Danny, watch your video tips this morning and took them to the driving range this afternoon. Major improvement with the driver compared to last weeks practice session. Straighter drives and longer distance. Thanks for making this game a little easier for me today.
Will work on it - I personally don't use any of your practice plans, but watch those clips of interest several times while practicing some weeks long. Your explanations are worth spending a small bit of gratitude every time and again. Hope many more of your followers and "unknown students" will make their way and pay back to you this way - at least a bit.
I've been golfing for 4 or 5 years. And every time I evolve, I need to change TH-cam instructor! I really feel that at the level I am now, you are answering my next goals. Great content 👌 thanks for your help
I watch your videos almost every day. And I take those lessons to the course. I went from shooting almost 30 over (on 18 holes) to 10 over. Quite the improvement so I’m impressed. I’m still fading the ball more than I want and I’m not quite getting the distance I want… but small improvements are victories! Thank you sir!!
Danny, I want to thank you very much for this video. I’ve been really struggling for any distance and slicing the life out of it all year. I took your advice about grip and club face positioning and today hit between 30-50 yards longer and straight! Massive difference that I can now repeat. There were a few left pulls but I can work on that
Simple yet exactly what I needed to understand. All the things I’ve been shown have overcomplicated everything to the point I didn’t know what I was supposed to be achieving. Thanks for a great video.
Seen many videos with golf teachers hitting a sack and now I finally understood it due to the hip move and I tried it at the range this morning and it made a big difference. Thanks from Sweden!
Danny I have to say that this video and your recent video on how to strike your irons, with a first person view of wrist action and your explanations of body movement are 2 of the best instructional videos I have seen. The first person view from your eyes is such a light bulb moment for me, to get clarity on what my wrists should be doing to get it “right” at and through impact. The box exercise with driver is simple but wow how effective re immediate feedback. Again brilliant instructional videos. Thank you.
Arguably one of the best ever video on driver swing I have seen. This along with the video two weeks ago are must see and have changed my driver swing for the better.
Danny I’ve watched a lot of your video but this one is loaded with information. I can’t wait to practice this one. My driver is my consistent club in my bag. I rarely miss fairways and get good distance but could use a tad, not much, more distance. I wish I could come see you in person. I’m a visual person, it would be so nice to have you videotape and analyze my swing. You are an excellent instructor for a good student like me. Again, thank you for your channel. ❤
Danny is the only one I follow when it comes to tweaking/learning my game. Straightforward simple instructions.. Just need the discipline to master it :)
Thanks Danny, I haven't played regularly in quite sometime. I am starting to play more but I am struggling. I hope these videos can give me what I need to get back to fun golf. I will watch and view every video you have...
This updated video has really been helpful to me. I very often pull to the left. I now have clear focus on the square face at strike, feeling the right moves during warm up swings, plus allowing the the head to snap through at impact instead of steering it has given me more consistency. I now know what I did wrong if the outcome is poor.
Great explanation and tip as always Danny, filming yourself is a real eye opener, been working on my swing over winter and thought I was implementing your instructions to make changes, but first golf trip away with mates and driver was filmed, although hitting better, watching myself I can see so many areas for improvement because of your tutorials
It always feels like you’re doing it until you see the film. I’ve yet to actually make the swing I want to make no matter how hard I try. I always come out of my swing with driver. And I hit it really well. It’s just not terribly consistent.
You are by far the best trainer on TH-cam! I have gained a lot of insight into my own game by watching your videos and following your excellent and easy to follow tips. Bravo and keep up the good work.
Hi Danny! I ran into one of. your driver videos and it was on takeaway of the club. Just working on the reverse grip swings and Split hand drill for 1/2 hr, I played a round and what a difference I saw in my BALL STRIKING!! Going to work on the other parts including downswing etc. Much encouraged!! Greatly appreciate your teaching style-CLEAR and SUCCINT!! Visual and FEEL!! 🙏🕉 Mahendra
Hi Danny. Seems like only yesterday I was congratulating you for 400K subscribers, and here you are with 701k - well done and well deserved. Definitely the most understandable and enjoyable golf coaches out there!
