- Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz is facing a possible death sentence after killing 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February 2018. During the sentencing phase of Cruz's trial, a former student testified that he interacted with Cruz just minutes after the fatal shootings. John Wilford told jurors that he was really upset after having to evacuate the school and was waiting at a nearby McDonald's for his mother to pick him up when Cruz walked in. Wilford said as he was leaving, Cruz begged him for a ride, but he refused, saying something didn't feel right to him.

The fact that he walked past all of those empty seats directly to that booth and sat with a kid he didn’t know, after coincidentally shooting that kids sister and murdering 17 of his classmates is absolutely insane. and had the nerve to ask for a ride home. this is what a psychopath looks like.

Absolutely insane. The nice young man even even said he is worried because his sister won't pick up her phone from school ... Cruz knowingly she could have possibly been one of the people he shot. I’m British 🇬🇧 but I went as an exchange student to High School in the states and I loved it and the USA 🇺🇸, I hope they still have “ Old Sparky “ because this MAN deserves too die for what he did , no question at all , thanks for pleading guilty so you can’t plead innocence when they strap you too the chair , my sincere condolences too the kids that lost their lives and their loved ones who continue too mourn their loss .

I like that he starts off by acknowledging the witnesses continued education. Almost as a way of showing that they are thriving and will hopefully go on to live full and productive lives while this monster rots in jail and probably hell!!

I seen one calling his sister fat and obese when she testified, that's not helpful at all. at least there is a fair share of the family members who were effected that actually wanted him dead. Yes!! I really liked how he stared down Cruz!! Cruz had shot his sister 4 times and she was in the hospital and had 3 surgeries due to the bullets’ damage to her. This witness didn’t know it at the time. But he knows what Cruz did to his sister now and how creepy to have Cruz come sit by him after what Cruz had just done.

It proves you have to listen to your instincts and he had an uneasy feeling about this kid he didn’t know begging him for a ride. He did his best to get away from him and Cruz just kept following him.

Oh my God. This is soooo eerie and creepy. I can only imagine how the guy on the stand testifying felt at the point when he later found out that he had actually come face to face in such an EERIE way with the shooter. Kinda makes you think, if they actually WOULD'VE given him that ride, what was Cruz's intentions once he got in the car with them? My heart goes out to everyone affected by that guy's evil actions that day.
And the shooter almost killed his older sister on the first floor! She took 4 bullets and was assumed to be dead on the scene!
Notice how the kid never turns his back to Cruz. He knew something was up. And was trying to avoid him.

I was at columbine high school many years ago a few of you may remember....... Seeing this video hurt me to my soul and brought back so many horrible nightmares. I pray these young men and women are able to find peace and dont let this horrifying incident ruin them mentally as my experience did. Until i was finally able to live with it. Breaks my heart this is still happening today. I pray the violence stops.

These kids had to grow up so fast, they went through a trauma that (luckily) most people do not go through. I hope each and every one of them will manage to become happy again ❤️

Hopefully parents of children that show warning signs come into action. I saw a TH-cam video of a mom who turned in her son because he showed a lot of signs that he might be up to something. How hard that must be for the parent(s). Nonetheless, 100% the right decision 🙏🏻❤️

But then if it looked like a kid your age from school and you knew everyone was displaced walking around...and your mind is racing...would you really sit and investigate the other student so much? Probably not

The fact that to this day not many schools have put in place an alarm for this situation and special classroom safety is mind blowing. There should be fire escape rope ladders for all classes not on ground level. And absolutely hire people to be monitoring the cameras! No door should be able to be entered except the main entrance during classes. My home town all schools have two Policemen on duty all day. Has been that way for years.
Politicians play the blame game, want to keep passing laws that don’t get to the root of the problem, then continuously cut school budgets and give free healthcare & bonus checks for undocumented, send billions to other countries. Theres your answer, you ever here that saying “ never let a good crisis go to waste” thats in the how to be a parasite politician hand book.
sit 100 smart people in a room they will solve it all. they could develope an AI that scans for any illegal items with automatic metal detectors at all doors. with abilities to quickly order assistance and evacuate areas that the shooter isn't present. this is the only way forward. this is the only solution i promise you.

There was a quote probably from the prosecutor that Nikolas is against the Lord and worships the devil. I can’t type the exact quote because it is so blasphemous but there you go- that gives Satan and his demons access into his soul and possess it. The Lord reminded me of the possessed man who had 40 demons inside of him. The spirits recognized Jesus and caused the man to shake and cry out, “what do you want with us Son of God?”. The Bible said he was also a very violent man. Jesus commanded the evil spirits out and the man was spirituall healed. The devil is no joke- he will take any soul to hell if he can and he wants to destroy people’s lives. Nicolas asked for a Bible after he was arrested. It’s a shame he didn’t get one after his mom died. I know how hard it is when mom dies. And that’s where the devil will try to pounce on a soul is when they are at their weakest. The Bible said the battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers against wickedness in high places. I wouldn’t be surprised if multiple demons were possessing his soul.

