  • This is the video of the CW POTA activation in Huntsville State park, K-3053, located about an hour north of Houston. Equipment used:
    - DL2MAN & PE1NNZ's (tr)uSDX transceiver a.co/d/0FCueAf
    - EFHW antenna built from locally sourced parts at our Ham radio club
    - 6-pack of 18650 Lithium ion batteries - Ultralast LION 1865-26
    - CW key designed by K6ARK & built by a local Ham (contact me at my QRZ email if interested)
    - Aiworth 72 GB Digital Voice recorder a.co/d/iKg9ml3
    - Sony ZX Series Wired headphones a.co/d/h970dfU
    - Maxpedition Gear Beefy pack a.co/d/6cnbXYM
    This park activation took place in the early afternoon with temperatures in the lower to mid 70s.

    i learned alot from your videos ! thank you. maybe a dumb question, but is it possible to learn CW using the trusdx somehow? instead of buying a learning device?

      Thank you for the comment. Yes, in my opinion the (tr)uSDX is good for learning CW. It lets you pick a straight key or an “Iambic” key which is a fancy word for paddles. If you pick Iambic key you can then select the speed for the key, e.g. 15 WPM. You can then set transmission power to zero and use the (tr)uSDX as a practice oscillator.
