  • Need to replace an ugly sky? Let's take care of that. We'll go over how to select your sky and get a perfect selection so that you can use just about any sky you want for your photos.
    I tried a new editing style for this video. Kinda inspired by Ian Hubert's Lazy tutorials. I wanted to make a quick and fast-paced tutorial while still covering everything you need to know about sky replacements in Affinity Photo. I hope you found this helpful. Thanks for watching

    Michael, that was a GREAT tutorial. Man, you did that so easily and so quickly, and darn if it doesn't make a difference. Thanks for the vid, and the wisdom!

    Very useful. I had to think about how to add the sky ima=ge and found I needed to use "Place". Thanks for this.

    Awesome tutorial! I didn’t know you could refine your selection like that, I usually just use the magic wand tool and zoom in really close on smaller objects. This will save so much time and effort on making selections!

      Thank you! I know when I found out about refining your selection my mind was kinda blown. I wish I had known about it sooner in my career. It really does save a ton of time

    Thank you for another excellent tutorial!
    Well, I was planning to share a Creative Cloud subscription with a friend after University - to make it less expensive of course. Now I found Affinity as a great alternative to Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Kinda hard to decide if I want to leave the Adobe world as I worked with Photoshop for almost 8 years now, but the price of Affinity is very attractive.
    Nevertheless, glad to have found your channel! You just gained a new sub and I will recommend you if I really decide to switch to Affinity :)

    When it comes to editing I have trouble adding 2+2. I'm working through your tutorial (and it's going quite well) up to the selection, mask, invert mask. Then it just sort of leaps to import new sky. Am I missing a link here because I'm not making that jump? Appreciate any help you've got for this step.

    Thanks for this tip --I used it for a tracked Milkyway image and foreground. I'm not sure if you have other ways around for MW but this was good way around.

      Can't say I have messed around with astrophotography, but I assume the principles would be the same

    at 1:16 how did you import image?

    • @MichaelSturgill
      @MichaelSturgill  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just by dragging and dropping it into the canvas. You could also go up to File>Place and import it that way as well
