    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On TH-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Honestly, i’ve watched two of your videos this week and you’ve completely changed my swing and my thought processes when it comes to the swing. I’ve always dragged the my arm across and been rubbish with driver. Now thinking the arms are lifting the club has actually made me turn naturally and hit my best ever drives. Thank you Danny, you are a genius and a brilliant teacher

The “firing down” move at 10:20 has turned my summer around! I’ve started hitting my drives and irons straight, instead of one push, one pull, one push, one pull! I have had 2 of the 3 best scores of my life this summer and have gone from 86-87-88 to 79-80-81-82 since I started firing those arms down before turning or releasing the wrist cock. Thank you, Danny!

I started watch a lot of your videos and I can tell you I have been slicing for years. I am so glad I finally can feel what a swing is supposed to feel like. After three years of youtube videos your the only one I found that actually explains clearly what the arms and body does. I was getting over the ball at the golf course worrying about the grip, my elbow, my foot position, my head down, don't swing to fast. I will take this to the range today and the only thing I will think about is not bringing my arm across my body. Awesome videos.

Danny, been watching your videos for just over a month now. Now I'm a subscriber! Your driver tips are outstanding. I'm 58yrs old, only 5'5", but now I'm hitting 250yd drives(sometimes more!) with a draw! I've never been able to do that before with any consistency. I used to be afraid of my driver, now I love it!

Looking forward to continuing to learn how to actually hit my driver proper (thanks to Danny) and get that sweet distance that you're getting at 58! Definitely appreciate hearing from older players and how they're doing. Well done, Sir. Blessings and thanks for sharing.

I've struggled for quite some time with the transition from the backswing to the forward swing with the driver, and your emphasis of working the club down, instead of around, explains a lot of what has been happening in my golf swing. Well this video was my holy grail. I suffered from getting stuck on the downswing, resulting big slices. Just got back from the range and I basically made a turn into my backswing, then swung with the arms as you described. No slices. My hips were over active as I was thought to fire them and let the arms do nothing.

I literally was practicing this today at the driving range and it was a A-ha light bulb moment for me. I was driving the ball an extra 50-75 yards. Yikes!!! Now watching this video it 100% confirms the WIDE takeaway. You beautifully pointed out how to perfect the downswing transition by firing the arms down and not around. I also made an adjustment in my grip to a weaker grip and it worked wonders and got rid of the hook. This is powerful info. Excellent training tip. Thank you!!! #Aha 💡🏌🏿

Great detail with great explanation of the “whys.” The use of the body, the position of the arms, the motion of the wrists, the shoulders. I had one practice, and the next round was very fun! Drives, fairway woods and approach irons all improved.

Just started watching your videos a few weeks ago and I’m glad I did! Been working on my swing for 20 years and this video is the little gem I needed. The key piece missing in my swing was understanding where the power generators were in the downswing. I would do the exact things you mentioned as faults when trying to generate power; rotating the hips and shoulders without setting up and firing the rotation in the upper arms/shoulders...recipe for disaster cause getting the club in the slot will be extremely difficult when not using the upper arm/shoulders properly. Anyway, went to the range and using all the things you mentioned, was able to cleanly pick the ball off the mat with my hybrid and 3 wood. Very good ball trajectory, accuracy and distance. This movement feels 100% natural. Thank you!

Danny ...... My girlfriend, who is a wonderful golfer, and a member of the Olympic Club in San Francisco has said to me that I watch too many golf videos. It's amazing how many "experts" are out there. And, I've probably watched them all. And, all I seemed to have done is create more and more "bad habits" along the way. But, this one video has cleansed my brain of all the conflicting "methods". Maintaining that space and the awareness of the arms lifting up in the backswing has changed everything for me. I thought I had to have my left arm tight across my chest and my bent right elbow tight against my rib cage. I had very little upper torso rotation and was "all arms". I thought I was creating lag when actually all I did was create a horrific slice. I know that there is no One Quick Fix, but this video has given me a solid starting place. I understand the concept and it makes sense. I know that it's a process that takes patience and persistence. Thanks for your help.

Danny Maude has the best teaching style I have encountered. Positional golf is taught, but within the overall pattern of the swing, and within a dynamic motion. This is where books can never reach you in the way video can. I wish Ben Hogan had You Tube in his day. Millions wouldn’t be swinging as they do. He had much more freedom in the swing than his books managed to convey, despite a baseball style swing, which goes with the weak grip in both hands that he adopted. I learnt to take a couple of aspirin, and not the whole bottle. Danny Maude deserves the Golf Academy slot on Sky Sports golf channel.

