    Apart from the obviously infuriating scam itself, another thing I've noticed about these scammers is that they spend the ill-gotten money mostly on luxury items. You scammed people in such a cruel manner just to get yourself a fancy handbag and some earrings? Also, her response to the question 'Did the birth mother Stacey even exist?' was 'In my heart, she did'. That's the most self-absorbed admission of guilt I've ever had! I doubt she has the capacity to be truly remorseful.

    • @ComedyLoverGirl
      @ComedyLoverGirl ปีที่แล้ว

      Everything about her screams psychopath. She's impulsive, narcissistic, manipulative, and lacking remorse or empathy. It's easy to see why she would exploit society's most vulnerable people and then spend her ill-gotten money on luxury goods - psychopaths are egocentric, they think they are grandiose and above everyone, to them it's "me, me, me". She couldn't see anything better to spend money on than herself.

      Yes i always find it kind of strange that people put whatever effort into scamming a large amount of money but imo waste all of it on expensive holidays & designer clothes.
      I see so often when someone is caught in a fairly quick time (under 5 years) they usually don't have anything left.

    20:03 that’s quite an interesting part of the punishment; to record 40 separate victim impact statements with no mistakes. And she tries to omit portions of them and had to do it again. Good, that’s the least she could do in addition to her relatively short prison time.
    Anyway, great content as always, and I’m looking forward to the next video!

    • @dacypher22

      I have never heard anything like that before, but I love it. The judge was obviously completely frustrated by the limits of the law in what punishment he could give her and had to get creative to pile on as much punishment as he could. Also very good balancing on his part because reading out loud could not be construed as cruel or unusual punishment so it would stand up.

    • @_sunchildd

      @@ComedyLoverGirlprobably why it was so effective. If you consider the targets of the scheme, they unfortunately made the perfect marks. I just had a kid myself, but it was a rough road getting there. And people on that road are super vulnerable. Any sign of hope can end up being worth chasing, or spending money on.
      I'm with the judge, she deserved FAR more time.

  • @WobblesandBean

    Imagine having four kids, yet try to buy a snowmobile and expensive jewelry with checks you know will bounce. Also, how on earth were these people allowed to adopt children with their criminal record?

    • @GrubbJunker
      @GrubbJunker ปีที่แล้ว

      Crimes with parents/adoption agencies are always worse than any type of crime. A parent is the one thing a child trusts unconditionally.
      They are incapable of even conceiving these people are capable of betraying them. Most serial killers have shitty parents. There's a reason child molesters are despised even by hardened criminals, as many of them were abused themselves, usually by family.
      When trying to solve a problem, you go to the source. Many of society's problem can be traced to upbringing, especially those related to hate related crimes. And these are the kids that survive bad parents.
      tldr; bad parents are the cause of many of society's ills.
      P.S.: fuck this woman. Not only she must have ruined her own, she messed with honest would-be parents.

    In such cases, money is not the primary loss. The primary loss is that of hope. Of a child that will complete the family. Most people who choose adoption have previously had tragic pregnancy losses or cannot get pregnant due to medical reasons. So they have the hope of a new, happy future with the possible child and to take that away from them is just so cruel and for what ? A designer handbag ?

    Can't believe how disgusting Tara is to have taken advantage of the most vulnerable people in society to fund her conspicuous consumption. But more than that I'm appalled that this was ever allowed by law. Private adoptions should not be allowed. This is a legal decision that impacts the rest of a human being's life. Babies aren't commodities to be bought and sold privately, they're people with rights, and any plans to transfer guardianship should always be overseen by authorities, period.

    • @HavaWM
      @HavaWM ปีที่แล้ว +5

      By law, adoptive parents cannot buy a child. All they can do is pay for medical and life expenses (rent, food, appliances, etc) of the pregnant woman until she gives birth. This is simply them choosing to support a woman during her pregnancy, NOT the purchasing of the baby itself. So if the pregnant woman decides not to give the baby up for adoption after all, there’s nothing legally wrong with that.
      Morally? A whole different question.
      But legally, they cannot be compelled to give up their baby.
      If you think this is ripe for exploitation, you’d be right. 🥺

    I would trust a corpulent person with all these tattoos to tear or scan my movie or to serve me popcorn, but certainly not to handle this child situation. Not allowing surrogacy is idiocy.
