I brought home a new 2024 Prius Prime yesterday. I traded in a 2017 Prius Prime, so I was somewhat familiar with how this new car will work, but I am grateful for videos like this one. Trying to figure out all the features and settings is like a 3-semester college course. I will get some advice from my children on which nav system to go with. By the way, the volume knob is now on the left of the multimedia display.
You can do it two different ways. You can press the volume button on the center navigation screen. Or, you can press and hold the mode button on the lower right area of the steering wheel.
Thanks for the video! It's really a shame though that the "premium" touchscreen has such a slow refresh rate, it seems like it takes half a second to respond to your touch.
Not really. It might seem that way only because he's going through the screen settings much faster than most people do normally when using it. Pinching and zooming the map is the only time you notice any lag. Buy I rarely need to do that. If you are actually using the navigation while driving, the map zooms in and out automatically as needed when driving. Very cool and much better than my phone which I use to use with my old car. Got rid of my phone holder.
is the wireless android auto a US only thing? I can't connect mine wirelessly in Switzerland. It's also pretty much useless, as if I have it connected and playing music from the phone, it disconnects at every turn or around half minute. the other annoying thing I can't turn off is the "accept terms and conditions" thing every time I turn on the car. It's a nice enough car, but I am quite disappointed with it. I wouldn't buy it again, for sure
Charlie, Based on the indulgence displayed in the rest of the Prius design, I am surprised they did not add an extra A pillar to block the view of the touchscreen. 😉😂🤣
It makes much more sense than a single screen. Better to separate out the gauge cluster car information from the navigation/entertainment features. That way you don't have a single point of failure possibility. If your center navigation screen goes out, it's not a safety issue. Cars like Teslas should have a HUD on the windshield to have a better user interface and eliminate that single point of failure danger.
The Prius, but especially the Prime are extremely difficult to get. The regular Prius seems to have better quantities over the last two months. That could be because they're 2024 model years now.
I love my ‘23 Prius hybrid! I don’t expect perfection in the first year. The price hurt but I wouldn’t go back to my 14 yr. old Prius though I was still happy with it.
The best breakdown I've seen. Thanks for taking the trouble, really appreciated 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Good content, but closeup on 7” display during explanation would have been helpful.

How do you mute the audio? I cant find a mute button anywhere!

to be honest its a lot cleaner and user friendly as well as well developed than huyndai and kia
It needs dual zone climate and the new 12.3" gauge.

You should probably demo Apple Maps when in CarPlay FYI rather than knocking a Google Map system on an Apple Software. (pinch/zoom)
Will it display WAZE?
With phone projection, yes
@@DailyMotor - What is phone projection? Never heard of such a thing.
@@genemetz1945 Sorry, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto

Good video but I find 2 screens absurd.

Can't wait for the day when cars are just 100 inch HDTV with 4 wheels attached to it. The perfect car for npc.
Still can’t believe they couldn’t have moved the volume knob over to the left side of that ridiculously large screen.
Why? The steering wheel has a volume switch.
It's for passenger use. Driver does it via steering wheel.
Garbage interior. Cheap displays the wrong places. As an owner of 3 prius I am totally disappointed in the new version. Lazy engineering.
Let’s be honest, no one wants that car 😂
EVERYONE wants that car...try to find one at a dealer!

This aged like milk. New Prius demand is insanely high. Hard to find. Motor trend car of the year.
