I never realized the amount of one year items on a 67 bug. I have never had one, but now I am kind of thinking it would be cool to get one........NO it wouldn't be!!!!!!! Thanks for the video!!
Learning a lot. And I'm not usually a very attentive student with car issues that go beyond driving and putting the gas in. You guys make it entertaining and Taylor's knowledge base and diagnostic skills are amazing. Sorry Ben. You're strong with the great comments, though the funniest line (my opinion) in this one was Taylors and was something along the lines of "might as well be British." Again, apologies to Ben.
My second car was a Beetle I bought in the student union at my college for $50.00; it had a "Yield" sign for the driver's side floorboard, and it was easier to replace the wiring harness(and ground all the lights and accessories) than to make sense of the rat's nest of wires near the back of the speedo cluster. It had a gasoline motor under the front lid(for a heater; the car was originally from Canada) and when I got gas, other drivers would ask me what it was, and I would tell them it was the engine.
Nice content guys! Am I mistaken, or is that a regular anti-roll bar on the rear suspension? Won't that actually be dangerous on a swing-axle beetle? When cornering, the swing-axle design will make the outer wheel want to jack up the car. If you overdo it, the wheel will even 'tuck under', lifting the entire rear and narrowing the track. Body roll actually helps to prevent that. As i understand it, improving the handling of a swing-axle car requires a Z-bar, which does the opposite of a regular anti-roll bar. A while ago I discovered that my dad's (European) '67 beetle actually has a rear Z-bar fitted from factory (although it is designed with a lot of play, so it doesn't interfere much with the suspension during normal driving).
About three days after I got the stitches out if my right hand, a faulty double hung window guillotined the end of my left middle finger off 😂 shattered the bone, completely removed the nail. Had to get everything pinned back together
I've never understood the hype around 1 year only bugs. Just seems like more hassle to me. Looks like a typical bug, all the rust in all the usual places..and bad patches too.
I agree! I was so resistant to getting a Bug partly because I’ve never heard ‘one year only’ so much in my entire life 😂 Seems like a complete pain in the backside to me - Ben
@@wickedwerks I’m already at work, just taking a “break” 😂 It doesn’t look horrible honestly. The Sickxty build I’ve been doing was way worse lol You got this buddy!
@@VWJawbreaker it’s really not bad! Guy pretty much wants to replace everything anyway. Way less custom work than the Sickxty 😂 thanks man! Looking forward to the next Sickxty video!

Did he?! I wanted him to zoom in on it! 😂 - Ben

yes it would be! Get one!
Unload was scary lol. One of my favorite channels, very entertaining. Like a TH-cam Gas Monkey Garage, without the money lol
Genuinely lol’d, thank you 😂
Thanks for sharing your experience with great comments.... remarkable that you could replace or repair such a vw.... cheers from Australia 🦘🦘😊

lets see more of this one.... got all the usual bodges.. going to be a great project!
There will definitely be more! Thanks for watching
I might as well be British ! HAA. Too funny.
Wow 67 not roadworthy, terrible previous repairs but atleast saved from being scrapped. In the best place . Good luck !!
Gotta love a 67..but then I am biased 😂👍🏴
Like Ben I really like this one even the sound of it,but I don't know why!
I remember that bug from Jason channel. Are you going to sell stickers also, down the road?
Yes! Need to get some more printed soon. Handed them out like Candy last year 😂
The is a vid on Jason's Chanel of him welding this floor in I think.
The hinge pins most likely are worn and may need to be replaced. My first car was a 67 VW Beetle.
Hello from Steve's aircooled LLC
Hey Steve! Thanks for watching, hope all is well
Maybe the holes in the floor were for ventilation? At least that is what I told myself when I had some in the TR6. HA!

1968 = 1500 same deck lid and I believe same transaxle. I owned both years.

Yes, I believe you are correct. It’s definitely going away. It was unnecessary with the vehicles ride height and the custom is keeping it low.
What happened to your hand man?

Ya that needs a bit of metal work.
1998 MB C230? Holla if you’re interested. It’s been sitting for 9 years. 🙁
First! I’ll get to work in about 20 minutes 😂
It’s Monday, you can be late. I think it’s a federal law 😂

I would just find a 66 to 68 pan or go IRS pan that only needs possible pan or pans it will save you lots of headaches..
There's a serious amount of boggy on that. Interesting with your 67's having alot of one year only stuff, our were pretty the same 62 - 67
Yeah, the changes between markets were wild.
@@wickedwerks ohh yeah plus VW made bettles and T2's here in Australia along mk 1 golf Passat and square backs
@@mtozzy11 do you know if you guys got 1300 dual port motors over there?
swiss cheese but it is fixable. For $$$$......I hope they are willing to invest a bit of money.
I think one of the heads is loose....
Yeah we noticed that 😂 thankfully customer seems to be leaning towards a bigger motor anyway
just starting to come loose.
probably pulling a case saver. common on the older single relief 1500 cases.
It's a Scrapper!
scrap it
