Thank you so much Pat! 😊 Yes the lake was so still, it looked a bit surreal! Have you read any of the books? They are a bit more on the entertainment side, but with a bit to depth to them as well. Just how I like it!
@@ellenmadebookclub I have not read any of these, though Yellow Face has been on my radar. Ive heard great things about Seven Husbands...too. Someday...😊
Thank you Bryndis! 😊 They were great, mostly! Just make sure it's The Maiden (singular) and not The Maidens - different book all toghether 😅 (and not as good, in my opinion!)
I really wanted to do a video outside, but it hasn't really worked out for me. Our weather is really back and forth between warm and cold as well. I want to read The Maiden - sounds intriguing!
Yeah it can be a challenge for sure! Sounds and wind and people and cold and rain haha I felt very brave 😅 Yeah I thought it was great! I’m not sure if it’s exceptionally unique or anything, but well made and enjoyable and that’s all I can ask for 😊 Let me know if you read it (well, in a video and I’ll see it!)
Yes! There were parts of it that I enjoyed but omg… it felt a bit one note. I’m glad I finished it so that I don’t have to doubt my own opinion about it 😄 Thank you so much! You are very welcome to stick around, happy to have you here! More reviews coming soon 😊
Loved this video! I love mythology retellings as well! I will read Stone Blind on your recommendation 🙂. I would like to read Babel sometime this year.
That makes me happy to hear, thank you ☺️ Yes Stone Blind was great, really recommend the audio. I hope you’ll like it. I think you will :) Me too, it’s a big one though!
@@ellenmadebookclub I have the audiobook in my library app 💥💥 I read Circe and the Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. The Song of Achillies was much better for me. I also read the Silence of the Girls and Women of Troy by Pat Barker. Both were good but I liked the Women of Troy better 😉
@@BernasBookishAdventures Perfect! There aren’t many audiobooks in English at my library unfortunately, but BookBeat works great too 😊 I have yet to read Song of Achilles and look forward to that! I haven’t heard of the other ones, I’ll need to look those up 😊
Great wrap up! I’ve read the first two (really enjoyed both and absolutely love TJR as an author in general) and just added the second two to my TBR! 😊🎉
Thank you! 😊 Did you read a physical book or listen to Yellowface? I’m thinking audio was a bad choice for that one but I have no comparison. The others were great, I hope you get to them at some point 🌷
@@ellenmadebookclub I listened to the audio for Yellowface and really enjoyed it!! So I can’t help you there, haha. Oh and the audiobook for Daisy Jones and The Six was so good, highly recommend it if you do ever decide to read that one. And yes hopefully I can get to those other two as I’m slowly chipping away at my intimidating TBR 😆
@@LibrariesandLattes Haha ok, maybe it’s just me then ^^ the tone of voice was driving me crazy! Yes I would prefer to listen to Daisy Jones, if I can find it.
@@ellenmadebookclub Totally valid!! I binged it pretty quickly so maybe I just didn’t really notice, haha. And yay, hope you can find Daisy Jones on audio and hope you love it! 😊
It's lovely, but a lot nicer in the summer! A bit sloshy this time of year ^^ Oh interesting! I'm really looking forward to Malibu Rising, I've had it for over year now, I don't why I haven't gotten to it. And for some reason I also have some unexplained resistance toward Carrie Soto is Back -- What is it with all this resistance against TJR books?! 😂 I t hink I have some anti-trend gene that's giving me trouble, I don't know...
@@ellenmadebookclub Haha I understand being anti-trend! I find myself going through spells of wanting to try the popular books and other times thinking they probably won't be great or otherwise won't live up to the hype. But also, maybe TJR may not be for you and that's ok too!
@@BonnieNicoleWrites Yes, me too. I think I have it my head that I'm somehow different from the norm, so I must not enjoy what the normal people like.... I don't know. It's not as though I don't like the big TV shows or movies, so I'm really not that special. It's probably some revenge from when I grew up and never had the trendy stuff, so now I refuse just to take the power back! 😂 I really liked Evelyn Hugo though! So I'm hoping TJR will prove me wrong again!
Excellent reviews of all of the books! I really like your background too. What a beautiful setting! Well done...

These books all sound interesting, especially The maidens, I need to read that one for sure. Love your background 😊

100% agree about Yellowface. I found it repetitive. I wish I'd DNF'd it. Great reviews, I look forward to watching more.

What a beautiful nature reserve!
I liked Malibu Rising better than Daisy Jones and Evelyn Hugo. And I liked Carrie Soto is Back (also by TJR).
