We have an air-over-hydraulic 50 ton press at work, they are so much handier than having to crank. Good upgrade!

    Great video
Looks like the new jack will definitely speed up making the candle holders.
Also enjoy the shop tour. Nice set up.

I put a foot pedal on mine so I had both hands free to use to hold parts and align things. nice job

Does your foot pedal add air and releases air? This is SUPER if so.

@@rtoons77 I justs adds air, and I put a large tee handle on the release valve. And a lot of times I use the air to get some pressure on the press then hand pump so I have a better feel for pressure exerted on the part.

Good upgrade Mr. Lee. You will enjoy the convenience of compressed air vs. hand pumps. Be well.

Excellent production Lee. Like you I always wanted to do this with my cherry picker. Like your press also it does not get used all that much but it is something i always Wanted to do. Just a few weeks ago I finally did it. I ordered my jack from Northern but they all seem to be about the same. I was surprised how much air it takes to make the full 18" stroke but hey I am old and I deserve to pamper myself. Lol. Thanks for taking time to produce this video for all of us.

Great video, I also left my springs on and put a foot pedal in the system. I am not sure how to do it but , I thought putting something around those spring in case one broke might contain the spring. I saw one example where someone use cable and a crimp. I may be over thinking the whole thing, I do not see it done on any video I watch. Thank You Wayne

Last week we had a virtual pollen storm and all of the red vehicles turned gold. My sinuses also turned gold for the Kleenex company. I bet their stock would have gone up two points if it had not been for the Corona. Oh nice jack.

Great video, thanks! Has anyone inverted an air-hydraulic jack? I'd like to put the jack body between the cross-beams on my soon-to-be-press, to get a bit more headroom, and inverting a hand-pumped jack is pretty simple - would it likely be just flipping the air pump on a couple of fittings?

    Thanks for the video!
One thing to know is that the air pump (or air motor) beside the cylinder can STOP WORKING. Mine did and and don't know why. Zero info on the web so must be rare. (And, Yep, I got rid of any entrapped air, took apart and examined the air pump and cannot find anything wrong, at all. Just does not work. Anything is extra-expensive when it does not do what you bought if for.

I added a 120 v valve that shuts off when I flip the breaker off. Then you have the air supply sut off to the shop automatically. Just a thought

I didn't think that pex could handle the air pressure. But it looks great.

I want to release the valve to let the air out without turning the value release knob. I use it to press hot steel and I need to quickly release air, reposition hot metal and then add air to press the metal again. Any ideas of how to release air when no input air pressure is detected. If this is not possible maybe a handheld trigger release! I would enjoy a pedal that adds air when the foot pedal is pressed and releases air when the foot pedal is released. This is the best of all options. I have the same jack you just demonstrated.

Hmmm, not sure how that would work on a press that uses a standard style hydraulic jack. Thanks for stopping by.

Your coughing...have you been tested?? LOL A great upgrade for the press, but like you said it will eat a lot of air. Great video,

nice modification!!!...if you have seen standard springs on overhead garage doors the spring has a retainer if the spring breaks when stretched....seems like these press springs would benefit with a safety restraint....pls understand...not a safety nut...just an observation.....ATB