I've only just seen this video & I have to say that the box idea is absolutely brilliant! I tried the drill 10 times before I could see the tee. Needless to say, I was turning & moving forwards so was coming over the top. This gives you instant feedback & allows you to start correcting your impact position. Simply brilliant!
Took this straight to the golf course and saw a marked improvement straight away, I did mess up on a few of my Tee shots as can be expected but still managed to improve from my last round by 9 shots. The issue for me was my hands too far in front. Thanks for the tips!
hands down, the best video on YT on this subject...i was a twister-heaver trying to wrestle my club round and getting away over the top...the feeling of the clubhead firing after following this drill is awesome and the strike I'm getting is lovely...just need to start turning the juice up a bit and getting some more clubhead speed! thanks Danny
"Just small shots to start with" and he hits a 260+ seed down the middle of the fairway with a hold-off finish. I'd take that all day long!!! Thanks for another great lesson, Danny.
I smiled as I had the same thought--my straight drives go 270-290, and I have maybe 3-4 per round at this stage--ironically, one of those is usually on the first tee when I'm still not "swinging full." There's a lesson in there, me thinks, as in how to internalize the notion that that good swing on the first tee is to be repeated--not outdone.
We are on the brink of civil war and world war, Golfers are on the brink of learning how to swing a golf club....... a few decades behind schedule guy's But if I want to sleep I'll turn on golf or cricket
Danny, thank you for another insightful lesson. I particular liked the view from head looking down at the wrists. I find that I really need to focus on managing the wrists through the hitting zone to get a good feel on how to square the club face better. Perhaps a more focused session on this, with the camera exclusively showing the view of your wrists, and how they rotate through the swing zone, as you see it from your eyes, might be worth considering, as I think this would help a lot of golfers understand what we should be doing. Love the box drill. Thanks again.
at the range today i watched 3 or 4 videos from you Danny and implemented each one and changed my swings from garbage to absolute gold, thank you for what you do, making it affordable to enjoy this game and learn.
Great video. Thank you. Getting a new hip in ten days. Can't wait to work on this later this summer after the doc clears me to start swinging clubs again.
Great instruction! I notice how all of the really good instructors always make it look so easy and natural. But I'm definitely going to try this box drill. I have a problem hooking my driver, and I'm looking forward to trying this and seeing if I can fix it.
Another great video Danny. I love the way you stay true to the core techniques you teach, but also keep it fresh, like adding the box. I’m full of covid at the moment so no golf this weekend. 🙁
This is massive for me, the feeling of the club releasing and getting ahead of my eyes, the snap etc, has improved my driver a lot, and this video reinforces the value in doing that. It also keeps my elbows tight together and to my body; my on course miss when I have more tension is the lead elbow separating from my body, I guess this would be guiding the shaft through - leading me to hit a big block. Love your teaching style.
Always struggled with the Driver, so much so that I have almost abandoned it completely. Keen to try this to see if it can help. This together with the "painting a circle and splatter the paint" are great videos for visualisation, thanks Danny.
Thanks for another great video Danny! This is just what a pro told me to do after watching me hit balls. To me it feels like I need to make an early release of the club (vs. almost no release). It's given me greater distance and height than before for all my clubs. All the best Danny!
Exacy what I needed, having spent time on getting more speed with my driver last week, only to find my shots ended up everywhere except down the centre. This will be a great help.
Danny, I shoot in the low 90s and your video (light bulb moment) spoke to me so thank you. Amazing when you see and hear instruction and it finally sinks in. Looking to take it to the driving range and work on your tips.
Great lesson, Danny. I am a fan. There was a backswing lesson associated with this that I watched but didn't get the link. It was takeaway with fingers of right hand to set up lag.
Hello Danny. Love your video and tips on how to release the driver. Still not able to hit balls on the outdoor range where i live yet due to cold weather and strong winds. But i did get to hit some balls and video my swings and i was really surprised cos my swing was not even close to what i expected and very awful looking swings 😁😅 but my balls were going straight about 240 yds almost everytime. Now i will definitely work on your tips and drills here and hope to improve on my swing when the weather gets warmer. Thank you so much Danny!
