I am 1/2 Lebanese and I grew up eating this as a child. If you’ve never had peanut butter and jelly on a warm pita bread, you’ve been missing out. Thank you so much for this video Natasha!!

Update to my comment 2 days ago. This recipe is better than ever. I made the dough and put it in the fridge for a slow rise overnight (10hours). Not only did it roll out like a dream, in exactly 2 mins in the oven, it puffed up like a balloon and the taste... AWESOME! Thank you thank you thank you 💖

Homemade pita is the best! So much more tender and flavorful than store bought. Those air pockets look amazing.

Wow, just WOW. I made this recipe today and thought I'd try the stovetop method but I couldn't get my pita bread to puff up (it did make very nice flatbread though lol). So I turned the oven on, place a baking sheet upside down inside the oven and heated it to 500F. FABULOUS result, I had them with doner kebab meat inside with salad, salsa and Tahini sauce they were absolutely Awesome. Thank you sooo much for sharing Natasha xx

Thank you so much for taking your rings off while kneading the dough. Far too many cooks/bakers (even on TH-cam) never even consider it. Germs cling to jewelry and they can be encorporated into the dough, not to mention having to clean them later. Thanks again.

I must thank you for sharing your recipe for pita bread. I have made pitas on and off for many years and the most successful ones were the ones I made using your recipe for stove top pittas and following your comments. Definitely my new recipe for the future!! A fabulous taste and max. 1 1/2mins frying time for each one. And what fun to see them pop-up like balloons in the pan!!!

I love pita bread, I use it to copy a recipe from Panera, and it’s not in their menu anymore,
Pita bread, barbecue sauce, baby spinach, chicken, red onion, French’s original Crispy fried onion, cilantro, baked for 10 min. Delicious!

Very nice. Excellent and precise guidance. My pitas didn’t puff up but we’re still great. On the stove, the first one was impeccable but it left some flour residue that got burnt and adhered itself to the other pitas. I ate burnt flour and all. I loved them.

For anyone gluten free: I haven't had pita bread since the early 90's when I had to start eating gluten free due to celiac. I tried this recipe now and used 1 3/4 cups rice flour, 1/2 cup sorghum flour and 1/2 cup tapioca flour and they came out very good. The only difference was I didn't knead it much or let them rest because there is no gluten. I laid them on parchment paper and rolled them out right on that as gluten free is a little harder to handle.

Eventually, your "Oven Baked Pita" demonstration helped to overcome my heat phobia so that I decided to give it a try. And the results turned out to be even better than expected! 1) I heated my oven to 450 F only; 2) I used 2/3 white whole wheat and my Pita took only 1 minute to fully puff on both sides and not longer than 3 minutes to be ready; 3) the puffs didn't deflate even when cooled down! Perfect! This Puff Pita Bread will definitely be part of my regular meals! Thanks again!

Very nice recipe🙌👌. I usually use oil (olive/vegetable) instead of flour if the dough is a bit sticky because adding more flour might dry the dough but the oil "moisturizes" it and make it much richer. You can play with the oil amount in the recipe, reduce the amount of oil that you put at the beginning and then add the missing part while kneading and shaping the dough.
    Thanks for sharing, Andrey💪✌

The side of pita bread is going to be crunchy and the center of the bread with all our favorite goodies. This recipe is going to be delicious. Yum Yum🤤🤤

Hello! Tried your recipe today. Made pita bread for the first time and they turned out excellent. You are right, they are so much better than store bought ones (despite of my yeast being close to being expired 🙈). I used the stove top method.

This was an easy recipe to follow. I made a Philly steak pita and a chicken one. They were so good! I was surprised that my niece ate two of them cause she is little. She told me "Nana, only make Natasha's recipes." I asked her, "you don't like my recipes?" She said mine is ok. That cracked me up!

Natasha, This Pita or Lebanese bread recipe is the best. I did it twice already. It goes down very well with Ghanaian Chicken-light soup. My family enjoys it too. Thanks for sharing
