    Thank You, good video.. Another simple test if wiring is good is simply putting an ohm meter (multimeter) across the two terminals on the coil to check resistance, I believe my 03 liberty is between .6 and .9 ohms across the terminals. Secondary resistance, between either connector and the coil terminal that clips to the spark plug is between 6000 and 9000 ohms, an open circuit or too high or low ohms would indicate bad coil. No excuses for not owning a Multimeter, inexpensive ones are cheaper than lunch at a drive thru.

    Working on cars for 20 years , in Arizona the heat dries most wires. In case of misfire & bad circuit , most time it is all at ones or at least 2 thing . spark plugs , wire , coils , and injectors. Replace part & or Cleaning wires connector is rarely needed

    A po206 has nothing to do with the coils. The po206 sets when the pcm sees a change in voltage at the injector rather it be in the pigtail or the injector itself so I’m not understanding how swapping coils had anything to do with it unless there was a bad connection that you somehow bumped and fixed when swapping coils.

    • @alialwahaibi1234
      @alialwahaibi1234 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I got the P0205 code now 5 times and each time the dealership says something, took it to a local mechanic checked the coils and guess what! Coil #5 was going haywire and it was the issue all along.

      That's exactly it!

    • @rpruneau68
      @rpruneau68 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@alialwahaibi1234 Then it should be reading a P0305 Code; Cylinder 5 misfire. For misfire codes it is typically easiest to swap coils to see if the misfire changes cylinders or remains. If the latter, additional testing for bad wires/plug and injector will be required. P0205 code is an injector control circuit fault code and should be independent of ignition coil and plug issues but certainly may cause a P0305 code as well.

    P206 / P306 : The 200 code would be a circuit meaning most likely the coil.
    The 300 would be mechanical such as the spark plug or the fuel injector.
    I think you said you had a P206 at the beginning of the video so you should have realized that it was the coil from the beginning?

    • @stephenwhite5444
      @stephenwhite5444 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      P0206 is for "injector circuit malfunction".....the real question is why the coil had anything at all to do with it....the coil and injector are not tied together.
      The 306 code is just a general misfire code on cyl 6....which certainly could have been the coil. Maybe it had two issues on that cyl.

    • @rpruneau68
      @rpruneau68 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Your terminology is too vague. a P020X code is an injector control fault code and associated with an INJECTOR coil and its circuitry, including ECM/PCM; whereas, a P030X is a misfire code and may be associated with a myriad of items including an IGNITION coil / wires / plugs; fuel delivery, compression issues or a number of other sensor related problems. A P020X is quite specific; whereas a P030X is broad and may also be triggered by a P020X code.

    Hi thanks for the vid it was very informative, I'm having a similar issue with my caravan 05. It's giving codes p0202- 04. I switched those two injectors I also switched the wire harness it's still giving off the same two codes. I'm wondering if I may have to purchase a new wire harness which is quite expensive.

    • @HewnfromtheMountain
      @HewnfromtheMountain  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to switch with a good injector. If you're getting the same code, then it is your wiring. If more than one injector is faulty, then there are some good videos on youtube about testing your injectors using your battery. I ended up changing the injectors because I took some off, and all the seats just crumbled.

  • @jackjeckal88
    @jackjeckal88 2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

    Your injectors gets power from the pcm not the ignition coils....your injectors work like a solenoid when it fails it either isn't getting power or it loses resistance. Your codes went away because you disconnected grounds.....stop giving mechanical advice if you don't know what you are talking about especially when you don't know what things are called...signed a real mechanic

    • @wb3161
      @wb3161 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it would have a P030 and then whatever the number is for that cylinder if it’s a misfire code and the P020 and the number for the cylinder means the injector has an open circuit

  • @stephenwhite5444
    @stephenwhite5444 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Are you sure it was P206 code? 206 is for cyl 6 injector circuit malfunction and code 306 is for general misfire on cyl 6.
    What you described and what fixed it, sounds like it would have been code p0206......mine has both codes so I'm trying to get it figured out.

    I currently have a p0203 cylinder 3 injector stuck open circuit.. 2002 Dodge ram 4.7 1500 w/4wheel drive. It does nothing different to unplug the injector on cylinder 3and or spark plug I've changed injector swapped and changed it afterwards it didn't work either way then changed spark plugs and coil packs still said I have a code and running poorly it must be a ground somewhere? I have tried everything I've known or found online or in person asking friends anyone help?
    (Also you only have to take one side of the fuel rail off at a time as long as you have the first 2 coil pack and 4 injectors on one side you're working on and it will spin upwards 😊 )