Excellent video Danny on cocking and uncocking the wrists in the golf swing! Your demonstration was "spot on" in what I'm trying to accomplish in my swing. I have the wrist hinge right and your video showed me the proper arm and body position to generate speed at impact! I will be archiving this video for future viewing!
The Superb driver lesson was up there in your best. I’d prefer to buy you a bitter in a pub, but this will have to do! Thanks from Sam in San Diego, CA
I hope you are saving these all up for a boxed set, they are utterly brilliant lessons, and your teaching methods are expert aside from the golf elements - explain, demonstrate, prove, recap, set work - students have real take-aways not just words. Seriously professional training. Thank you!!
The provenance of these brilliant tips is always fascinating. Montie’s coach Bill Ferguson is the old master credited here but it’s hard to imagine he would have explained the impact position better than this. The Maudemeister in top form here. .
Great video Danny I struggle so much with driving will be trying everything in the video straight away, wish I could get the distance of you tap shots I’d be more than happy with that 😀
Well, I found you a couple-three weeks ago, and you’re making a lot of sense to me, helping diagnose some irksome quirks. However, as I’m coming into all this on the fly, I’m seeing quite a few older videos mixed in with newer ones. Do you have a good list of videos to watch in sequence for someone coming from a kind of newbie perspective? Thanks for putting these together.
Well i tried this out today Danny and by snapping my right wrist through the ball just before the impact zone and hovering the club infront of the ball instead of resting the bottom of the club on the ground it made a dramatic difference. I decided to play 9 holes but carried on and finished 18 because i had so much fun driving off the tee today . I was blown away when my garmin s62 read 255 yards when it normaly reads 225. My ball flight was more mid flight rather than high . Thx for these feeling tips it certainly did add distance and i found 70 % more fairways today. Much appreciated Danny . #Dannymaudegolf ⛳👍💥💪
Thanks Danny, I can really relate to this lesson. I can generate good club head speed and distance but spray the ball too often. Will take this lesson to the driving range and focus more on contact, not distance. Cheers.
Another great video clearly explained and part of a great series. I have been basically doing this for a couple of weeks after watching previous videos and trying to think. I found I was hanging back on right, and remembered to turn back but then swung inside losing the face completely. Making sure I didn’t hang back, hit through and feeling the club face through my wrist position (and doing the pre hit routine of this is what I want it to feel like) just worked brilliantly. Thanks Danny.
Best teacher in the game, Danny. Thank you for these videos that you give away... I have to remind myself to "throw the clubhead" at the ball when I'm not striking or getting any distance from my clubs. Unfortunately, it's usually on hole 6 or 7 when I realize what I'm not doing.
The box prop provides excellent visual cues for proper contact through the impact stage. Also appreciate the additional psychology of driver vs irons swing.
Another great instructional video. I'm still new to this game and just picked up my first driver and slice it well over 80% of the time. one of my golf buddies told me that I get my hips too far ahead of my swing and that is resulting in a open face. Also, have too much old baseball finish (on my back foot and leaning back). will give this drill a try to slow things down and square that face. Thanks you do a great job.
Love this!!! I just had shoulder and bicep tendon surgery in February and I am just starting with 1/2 to 3/4 punch shots! This video goes great with that because you are getting straight max distance for those punch shots as you feel the move through impact! Great video and I needed this today!
Excellent video! I've been struggling with the driver. The video you did with your Dad, where you had him rotate his shoulder and hips a bit open in the stance really started to make a difference for me (slicer). But even with that I have difficulty squaring the club face. I feel like the drills in this one will help with that issue. Thanks for these and all your videos. A great help for us.
@@DanielMaude After struggling with a driver slice for years, using your instruction and a few practice sessions, I finally realized that my left arm was breaking down during the down swing causing me to cut across the ball. If I'm mindful of keeping my arms straight in both up and down swing (extension), I am able to hit some consistently good shots. Either straight or a nice draw. I have a bit more confidence, and my miss is now more of a hook 😃... I hope this thinking sounds right to you. Thanks again.
