5:15 We have a store called "Michael's Bikes" in our home town. We always called it "Micycle's Bicycles", or "Michael's Bichaels"
"micycle" is taking me out 😭
Okay it’s 1am in Australia and I need to sleep so I’ll be watching this in the morning but I’m SO excited you have no idea - I routinely re listen to the reverse trivia podcast so this is amazing
And when you wake up you'll have a comment notification to remind you to come back
10:13 That's gotta be Mystery Biscuits
Oh yeah!
Seis leches? En esta economía?
I've missed these guys, the only show where I have to remember to take my asthma inhaler before watching as I always laugh myself into an attack
Oh, goodness. Do remember, please. It's a series and you wouldn't want to miss any of em, now that they are back
9:38 "and immediately relating it to Matt Grey's-"
*MYSTERY BISCUITS!* Oh, yeah... ;)
This is the funniest thing the team has made since Cotation Needed and I'm delighted.
The adventures are brilliant too, but this scratches a very different itch
_I_ enjoyed the NAND Pirates bit.
Thank you very much for having quality subtitles in the projects you have creative control over.
And when the world needed them most, somehow the oldest game in my favourite group returned.
Tom said "I've got question cards" and I immediately went to the comments looking for the merch link.
Then I hear, "That's Merchandise!" And can't agree more. Sell these cards! Sell these cards! Sell these cards!
We. Are. BACK. Was just listening to the old reverse trivia while working today. Extra hyped that new stuff is coming
21:00 Technical Difficulties ‘predicting’ the clue NYT Strands for the day this vid would be posted, is a fantastic coincidence. Even without that coincidence, brilliant bit 😆
(Edit: It’s past midnight in many time zone by the time I’m editing this, but amending my wording for clarity that the reference was NOT the spangram but the freely given clue)
Oh? For posterity, what was the clue?
@@samuelmellars7855"Hairy Styles"
I’m so happy someone else also noticed this!
Aw, man, I was actually about to go do Strands after watching this video...
I mean, I knew I shouldn't have opened the replies, so that's on me, but what are the odds?
Editv Oh, that's the free clue you get, not the spangram. Spoiler averted.
@@songofshadow5043 terribly sorry for giving you a scare there! Should’ve been more precise with my phrasing.
Oh my god I’m gonna scream!!! Reverse Trivia!!!
YES! YES! YES! YES! I WAS LITERALLY THINKING EARLIER TODAY HOW MUCH I'D LOVE TO SEE NEW REVERSE TRIVIA!!!
Watching this after having abdominal surgery was a mistake, but I have no regrets
By the rule of the red t-shirt, Gary is the new Tom.
So glad to see everybody's favorite Gary Brannan, Gary Brannan again!
2:05 Slightly surprised nobody quoted Coleridge here... "Water, water everywhere, nand any drop to drink."
1:38 "NAND Pirates" sounds like a sci-fi writer's name for a group who distributes something illegally via flash-drives 😂
Oh my god, YES! So amazing to have you guys back, especially on this much-loved format! Can't wait to watch this episode and the 3 others coming soon, you spoil us!
Magnificent "The Sandbaggers" shirt. Absolutely fantastic and underrated program. Fascinating backstory, too.
THEY ARE SO BACK, BABY🎉🎉
Guyyyys hold it down they are back, follow the protocoll, everything is chill, they are just BACK
NEW TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES SERIES!! MY FAVORITE 4 PEOPLE TO LISTEN TO THE BANTER OF ON THE WHOLE INTERNET. YAHOO!
wait holy shit it is actually reverse trivia, a series so old that it started when Apple Podcasts supported video
XOR pirates: if they ever encounter two identical ships, they vanish.
I’ve loved both Toms solo videos and especially loved The Technical Difficulties work for many years now and seeing them back together again has made my crappy week much better for a little while
Overwhelming was my excitement when I got the notification about a new Reverse Trivia episode.
The "1x01" confused me though, was wondering if it was the original run finally uploaded to YT as well, maybe with some AI animation...
@@tahreyI think Tom has far too high quality standards to resort to using AI :D.
@@TheOutZZ true, but if you're just doing some cursory animatic stuff with it and no budget to get a real animator on board (Cam might do it for free but it's a lot of work and not really fair) then it may be tempting as a placeholder if nothing else.
That it was on the official channel rather than a fan one did make that seem less likely all the same
I have missed this show! Thanks for this guys!
1:48 I am studying math rn. I enjoyed that joke
So happy for this video. Technical Difficulties is S tier content, thank you for bringing it back. Please continue to revive this format every once in a while
That super snappy zoom on Tom’s “…AND… I’VE GOT QUESTION CARDS” cracked me up far more than it should have. Can’t believe I broke only a minute into the video. Welcome back, gang
i can't believe i was just watching a bunch of old TechDif episodes *last night* and now the boys are finally back in town!! can't wait to watch this later ☆
WHOOO New TechDiff content. 😁 Also it looks like Gary has gotten new glasses. 😄But Tom looks so out of place without a red shirt.....
