I have a 71 vert, went through that same struggle…could’ve used a lift though. Excited to see you had the same glue/mush gasket as I thought mine was a one off
I've restored a couple of 1302S or super's as you call them. In the UK only supers/auto's had IRS rear suspension. Not everyones cup of tea but they made great daily hacks when that was still a thing. Over here most are long gone as early T2 owners want the gearbox for straight axle conversions. I feel your pain on this one!
W0W, that's a lot of crusty and not much metal. This could turn into an expensive job. It will be interesting to see video 2. So, thanks for sharing. ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
It's always amazing to see how half-assed people play with a welding machine and you have to fix their mistakes. Well done, Taylor 😊
I’m usually the one half assing it 😂

I have the same exact Bug so this is a great addition to my how-to library! Great video!
@@TrixedOut hopefully yours goes better than mine! Thanks for watching
So proud of you not saying a bad word when that pry bar ate your thumb!
Great video 📹 👍

That was fun to watch. Never see that done before. Looks like it would be an easy job if the bug wasn't rusted out or welded.
I felt that thumb crunch. Way to work through it.
Great video. They must salt roads where you are. Looks like the shop is busy.

I'll take bets the owner puts a halt to it. I feel for you though, that looked harder than it should have been.
@@dalewyatt1321 way harder! It was welded to the body in a couple spots and there was no rubber body seal, it was all glue/sealant.
Crispy!
And this is exactly why I’m patching the pans on jawbreaker and not pulling the body…. What a can of worms 😂
CRUNCHY
never done a super. back in the day if it needed any body off services the car went to the crusher. not now!!
Would like to know the average cost on each rust fix.
Good dose of truckers arm sun tanning in evidence 😂
Do I know that SM in the background? I think so.
You do 😏
No way ! We didn't get to see the money shot !!! WTH !!! 😅😅😅😅
Anyonne that says bugs are easy to work on is "NUTS !!!"
All I can see is the seats in the orange one.