Thanks Danny, the idea of visualizing the angle of the shaft at impact is so simple but powerful. This has been a game changer for me. I appreciate your knowledge and style. Well done!
Keep it really simple to start with. Start with the short game and build it up from there here’s a great start th-cam.com/video/BmIqQznL-18/w-d-xo.html
Really great information! The driver is a constant pain point for me (victories & the inevitable defeat of inconsistency). Thanks for the guidance on this.
My god this video was tremendously helpful and hit the most important point, body position and feel at impact. I been struggling with the driver for years, this has helped me greatly
I have been practicing your tip for the irons you gave two weeks ago, Made a great improvement with distance and accuracy. Did not manage with the driver though, but your explanation what changes you have to do for the driver makes good sense. Will have a go at the box ASAP. You're the best. Thank you.
Love the box drill! Your lessons are the most practical guide out there. A great way to get those first learning to get through the ball off the tee. Now to be able to just tap the ball 260yds plus! Many thanks for a great lesson.
Danny, I loved the video you did on irons but because I’m hitting them pretty well and now working with my driver I’m very excited for the new video. Thanks!
The effortless 270 is mind blowing. I have plenty of power but my driver is a liability because of my poor mechanics. Beautifully explained, I’m looking forward to bringing this to the course!
Absolutely awesome video, I was frustrated with my driver accuracy and after watching this video, it straightened out almost instantly! Thank you Danny!
Just filmed myself Co inside with this episode playing. It’s Great visually for me to see the over the top swing is disappearing an club head dropping ! More repetition of this swing for the muscle memory. Can’t wait to see the improvements on my swing over the next few weeks now Cheers Danny 👏😎
Thanks yet another Danny. You have my word I'm going to do these drills at the same time I'll remember you with the tennis racket, the rope and all the stuffs even the new box I always carry on my golf bag following your advices.... Good week!
Danny - you’re videos are spot on. And - I will implement this drill. But - please help me understand what “casting” is? If it’s not throwing the club like you demonstrate here - what is it? I looked thru previous comments and couldn’t find any related to this. Chris
Amazing how many times one of your lessons corresponds with one of my issues that I am working on. I found for myself that my grip, especially my right (lower) hand was turned underneath into a very strong position. When I swung "correctly" I hit a hook. After that everything was a series of compensations. With a neutral grip I am able to hit straight(er) shot when I give a full release. I love the way you show the release as a vertical motion. It provides a great image and feel.
This was really helpful. Going through the difference in the iron shot was really great, because that called out something I knew was wrong but didn't realize when i had suddenly lost 70 yard on my driver. I've been subconsciously swinging it like a 5 iron. Thanks Mr. Maude! Can't wait to apply this in the backyard into the net.
Another superb but simple idea Danny. I went to the range the other day and tried using the rope to create a better swing combined with this catapult concept and it’s made a massive difference to my game. Looking forward to trying this one. Although I’m sure I’ll get some funny looks as I set my shoe box up!
Just came across this video from a year ago, took my phone to the range at my club and has helped me with my turn away from the ball and am now hitting the driver with confidence , thanks, simple to understand. Don't tell my pros LOL
Just gotta say that with all of the driver instruction I have followed I still was not comfortable with the results UNTIL your take away move with the right gluteus going back and loaded has revolutionised my drives. I now have to only be aware of the tendency to go too much to the left, but 90% of drives now straight down the shute or a slight fade; all of that with better distance. Bless you my man. When are you coming up to Scotland ?
At last! Teaching the earlier release with driver. Been watching Marcus Edblad teach this for quite a while...Swedish long drive champ. So knows a few things about driver.
Danny, thanks, this is a great drill, one of the best I have tried to sort out my driver. Put into practice this afternoon, honestly what a difference. Simple, clear and very effective. Excellent advice. Thanks again.
Don’t know how I missed this gem last year. So simple. Will have to watch again. Thanks!