I KNEW it was something wrong.
The red shirt
It’s here. It’s finally here!
Some of these puns go obscenely hard. Not most, mind you, but some. That's why I love this program.
I love watching these lads take the piss out of each other. It's like being in the pub with my mates, but from the comfort of my own bed 😊
Woo! As soon as I saw a new episode, I added this to my playlist.
So happy to have you four back together playing off each other.
And they’re back! I’m excited!!!!!
Phoenix Down the down feathers of a phoenix, is my personal favourite oh these words mean something moment.
I can only think of one other thing I watch that has this many jokes per minute, causing me to have to watch it more than once to pick them all up, and that's "Airplane!".
Thank you for this. Your old episodes, all the way back to audio only, have been a delightful distraction through some very rough times. Bless you all.
Just gotta say, the Technical Difficulties has long been my favorite TH-cam content. Tip top as always.
YOU"RE BACK!!!!!! YEAH!!!!! Welcome back! Please don't leave again... These are some of the most informative videos on TH-cam and the platform is better for having you guys on it.
I'm worried for you if you think this is information
@@MxCrabMost of the stuff that isn't witty banter is quite informative though, for the details it's always implied that you should look it up.
Oh hell yeah!
FINCHLEY, BRING THE PORT!
"Finchley, fetch me my Doncaster Whiskey!"
I'm sad there's only going to be 4 episodes, but glad to see the team back.
God, I've missed you guys. I know you did other things, but they never quite clicked like reverse trivia/wikipedia for me. Glad to see a return to form. Please remember that this works better when it is just 4 guys riffing off each other in a room, and don't make the same mistake of going "panel show" with it again.
I found it hilarious that this is not even the first thing Tom has hosted to have a reference to touching God's finger in the first episode!
GIMME! YES! MY FAVORITE LADS ARE BACK!
1:00 In addition to a marvelous snap zoom, you are absolutely right Gary, it is. I (and assumedly others) would unironically buy that just cuz it's so fitting for y'all's energy. Please please please do a print run of those!
2:05 Honestly it's impressive how many individual NANDs they can fit on a single ship, but I hear they may soon be constrained by the end of the Law of Moore.
1:57 I'm the person that appreciated Matt's logic gate annihilation joke.
3:38 Though I have to admit it took me a second to get Matt was talking about the Galactic Empire
4:58 Chris made me do an actual spit take, and Gary following up immediately doubled me over entirely.
8:54 He should try for some Picassos, they're obviously very cubey and it's not supposed to look "right," so may as well use it.
9:17 "...and one for the mutants, Gary."
11:04 Matt: "...the mid 1800s" Tom: "1850." Me: "Point." *ding*
13:00 I relate so deeply with Chris, hearing the bit about the pizza delivery guy, and being like, "finally back on familiar ground."
...and he chokes both myself and Gary instantly after.
14:19 Thank you so much for being positive and wholesome about this, ever since Rob Munroe mentioned the "lucky 10,000" people who get to discover any given subject on any given day, I've tried as hard as I can to not put people down for not knowing something, to be a teacher and a sharer of both information and the wonder new ideas can bring.
14:35 I vaguely recall reading somewhere that that was apocryphal and the two names have different origins... can't recall where, though.
16:24 This bit works so brilliantly because as Tom is making a big deal out of it literally everyone is like "yeah, yeah it makes sense," trying to -gaslight- gang up on him with it and I love it.
19:13 Submariners hiding under a vessel going through locks does sound very good for a movie, but even more than that, now I know what I'd love to see y'all do for your next adventure á la hovercraft excursion. Oughta see if you can hire a little sightseeing thingy that can only go like eight feet under, and cruise down some canalways (don't actually go under anyone, though. stay safe lads).
( i cope with the effort of rewinding for timestamps by relishing how much i get to rewatch the good bits )
Minor correction: Randall Munroe
Yay! The return of Techdif!
Wow, a classic form returns! Now all we need is a revival of "Two of These People Are Lying" and the nostalgia quota will be met for the foreseeable future!
100%
For the last two weeks I've been watching the old episodes again, and it's just such an awesome format! :D
I would love a new two of these people are lying
WHOO!
1:56 I was laughing at that, as were quite a number of other people, so I think we're nerdier than Brennan might think.
2 minutes in and I'm already pissing myself about NAND Pirates
Edit : Me too Tom, me too
Love the Sandbaggers tshirt!
Gary will not make it to the end of this series. He's wearing a "Sandbaggers" shirt.
Brilliant comment!
19:43 A submarine smoking a cigar with the tag-line "You can never be sure about a submarine..." would have been my favorite thumbnail for this video.
I was just rewatching the old tabletop time:machine episode - my favourite!
