and this reverse trivia series.
Matt: "Too early!"
Chris: "Too late!"
Gary: "no."
🤣
The team behind the subtitles _definitely_ needs a raise for the color-coded _and_ appropriately-positioned "Eyyy!"s at 9:33
They did something similarly amazing back in one of the “we’ve been on adventures” videos (sorry, I don’t recall which one), that involved an animated “oooooooo” (like “ooh la la, you fancy”) emitted by the other 3 members whose video it wasn’t. As I recall, it was a tightly timed upper casing and lower casing segment of ooo’s to make a wave-like animation.
… I’m going to go watch every video in order to find it now aren’t I?
@@VxJasonxV I remember that one, I was pleasantly surprised!
If I had a nickel for every time two members of the Technical Difficulties referenced Bohemian Rhapsody in unison, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it is weird that it happened twice.
*very very frighting*
BEEP
@@Becky_CoolingWhy would you want that?
13:29 I can only assume by the cut that Tom's flamboyant throw caused some quip which in turn caused a good minute of cutting room floor footage with Matt and Gary still (slightly audibly) laughing while Tom is keeping on.
Good eye!
Around 8:30 something bus the cutting room floor as well I’d wager
4:41.
At last, we have a brand-new Brannan sound effect: Goose on a *steam* train!
Goose trying to inhale a whistle
The fact that they ran out of Zerus/Jupiter lovers is actually quite impressive.
What's even more impressive is they've only named about ⅔rds of them. 56/95.
Jupiter has a frankly ridiculous number of moons.
@@scragar Worth noting that most of them are basically just random rocks that Jupiter's massive gravity has captured, many are less than a mile wide. While they're all technically considered moons, the number of moons that Jupiter has which are more along the lines of what we'd normally think of as a "moon" is a lot smaller.
I was not ready for
"The answer on my next card is swearing. What is the question?"
"beeep beep (cut to Tom facepalming) beep beeep beeeep (Gary's trying hard not to laugh) beeep beep beep beeeep"
"I mean I realise that'd be fine in Glasgow"
It's reminding me of "and to use David Acorah's real name: beep beep beep -iscuits!!"
I hope you guys bring back the Mystery Biscuits and Citation Needed. Cheers 🇨🇦
Absolutely
I hope they do another Two of These People are Lying
I just got surgery. Like, literally still in the gown laying down in the hospital.
This is a much appreciated distraction from the discomfort.
Thanks Tom, Matt, Chris, and Gary for providing much needed respite.
Hope there’s a quick recovery for ya!
I would think the raucous laughter would induce *more* discomfort...
(gl on a speedy recovery, of course)
Would you say you were in stitches?
@@Litl_Skitl Bah, I was late on this one.
Side-splitting.
Biscuits! Biscuits, I say! I’ll bake them myself if need be. That digital joke was worth a whole tin.
F***'s sake, it took me all the way until your comment before the penny dropped for me. Digit-al 😂
17:45 Brannan slips from Churchill into Wogan 😂😂😂
Genuinely sounded like Tom was just shy of throwing up after the end of the Churchill tangent.
inquiring minds want to know ... was that Tangent better or worse than Chris with the wax Margaret Milk-snatcher in Citation needed S6E6 'bout Benjamin Rush?
@@Sianistic I don't know I do wonder what the hell they have cutten out of it.
As I lack the advantage of being British, I’ve never heard her referred to as “Milk-Snatcher” before.
@@lawrencecalablaster568I'm not British either, but I believe it has something to do with free milk for children in schools and her cutting that program.

Please, do Citation Needed! We are desperately in need of some more of that :)
Edit: and btw, dogging is not English exclusive... we also have a word in Italy, that's "camporella"!
They are very black and white about these things, thinking things are completely global (middle finger gestures) or exclusive to the UK (royal leaders), and ending up being wrong. They can't seem to just consider things being in some countries but not all.
@@fabio89rs sorry to burst the bubble but 'dogging' and 'andare in camporella' are not the same. The italian term is just to go out for a romp, without any voyeuristic connotation. Meanwhile, 'doggers' DO want to be seen. Thats why they said that 'sexo illegalo public' doesn't get it either, even if the person tried to

🎵🎶Mystery Biscuiiiits!🎶🎵
Oh yeah
Mystery biscuits for that "honourable member" joke!
And digital art.
It was mildly worrying that as soon as they mentioned "oh an old episode where dogging was mentioned" I immediately probably figured it's the Graham's Island episode, I do believe.
The curse of maintaining the most up-to-date and complete playlist of TechDiff content anywhere!
If it makes you feel any better, the phrase "Two Starbucks, a McDonalds and a parking area for doggers" is seared into my brain so i also got this immediately.
I happened to rewatch that episode this morning, so I immediately got it. Plus, what Lord Podlington said.