Thanks for supporting the channel
Danny, watch your video tips this morning and took them to the driving range this afternoon. Major improvement with the driver compared to last weeks practice session. Straighter drives and longer distance. Thanks for making this game a little easier for me today.

Danny, I want to thank you very much for this video. I’ve been really struggling for any distance and slicing the life out of it all year. I took your advice about grip and club face positioning and today hit between 30-50 yards longer and straight! Massive difference that I can now repeat. Bill is a true master, would love to get him on the channel
Great video Danny I struggle so much with driving will be trying everything in the video straight away, wish I could get the distance of you tap shots I’d be more than happy with that 😀
Let me know how you get on Gary 👍
Well, I found you a couple-three weeks ago, and you’re making a lot of sense to me, helping diagnose some irksome quirks. However, as I’m coming into all this on the fly, I’m seeing quite a few older videos mixed in with newer ones. Do you have a good list of videos to watch in sequence for someone coming from a kind of newbie perspective? Thanks for putting these together.
Hi Danny. Great video, explanation and lesson and so easy to follow without the graphics…first class.
Thanks for taking the time to feedback
Awesome break down of the impact position. Thank you for the great videos and information Danny
You are very welcome Russel, all the best
Well i tried this out today Danny and by snapping my right wrist through the ball just before the impact zone and hovering the club infront of the ball instead of resting the bottom of the club on the ground it made a dramatic difference. I decided to play 9 holes but carried on and finished 18 because i had so much fun driving off the tee today . I was blown away when my garmin s62 read 255 yards when it normaly reads 225. My ball flight was more mid flight rather than high .
Thx for these feeling tips it certainly did add distance and i found 70 % more fairways today.
Much appreciated Danny .

That’s so awesome, congratulations
Thanks Danny, I can really relate to this lesson. I can generate good club head speed and distance but spray the ball too often. Will take this lesson to the driving range and focus more on contact, not distance. Cheers.
That’s brilliant Trevor, let me know how it goes
Another great video clearly explained and part of a great series. I have been basically doing this for a couple of weeks after watching previous videos and trying to think. I found I was hanging back on right, and remembered to turn back but then swung inside losing the face completely. Making sure I didn’t hang back, hit through and feeling the club face through my wrist position (and doing the pre hit routine of this is what I want it to feel like) just worked brilliantly. Thanks Danny.
Awesome Colin, great to hear 🤜🏻🤛🏼
Best teacher in the game, Danny. Thank you for these videos that you give away... I have to remind myself to "throw the clubhead" at the ball when I'm not striking or getting any distance from my clubs. Unfortunately, it's usually on hole 6 or 7 when I realize what I'm not doing.
Next time take a risk and start on hole one and have some fun
The box prop provides excellent visual cues for proper contact through the impact stage. Also appreciate the additional psychology of driver vs irons swing.
Pleasure Andrew, really happy to help
That’s brilliant Paul, sounds like a great exercise for you
I've tried everything on this ,Danny is the only person that's made a massive difference to my game
You can do it Dave, love to hear how you get on
@@DanielMaude After struggling with a driver slice for years, using your instruction and a few practice sessions, I finally realized that my left arm was breaking down during the down swing causing me to cut across the ball.
Well done!
Thanks Michael 😁
Great videos, as I’m just starting out playing golf there’s a lot to take in at the minute!
Keep it really simple to start with. Start with the short game and build it up from there here’s a great start th-cam.com/video/BmIqQznL-18/w-d-xo.html
@@DanielMaude Thank you for taken the time to reply appreciate it,I shall watch the link and take note regards mac
Really great information! The driver is a constant pain point for me (victories & the inevitable defeat of inconsistency). Thanks for the guidance on this.
No problem 😁👍
Excellent! One of best golf clip on driver, vs iron too.
Glad you enjoyed it
My god this video was tremendously helpful and hit the most important point, body position and feel at impact. I been struggling with the driver for years, this has helped me greatly
Loved the driver and the box and where you should be at impact -- could you do a lesson using the box and where you are at impact for an iron shot.