I don't blame the young man testifying for having such hate in his eyes for Nicolas Cruz. Why in the world is nic looking down now like hes so ashamed? Yet before carrying out this heinous crime, he was blatant and proud of what he did. There isn't an ounce of remorse in his face for what he's done. In one day he's destroyed not only the lives of countless families and the community, but he also destroyed his own life as well.
Thank God MR.wilford did not give Cruz a ride. He followed his instinct. I hope that justice is served as It should be for every victim of this horrific and senseless tragedy. I pray that God helps everyone thats been traumatized and hurt beyond comprehension.
As for Nikolas Cruz, your soul is already in deep trouble.
You're already sentenced to life in hell where there is no mercy and no escape from terror. You'll be taunted for the rest of your life there.
There's no solace or mercy there. God is quick to forgive those who show remorse and ask for forgiveness. But in this case you haven't.

This trial is almost ridiculous (no offense meant to the families who got to voice their grief or the lawyers and all on attendance). He has pleaded guilty, the evidence is without question. He must be sentenced to death for this crime. Too much time and energy is being dedicated to this trial. There was a time when he would have received his punishment on the day he was captured. This is not a trial in which there is doubt as to the crimes and who did it. He complained in his selfie video about the brainwashing of government systems. Yet the government is bending over backwards to give him so much more than fair trial and dignified treatment. He will be sentenced to death. It should just be done.
Pretty sure victim statements are standard, there are just a lot of victims in this case.

The objections throughout this case have been so random and unprofessional. This kid sat in a booth with him and was asked for a ride. He knows what he looks like. That lawyer should be ashamed of herself.

The impact of NC’s actions on the families of the victims and the students will leave a lasting impression no matter what happens to him, wether it be the death penalty or a life sentence. The trauma caused has everyone bound by his actions. I pray that they can heal and move forward. Cruz took 17 lives, injured many more. Let’s hope those affected take their power from him and live out their lives in peace. It’s becoming a trend these school shootings. So many troubled youth. There needs to be more awareness and coping skills taught vs drills to prevent being shot. Even now in Canada my children go through not just fire drills. They are programmed with fear as they experience “drills” just in case some student decides to unload lead amidst the classrooms.

I can only imagine what's going on that kids mind sitting there waiting for his mom......when I was in high school I went through the DC sniper incident and after school I had to go to work so I took the metro bus and I would run from the school to the McDonald's across the street and wait inside till I see the bus then run as fast as I can to wave the bus down it was scary I would be in the McDonald's shaking everytime peeking at the window to see the bus worrying the sniper might just be waiting smh I PRAY FOR ALL THE KIDS THAT WENT THROUGH THIS😔🙏

I wish the camera guy would stop showing and or zooming in on the parents. They clearly hate it. We really don’t need to see their reactions. Please just leave them alone or at least substantially limit showing them. Yes seeing these parents makes you empathize and not want to see this anywhere ever again which I can’t imagine who in their right minds would ever want to see this besides a psychopath, but these people are in a lot of pain and don’t need a camera zooming in on them all the time.

2 things. I think he was going to try and carjack that kid. His instinct saved him from a no doubt, traumatic experience he would’ve had with Cruz. Maybe nikolas didn’t have guns but no doubt had knives. The fact he remembers him being so insistent on getting a ride makes me think this. 2) that he walked up to these kids that were in a panic, sat down and reveled in their worry.makes me sick. That’s what he was doing to begin with. Enjoying their pain.

They should just say 34 victims in the media and headlines because 17 we're killed and 17 we're injured. I just think it shows how merciless he was. He is too dangerous to be allowed to live. He's sitting there uncuffed with a possible weapon. A writing instrument gets fashioned into a shank in prison. He will kill again. He already attacked some guards. He's just a typical psychopath like all the serial killers we put to death.
John's body language shows how uncomfortable he is, many times facing &/or keeping what ends up being a murder, insight. He gut knew.
If he knew NC almost killed his sister at that time he would have had his own murder trial to go to.

I'm not a fortune teller or God, but I feel I'm good at reading people, and Cruz is absolutely not remorseful. It's terrible that he may have been bullied, and didn't get help, even 4 years after the fact, but he doesn't seem fased at all. No remorse no soul. Hollow like Michael Myers. He seems more worried about losing his TV privileges, than the vicitms.

This case is so disturbing, I am not American so I haven't really followed this, but I did not know the shooter had a whole plan to blend in and talk with the survivors and go outside like nothing happened
What happened was his gun jammed so he wasnt able to commit suicide like he planned. He then decided to blend in with the crowd during evacuation.