After independently inspecting the Churchill water slide video, I have determined that his shorts did stay on his person. The object bobbing to the surface is a board he was sliding upon.
Thank goodness, the nation's innocence is safe!
gary's slide whistle is a wonderful new noise to add to the sound bank
Because of the way the video is edited, it looks like Matt's arms were crossed the entire time and he never took the packet of sweets out of their mouth.
Everybody's favourite Gary Brannan does my favorite Winston Churchill impression.
Gary with the Red Dwarf reference which is exactly where I went for that question
It _is_ remarkable that none of the prizes have referenced Sean Bean when there were so many references to him in the text of prior TechDiff shows.
This is my favorite episode of the bunch by far. The first couple were great but felt like you were getting back in the rhythm…and here it’s right back into the swing of the old podcast episodes, full of deviations, Winston Churchill, and excellent knob gags
Bus vs hippo. This is the best kind of internet content :) so glad you are all here once again. Thanks for the chuckles in this vid, in many before, and doubtless in many after. Technical Difficulties, a truly great TH-cam channel. Thanks guys. (Kabako)
I love the incredibly brief dip back into Citation Needed too, oh the nostalgiaaaa
I've almost got a phd in astrophysics and I couldn't name another one of Jupiter's moons... Very good question Tom!
I would so pay money for a regular techdiff video podcast.
The whole Churchill bit 🤣 Gary's impersonation is pretty damn good
Apparently, there's nothing better to watch at 10PM than a fresh techdif episode
Ayyyyy gmt+7 gang
This never gets old!
But for the next season, please, please! -For the love of Ding and Mystery Biscuits - BUTTONS!!!
So glad you're back!
I sat up so straight when I heard the words Citation Needed
The Churchill’s only fans section very nearly broke me! Gary’s impression is pretty good too! 😂
Hippo vs. Bus. That's a 4am after the bar university student discussion if I've ever heard one.
Matt knowing what roman road the a5 used to be is justification for bringing back mystery biscuits
The A2 is also Watling Street, but I only know that because I used to live on it*. *To be pedantic, the road I lived on was no longer the A2 when I lived on it because a bypass had taken the A road round the village. But the road name was just The Street.
Great way to start a morning for a US bloke
4 episodes isn't enough I could watch a weekly podcast.
The problem is these four guys are unable to get together every week to record a podcast like they used to
I am constantly astounded as Gary's endless knowledge of nearly useless information. He's amazing...
I mean, I don't understand how when talking about Galileo's finger with Gary, Tom is bold enough to ask "what did he do with it?" expecting a serious answer. I knew somebody would came with that answer...
8:18 is the second time two techdif members have quoted bohemian rhapsody at the same time unplanned. If I had a nickel etc
but just like "very, *very* frightening", it was somewhat obvious. The stereo "Why would you want that‽" with matching intonation and cadence is still one of the most amazing cases of being on the same wavelength I have ever witnessed.

Galileo: Pull my finger.
No not thaaaat hard!
The whole Winston Churchill bit needs to be cut out separately as a standalone video, I loved it!
I’m convinced the existence of Milton Keynes is the reason otherwise well-informed people so often confuse Milton Friedman and J. M. Keynes when discussing economic policy/philosophy.

even a tiny return of citation needed just made me so happy. man, i love tech diff content so much.
"When the bus hits the hippo" is the new "When the crap hits the fan"

Not for long T-T
I highly recommend going to the Galileo Museum in Florence, in addition to the finger there is a huge collection of analog technologies- astrolabes, globes, clocks, static electricity, compasses, everything everything you can think of. My favorite museum I've ever been to.
That Winston Churchill bit almost killed me with laughter!
watching these videos as an american woman in her 20's means that I get really excited when I actually understand what they're all referencing... I'm so glad techdif is back!!!
Wow! the density, the seamlessness, spiced with that immaculate calmness it was served, makes it one of the if not the best show you've ever released. Do hope it won't be 5 years till the next season
Bloody good Churchill bit
Hey guys. I'm glad you're making more of these after all this time. Y'all have been my comedic gateway drug, and still are my favorite thing on youtube to come back and rewatch.
Also, this episode and season rocked!
This video's captions are the best I've ever read. The creativity and care that goes into capturing every nuance is stunning. I dream of the day this becomes the standard.
I think we need the live audience back too. They certainly performed their best last time when infront of people!
problem is is that would require them to find a venue for it, the youtube space in london shut down a couple years back so they don't have that anymore.
plz don't let us wait as long for the next season, it has been sorely missed and I can only re-watch old videos so many times.
We’ve circled all the way back around to Naked Winston Churchill from the podcasts. I love this show.
IPA in the subtitles is dedication, and highly appreciated
"I can whistle without moving my lips" God that takes me back... It really is just the same jokes over and over, but then again, I'm the one that's been stealing them for over a decade
What with Tom's latest announcement that more episodes will be out before Christmas, his 'see you in the next season' at 20:27 feels like a subtle wink ...
"I hate digital art" deserves some mystery biscuits
I love that pointing out an accidental pun results in an excited cheer
9:29
But making a pun intentionally results in groans

I didn’t know we couldn’t make our own subtitles for these anymore. Even though I hadn’t done it, I’m disappointed that I can’t.
Community subtitles hasn't been a thing in years.

You guys are wonderful. Thanks for the new videos. I love that we got a little bit of citation needed in this one.
I do like the idea of citation needed being a sort of sub category that just briefly pops up once per episode
A bonus Citation Needed about the best possible topic! (which I won't spoil)
15:43 let me tell you as an american it took me a log time before I realized dogging was not referring to dog walking since it came up as a 'park for doggers' in previous citation needed
