I find "Winchester anti-cat" to be very effective. They come in a variety of sizes, or calibers as Winchester calls them, and they are an extremely effective one time use application. I haven't met a cat that wasn't dying to try them.
I just started having this problem in my garlic patch. Used all of these things and ironically I now have two cats using the garlic patch as a litter box. I put chicken wire over the dirt and that stopped it on 50% of the garlic patch......next is to cover the remaining portion.....then I will toss my urine around the patch, bait, then trap and remove to an area 50Km out in case they are chipped as its the owner's responsibility. The last time I did the relocation thing it took almost two months before an owner put up a missing cat poster! I love cats, but I don't need them crapping my in garden of food.......

The cat occasionally shows up on my security camera in front of my back gate,on the side of my house where I have fern plants but it can't get into the plants because of the garden gate & plants are thick .Last night for the first time he was IN my backyard snooping around. I was shocked because the gate is a 6' pvc fence...didn't know cats would jump that 😂. Anyway I'm going to spray areas he was snooping. I have fake grass in backyard and plants are in pots. The red pepper flakes work so well the cat just pooped on my front porch instead. I am resetting my timer for the sprinkler to come on when the cat likes come to play in my yard.
The best way to get a cats attention and to stop what they are doing is spray them water. There are also plenty of good smelling flowers and plants cats do not like. But water is the best, safest and easiest way to get results.
So far the smell option either barely works or doesn't at all. If it didn't cost so much, I would line my entire back yard fence with the Cat Scat Mat because I think that stops them from climbing the fence, but I only have it on one little 6ft section. If all this doesn't work, I'm gonna go back to the "Relocation Program"...sorry neighbors.
yeah...if i drop it on the counter & don't put it in the compost immediately, my cats drag the banana peels around, for some unfathomable reason....they also totally ignore the vinegar & lemon juice spray...rosemary is part of the potpourri i make & they like to knock the bowl over & scatter that around too on occasion......and the orange peels i stuck here & there where i've been trying to train them not to go &...they will steal & eat my cinnamon toast if i'm not watching the plate close enough.......so....lavender.....is the last resort...the only reservation i have abt about lavender is...it also repels me..lol.
Adopt them! They are wonderful creatures and beautiful and will give you a lot of affection and companionship. And they are independent you dont have to take them for a walk. @@joelmarks6777 The County official showed me a map of a 3 block area in my neighborhood where they have counted at least 30 cats roaming. That’s a huge problem out here. The two women officials told me the worst thing you can do is to feed them. There is one woman a few doors down that was feeding 12. She was requested by the County to stop feeding them. I hope she did. I’m tired of putting up with them.

Best way to keep unwanted critters off your lawn is the good old garden hose, or sprinklers if you have them. Cats get the message better than most animals. Squirrels and deer are tougher to convince.

These cats are actually homeless cats with homes. They "belong" to my neighbours who don't neuter, spay or even feed them. They just let them breed to create colonies. Their cats are on their roof, in their porch, on the roadside...everywhere. Trying talking to these neighbours and they get defensive and aggressive. I'm through with talking. Your suggestion of reusing plastic has just given me an idea. They always jump up my brick perimeter wall to get into my house. So I'm gonna cut up used coke bottles into wedge-shaped pieces and stick them sharp side up on the top of my walls. Cats need to jump up onto the ledge or top of the wall before jumping into my garden. The sharp spikes should make a painful, memorable deterrent. Best of all, they are cheap as I don't intend to spend money on expensive sprays that wash off in the rain. They are permanent and can withstand the weather for a long time. And I'm recycling bottles at the same time too.
I guess you’ve never heard of screens. They have these mesh and metal “screens” that prevent bugs and even cats from getting inside your home while still letting in the breeze!

even worse is when i have 2 cats of my own that use a cat flap and a feral cat comes in through that flap and eats everything and marks in every corner- the stench is terrible -- i've known this feral cat for 5 years, you couldn't be socialized or touched. @@june7914 the cat flap is incorporated into a large glass door that leads to the garden terrace. the garden is the place where the cats stay, surrounded by walls. my house has to be kept closed to keep livestock out like snakes etc and the heat of thailand is also locked out 😒😒
I like cats, I don't like the neighbor's cat leaving little bombs all over my back yard. Now that winter is almost over, I'm shutting my fence gate again, though I should have done so sooner. I seen the offending cat on several occasions, although I don't know which neighbor owns it. cute cat, but go pooh in your own yard! In a day or two I'll inspect & clean up the back yard, or the grass will start to grow and hide where they are. Finding them with my lawn mower, is what I'd like not to do. Next time I get a bag of oranges, guess I'll be saving those peels.
My new neighbor has been putting up 2 bowls of food out on her door way for street cats. Now I'm getting random cats peeing on my porch and one time a cat made it's way inside my home🤬 is that something I can report to the HOA? Or what options do I have?
if they dont care for the animals set a large live trap with cat food in it in the can. Then haul them off about 25 miles away so they dont come back they are wild any way