Absolutely Frank
Again DM, no more need be said after watching 👏🏻👏🏻
Explained & demonstrated perfectly.
Thanks for the support George
I have been practicing your tip for the irons you gave two weeks ago, Made a great improvement with distance and accuracy. Did not manage with the driver though, but your explanation what changes you have to do for the driver makes good sense. Will have a go at the box ASAP. You're the best. Thank you.
Thanks Sverker hope the video helps with your driver 👍
Love the box drill! Your lessons are the most practical guide out there. A great way to get those first learning to get through the ball off the tee. Now to be able to just tap the ball 260yds plus! Many thanks for a great lesson.
You are very welcome Willie, all the best
Danny, I loved the video you did on irons but because I’m hitting them pretty well and now working with my driver I’m very excited for the new video. Thanks!
Awesome 😎
The effortless 270 is mind blowing. I have plenty of power but my driver is a liability because of my poor mechanics. Beautifully explained, I’m looking forward to bringing this to the course!
Absolutely awesome video, I was frustrated with my driver accuracy and after watching this video, it straightened out almost instantly! Thank you Danny!
Thanks Josh happy to help 😁
Just filmed myself Co inside with this episode playing. It’s Great visually for me to see the over the top swing is disappearing an club head dropping !
More repetition of this swing for the muscle memory. Can’t wait to see the improvements on my swing over the next few weeks now
Cheers Danny 👏😎
That’s great let me know how you get on 😁
Love your lessons and drills, best on TH-cam 🏆🏆🏆
Thanks so much for the support
Thanks yet another Danny. You have my word I'm going to do these drills at the same time I'll remember you with the tennis racket, the rope and all the stuffs even the new box I always carry on my golf bag following your advices.... Good week!
Thanks Raul appreciate the support!
One of the best instructors on YT!
Danny - you’re videos are spot on. And - I will implement this drill. But - please help me understand what “casting” is? If it’s not throwing the club like you demonstrate here - what is it? I looked thru previous comments and couldn’t find any related to this.
Chris
It’s a term that is really misunderstood. It’s often referred to the wrists releasing too early in the downswing.
That’s great George, thanks for sharing your progress
This was really helpful. Going through the difference in the iron shot was really great, because that called out something I knew was wrong but didn't realize when i had suddenly lost 70 yard on my driver. I've been subconsciously swinging it like a 5 iron. Thanks Mr. Maude! Can't wait to apply this in the backyard into the net.
Thanks that’s great to hear 😁
Always a pleasure Danny. Thank you
🙏
Great video, enjoyed your showing how to get the feels. I will put into practice.
Love to hear how you get on Mike
Another superb but simple idea Danny. I went to the range the other day and tried using the rope to create a better swing combined with this catapult concept and it’s made a massive difference to my game. Looking forward to trying this one. Although I’m sure I’ll get some funny looks as I set my shoe box up!
😂 thanks Gary let me know how you get on 👍
Great video Danny I'm working on trying to reduce the tension in my arms as its choking my swing and causes me to hang on to the club and not release.
So important to do Graeme
Just came across this video from a year ago, took my phone to the range at my club and has helped me with my turn away from the ball and am now hitting the driver with confidence , thanks, simple to understand. Don't tell my pros LOL
Hi Danny, your visual using the box is fantastic. Always look forward to your videos. Have a great easter weekend.
Pleasure matt, you too
You make it look easy , great tips again Danny
Pleasure Richard, really happy to help
Looking forward to giving this a try on my next range session. Seems simple enough...we will see.
Have fun!
"Just gonna start with a few taps." Out drives me
That's why we are all here..😀
Me to wish I could take an easy 260 off the T
At last! Teaching the earlier release with driver. Been watching Marcus Edblad teach this for quite a while...Swedish long drive champ. So knows a few things about driver.
Such good advice, everyone has different swings, all good players square at impact. 👌
Thank you
Danny, thanks, this is a great drill, one of the best I have tried to sort out my driver. Put into practice this afternoon, honestly what a difference. Simple, clear and very effective. Excellent advice. Thanks again.
You are very welcome