The results were amazing!! Typically my drives are slice, an occasional pull etc. Using this drill I was hitting them more or less straight (I had a slight push to the right) and long. Certainly much better than I have ever hit my driver. I cannot wait to get back out and keep using this drill, hopefully I will continue to see the same results. Thank you Danny!!

I've got 3 things against me: I've only started learning golf less than a year ago, I'm over 65 and 60 lbs. overweight. Teeing off was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE for me. Sometimes I'd slice. Sometimes I'd top it. Sometimes I'd hook it. After watching this video and 4 straight days of practice after work, I'm making good, solid contact sending the ball straight and true! I usually practice chipping and pitching before I practice with my driver. Yep...I watched those videos as well and I can honestly say that today my driving and chipping was so improved that two friends of mine were floored. Anyway, I just wanted to say "THANKS!"

Could you talk about the role of the lower body? It's clear that your lower body is rather active, so i know there is something in here I don't understand.

Thanks Danny, have started to practice this idea. I'm a bit stupid and need to have a feeling of what is the first thing that moves at the very start of the downswing, im a long hitter but used to be prone to a hook had a lesson and he told me the first movement should be my left hip getting out of the way and now I'm slicing it.. any ideas Danny ? Cheers

I love your videos, Danny, and this one is well explained. But I’m confused-almost everyone has taught me (both live and video lessons-maybe even yours) that the downswing begins with the hip turn because large muscles generate power. This seems to say the opposite. Can you explain this? Would I be sacrificing power for precision?

    • @jonandersen7208
      @jonandersen7208 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

My understanding is that it's a hip tilt combined with the initial arm movement to get the club into the slot and then you turn the hips

I did what he said but when I got a lesion my golf pro said when you left arm hits your hip turn your hips and release your wrist your left elbow to hip is your trigger point to release everything and I hit the ball longer and straight er

This Lesson was a break through moment.I did exactly what you advised and the feel and results were instant. I have not been able to get that feeling of hitting up into the ball. Tonight the guy in the bay next to me stopped to compliment me on how well I was striking my drives and admired the height I was achieving.I had to advise him it was all down to you. Was working on improving my driving at the range, and feeling a bit lost tbh. I then searched my library and watched this at the range, and almost immediately WOW. This is exactly the feel of the driver swing I have been missing. The compression resulting from loading and unloading the shoulder muscles is powerful. Once I got this part right my whole body just naturally followed. Much straighter, more consistent and longer drives after about 15 minutes practice. Thank You Danny, you deserve 1 million subs and more.

Danny I cannot thank you enough. I watched this video just a few days ago. I took everything you said and applied it today. Prior to this videos tips I was slicing my ball and carrying about 260ish yards. I had to compensate quite a bit. My first driving hole after applying these tips resulted in my hitting my ball far left of fairway which was a great sign. The next driving hole I hit the straightest shot I've hit since high school. I use Arccos Caddy and on the GPS I was now hitting around 285 with a roll. I attempted to move my hands a bit forward in front of my body at impact at the next hole after becoming comfortable with how straight I was hitting and I put just a bit more speed on the club and hit the furthest drive I think I've ever done. Arccos logged me at 319.4 yards!! The next 4 holes that I drove until the last par 3 were all over 300 yards. I cannot thank you enough!

Danny, you have a real gift for teaching. There are lots of golf instructors out there but your approach, creativity and ability to make complex concepts simple and usable are what set you apart.
I was ready to give up golf as I just could not get off the tee and all my shots were erratic. I was shooting around 120 which is not much fun. I watched your videos, practiced the moves and tried to get the feel I was after and took it to the driving range. The results were immediate. I could FEEL what I was doing and my shots got better very quickly. First time I really played I shot 107, next time 97 and I can see 90 and lower in my future.

This one video gave me back my ability to drive the ball, I had an over-the-top swing with a closed face and was just pull snapping the ball left, I could not get off the tee with my driver. ( i started teeing off with 6 and 7 irons) I knew I was throwing the club out but I could not figure out why I couldn't stop it. Creating that space and unloading properly was an amazing feeling.
I just played the best rounds I have played in years, (10 strokes better at least) it also helped my irons be crisper and with a slight draw. My playing partner was shocked by the accuracy and length I was getting from my driver. (First time I beat him in 20 years)
Best video lesson I have ever used. I am watching the chipping now so I can close better around the green.
Thanks, the game just became much more enjoyable.
