Wow, very impressed. Him reaching over the guitar neck for the end of the solo, grabbing the top fret from the other side, bending up to the high E note, and holds it while he throws the pick out to the audience. That, my friends, is a Rock Star.
Absolutely man! Grabbing that high e from the other side is hard enough! You’re definitely a great guitar player, I can tell! And I’m being sincere, not sarcastic. Just wanted to clarify since I’m typing this and not speaking it.
Most people became fan after first album.............then dropped them after second! Personally I couldn't stand all the hype at the time and heralding them as the saviours of British rock.
Dude actually sounds pretty close to the way he did in the studio recording 20 years ago, kinda nuts, can definitely hear a little strain in the super high parts though
Listen to *Justin’s* singing on any of The Darkness’ albums from recent years and you’ll find that his voice is as good now as it ever was, they haven’t just reappeared this year..
@@andytraverse I’ll have to do that, I’m a pretty new fan, found out about them from his TH-cam channel and wondering who he was. Unfortunately missed them at their peak seeing as I was born only 2 years before this record came out
Falsetto notes, like that are reinforced by the diaphragm. As we get older, the vocal folds are less pliable. While i have no doubt he still has the air to push those notes, the lack of pliability makes it harder to hit. Many singers, as they age, move into a more upper head voice, and that takes the place of the reinforced falsetto. That is, of course, unless you are king diamond. That guy still hits those damned notes….
miko1975guitar don’t take every TH-cam comment so seriously my dear. Rather than make fun of my comment why not say something nice about Justin and the boys.
Of course that's why they've been selling out stadiums and arenas around the world over the last 30 years like Maiden and Metallica..............oh hang on they haven't!
They broke up in 2007, but reformed with the original Permission to Land lineup in 2011 (they had a different bassist for One Way Ticket to Hell…) but Ed the original drummer left again in 2015 due to health issues and was replaced by none other than Rufus Taylor (son of Roger, of Queen). It’s always been the brothers and mostly Frankie too, there was just a period of time they needed away from one another and to focus on other projects like any family

Legendary move
He was originally to be a lead guitarist but couldn’t find a singer.
3:30 that is rock and roll in a nano second, rip the neck, overhand a bend to perfect pitch and throw the pick into the crowd JH is a monster of rock
wow, i'm impressed that after all these years they are still playing at the original octave and he's hitting those notes just fine
Not just one of the best singers Ive heard in years but a bloody good guitarist to boot.
Getting a fucking good drummer has absolutely revolutionised this band. Rufus is a monster
They never had a bad drummer. Eddie had a great groove.
I think this is one of the best songs ever made
lol
You need to listen to more music
@@willlloyd9480 No I don’t Need to listen to any more music, and it’s my own opinion 😀
👍
Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction played the intro better and long before they did
2 things: Justin sounds incredible live, and the sound guy(or gal) did an amazing job.
I was gonna say the same thing. Whoever was mixing all of this did a killer job.
Theyre tight and on form so gooood
Great frontman. Takes most of the heavy lifting off the shoulders of the other guys and allows them to just jam out. Looks like such a great show.
Seeing them Tuesday for the first time, but been a fan since their first album. This song is when I first heard of them.
Most people became fan after first album.............then dropped them after second! Personally I couldn't stand all the hype at the time and heralding them as the saviours of British rock.

He’s got a dope fuckin podcast
Rock with the fun factor - you can't help but love the darkness 🎸😀
This song is almost 20 years old, where the fuck did the time go
Saw them live in Amsterdam in the Melkweg years ago. Still to this day the best live show ever.
Great band,I love this band since the first albums came out. I still have 2 albums
I saw them at rock city Nottingham just as the first album came out, that night I lost my voice. Fantastic gig!
3:27 coolest thing I’ve ever seen!
I can throw a teabag over my shoulder into a mug from about 10ft away. 😛

Camberwell86 ok maybe it’s the second coolest thing 😁
Still a sick song after all these years!
I have to admit, they do sound awesome.

Admit away mate! 👍👏💪
Oraley billy. Simon? Que no? Andale guey
Awezome to see them back always loved thiz band
one of the alltime great live bands
You need to get out more 🤣

Hard to believe this song is almost 20 years old
Still hitting those high notes.
Gotta respect a band that still plays the songs that made them big. Typically they won’t be their favorites to play.
Real music 🤘🔥👍❤🇨🇦
Damn I really hope they’re back for good, need some good news!
Been back since 2012 ish, six albums at least
Saw them live in Seattle at the FunHouse back when they first went on tour….awesome.
Great vocal on this one 👍
Why aren’t the as big as Foo fighters?? They should be in stadiums
Brilliant.
Awesome!
These guys are Rockstars.
BRILLIANT!!
Best band in the world
I agree fpr sure
Ma che bravo!!!
Still got the chops to smash them high notes. Awesome!
Seeing them next week, can't wait 🤘
Im looking forward for you!!
Just realised you would've alrwady seen them by now, i hope it was wprth the wait and you had a nice time
love the ending!! haha
Terrific!
I need that Ensemble
The chord progression is legendary
Suffolk's finest...😎
How is there NOT a Gibson Les Paul Darkness signature model.
Whoooo!
And they have the spawn of one of the gods on drums now too : )
Monster bass sound.
I agree, the bass is incredible
Middle aged people can still rock like fuck. I was very impressed 🤟
what? lol acdc were fucking 70 selling out 100k capacity stadiums these guys are in their 40s
Roll on Manchester Academy next Friday!
Simplesmente demais 😃
I’m sorry but he’s such an underrated musician.
Justin Hawkins rides again, ladies
Great : )
Wow, i didn't know Omar Rodriguez Lopez plays the bass now for The Darkness.
I see you bro. I said the same thing. Hahaha. Funny
3:27 That was such a cool move.
Lots of fun. They remind me of Slade. 😁
Hit the nail on the head there!!!
Rock n Roll...
Those Les Paul’s always sound better than everyone else’s.
Max ostro's brother on bass!
Haha
If you love live music, then what's not to like
I cant think of a single thing what not to like
Holy Cow I've been drooling over that white Les Paul for a LONG time....
Justin Hawkins is a really talented guy.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🌞
Fuck yes!
I just found out that the drummer of the Darkness is the son of Roger Taylor from Queen. Crazy.
Love the whole darkness thing just don’t know why they didn’t carry on going bigtime, longevity maybe
Rufus definitely got his chops from his dad.....although he hits a hell of a lot harder than the old man ever did. He's damn solid.
They are a funny band .
Bass player reminds me of my old geography teacher.
Maybe it is him and you just dont know😏
Wow....ppl still actually like this band?! Amazing. So much better bands out there. Didn't realise they had any relevance left lol. Each to their ow
As a guitarist I can tell he is an excellent musician so not surprising they are still relevant..
Chertsey's finest!!
When he said bouncing time I thought he said bouncer time cause someone was about to get kicked out lol
How is he still so young ?
Sober living for 14 years and being a vegan would help
How'd they get The Weeknd to join and play bass? 🤩
It always bothered me that Justin didn’t play guitar through 75% of the track. The verses and chorus lack punch in a live setting.
This is so ROCK that all my gonads exploded!
Thats cool!
@@charlottewilliams5601 well it was until clean up time.

I think Growing on Me, is definitely as good a song, if not better, as this
Give their album ‘Permission to Land’ a listen. Pretty solid all the way through.
@@daron9229 perhaps but all went belly up on the second album. I suspect they believed all the hype and of course the drugs won't have helped.

I thought they hate each other now? Or is this like a Axel Rose situation where it's just the singer with a completely different band lineup?