Scents are great but people need a permanent solution and since those who own cats aren’t responsible for their cats some take drastic and very hard actions to the point of poisoning the cats and that should not be a solution. What people need are more permanent and long term solutions so please post them if you have them.🥸
A neighbours cat comes into my yard daily to hunt and kill birds, I am so incredibly sick of it. I have tried all sorts of scented humane ways of deterring it, it’s starting to get expensive. My next step is to get a cat trap, and when I catch it I’m going to take my hose and spray it until it’s almost drowned, then I will release it and haze it out of the yard…. If that doesn’t keep it out of my yard more drastic measures may have to happen
@@monaburch9163 - From all the here there and here there I have evolved to chemical warfare it’s expensive sort of but very effective until it rains but in applying the powder it has alerted the cats not to come in to my yard. So when it stops raining I continue my warfare. In Vietnam we would put tear gas to keep the enemy away from entering the zone as we called it so CAYENNE PEPPER is the closest thing to tear gas and it works. At first you need enough pepper to cover a good barrier so as to stop the cat from jumping over the zone where the cats come in. So study their habits and then proceed with your quest to stop the feline species from entering your domain. Be careful how you spread the pepper make sure it is not windy it will go into your eyes and boy does it sting. GOOD LUCK! 🥹😉🤪

The high powered water sprinkler (motion sensor auto turn on) works great. The cat ran off quickly.

Mix your coffee grounds with some mushed up egg shell and spread that, just one application of this mix worked for me !

@@june7914 the cat flap is incorporated into a large glass door that leads to the garden terrace. the garden is the place where the cats stay, surrounded by walls. my house has to be kept closed to keep livestock out like snakes etc and the heat of thailand is also locked out 😒😒

I seen the offending cat on several occasions, although I don't know which neighbor owns it.

My new neighbor has been putting up 2 bowls of food out on her door way for street cats. Now I'm getting random cats peeing on my porch and one time a cat made it's way inside my home🤬 is that something I can report to the HOA? Or what options do I have?
Have you tried bringing it up with the neighbor? I think it would be worth mentioning to the HOA too.
if they dont care for the animals set a large live trap with cat food in it in the can. Then haul them off about 25 miles away so they dont come back they are wild any way

Bro nothing works lol I've tried vinegar, citrus, pepper, water sprays, and all kinds of oils. They just jump over the barriers or sprayed areas. What a nuisance.

While I was spraying the surrounding of the home they were coming up to the house and spraying where I would spray... not kidding.. I was annoyed and mad as hell, it's like they were mocking me, instead they made me look crazy to the neighbors. I started screaming and chasing them, that's how sick I am of them.
@@slingshoter8783 well unfortunately I tried it, it didn't work, so I won't be doing that again. But your advice will definitely be taken into account for any future projects with vinegar and outdoor work.
I'm going to try sprying human pee to mark my territory. I just don't want a pissy smelling yard either, though.

Scents are great but people need a permanent solution and since those who own cats aren’t responsible for their cats some take drastic and very hard actions to the point of poisoning the cats and that should not be a solution. What people need are more permanent and long term solutions so please post them if you have them.🥸
A neighbours cat comes into my yard daily to hunt and kill birds, I am so incredibly sick of it. I have tried all sorts of scented humane ways of deterring it, it’s starting to get expensive. My next step is to get a cat trap, and when I catch it I’m going to take my hose and spray it until it’s almost drowned, then I will release it and haze it out of the yard…. If that doesn’t keep it out of my yard more drastic measures may have to happen
@@monaburch9163 - From all the here there and here there I have evolved to chemical warfare it’s expensive sort of but very effective until it rains but in applying the powder it has alerted the cats not to come in to my yard. So when it stops raining I continue my warfare. In Vietnam we would put tear gas to keep the enemy away from entering the zone as we called it so CAYENNE PEPPER is the closest thing to tear gas and it works. At first you need enough pepper to cover a good barrier so as to stop the cat from jumping over the zone where the cats come in. So study their habits and then proceed with your quest to stop the feline species from entering your domain. Be careful how you spread the pepper make sure it is not windy it will go into your eyes and boy does it sting. GOOD LUCK! 🥹😉🤪
