rtings beat All youtubers to this review. they said it was a hard sell and didn't recommend it over the competition.
this tv was skipped by all reviewers should tell you something. basically just a very minor update to the A80L.
I have had the 65” for about a month now. It’s a great bedroom tv.
How’s motion with motion settings on? I had the A95K but the blur and objects crumbling was bad with motion. I hate turning motion off and setting judder and blur
@@X4Piper haven’t messed with the settings since Netflix and prime have settings are good and just us professional mode for everything else.
@@gallynutsthats only image, that doesn’t do anything with motion
Just two HDMI 2.1 ports on an expensive TV in 2024? Get out of here! My LG B9 had four full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports back in 2019!
Unless you only watch movies then I would personally find it hard to recommend any Sony TV. Same for Samsung who continue to ignore DTS audio and Dolby Vision support even on their high-end flagship TVs.
LG might not be top tier in every aspect of their design but for me personally they are close to perfect for my needs and make by far the best all-round TVs with everything I would ever need for both movie viewing and gaming. They are also more sensibly priced.
Sony's focus is picture and audio quality. Most users do not need 4 HDMI 48 Gbps outputs. With the only exception of 120Hz, which would be very few PC Gaming, all of 4K HDR content works perfectly with HDMI 2.0. If you need more HDMI 2.1 ports an A/V Receiver or Marantz's 3x1 HDMI 2.1 switch for $199. retail will give you two more HDMI 2.1 full 48Gbps inputs.
Btw. U8N 65” Vs 75” have different panels. But the qm851G 75/85” is an awesome tv!! Super bright and brute forces the dimming zones. (Black crushing and blooming still not great compared to B9). 🎉.
I think you will really like the QM8 85”! Where I’m stuck deciding for my next bedroom tv is, 85” Bravia 7, 85” tcl qm7 Vs Qm8, 85” U8N ads panel, 86” qned90T, or suck it up and get the 75” Bravia 9. 🎉 (Bravia 9 85” is just too much). 🎉
I have the 77" a80l and it also has 4 different positions for the feet. Really good tv! Thank you for you videos.
hi love your content trying to decide between the 65 inch Sony Bravia 8 and the a80l for my bedroom in my basement? any help which one would u choose?
Just imo!!!🎉. If it’s gonna be your main basement tv, and not too much usage (but in) get whichever 77” falls into your budget!! The difference in immersion vs picture quality difference in the smaller size is way worth it!! 🎉
@@MattyDaddy14wasn’t talking about the size im definitely going for the 65inch. i meant the sony bravia 8 or the previous version sony a80l of 2023 which is still available.
Thank you! I would say they are close enough in price that I would recommend buying the Bravia 8 as it is the better TV, its brighter and therefore more impactful with HDR. The SDR brightness is better as well. It’s got the newer UI and the 2024 improvements along with features to go along with it.
@@TechWithKG thank u so much I can get it for a 400$ difference so will be getting the Bravia 8...thanks :)
Trying to decide on 55U7N or 55U8N or 65U8N can’t decide. Any suggestions?
If you're going to spend $3k+ on an OLED right now, buy the Sasmsung S90D. The ONLY thing you'll sacrifice is a bit of processing power since Sony will likely always own that title, but QD OLED vs WOLED right now isn't even a close comparison. The out of box settings on the S90D aren't great, but it's easy to calibrate and adjust to your tastes, and when you do speaking from experience I can tell you that it looks GLORIOUS. Game mode in particular is the best I've ever seen, and feels like you're looking through the tv thanks to the amazing 3D pop. Sony needs to stop gouging customers for all their money for outdated tech. This is basically the A80L repackaged (again), meanwhile 2024 Samsung QD OLEDs are a clear improvement over last year.
I would not get the Samsung. I’m returning my S90D. The image processing is a huge hit. Motion falls apart, highlights breaks the picture with artifacts and chopping. If any motion settings are on it’ll ruin the image. But then it’s just a blurry stuttery mess.
@@V9Rock You might just have a glitchy unit. I have a couple of minor motion gripes along with a bit of color banding, but it's perfect with the settings I have programmed beyond that. Did you get the warranty? I would just get it replaced if I were you. The Sony's processing will be a touch better, but the picture and color quality will pale in comparison
Only thing with the Samsung is the lack of dts (X). 🎉 I didn’t think I’d miss it but I def do! 🎉
Would you say 65" A95L or the 77" Bravia 8 since the respective sizes are the same price?
Always go for the bigger TV in most cases if you need the size unless fitting it would be an issue, they will be close enough in most regular content. A95L is certainly more capable but unless you need that extra brightness you’ll probably be okay with the Bravia 8 or A80L. At 77 though it’s hard to say I can recommend spending $1,000 more than 77 S90C or 77 C3.
Which one is better LG OLED G4 or this one ?
G4
Would you say its an upgrade from the A80L?
It is in some ways yes but if you own an A80L I wouldn’t
so how does bravia 8 stack with the g4 and s95d
Not as bright or impactful but its good it stacks up closer to the C4 than those to which is where it is priced so thats fair.
@@TechWithKG which is better c4 or bravia 8
I don't like samsung q
I prefer sony always ..no one can defeat sony
I need to compare them still but if it’s anything like last year it’ll be so close that it comes down to features you want to have
Thanks for the video KG-I expected a better TV from Sony. At least the C4 is still a great option for gamers and a great value, but the XR80 is kind of redundant and overpriced. We kind of expected Sony to bridge the gap between the A80L and the A95L with a midrange QD-OLED. Instead they added the Bravia 9, which is great but that makes the Bravia 8 even less appealing.
Yeah but c4 viewing angles are trash
C4 price vs this , where is your money going kg ?
C4 is better in every way
C4
@@Cj19791979 I just went to Costco and saw the 77…. Just wow
C4 is better for gaming, but 77” Bravia 8 is gorgeous! Looks almost identical to Bravia 9 just not as bright. 🎉 that said, if I could get an 83” C4 over 77 B8, that’s prob what I’d get. 🎉
Did bro really said an A80J don't need to be replaced with an bravia 8 you start to became unsympathetic like this shit bro why you teaching them wrong it's night and day an bravia 8 and A80J
It’s really not a night and day difference I’m not sure why you would think it is, it’s an improvement but not worth replacing I’m not saying the A80J is just as good. We are talking benefits that will be hardly noticeable to most unless they are put side by side.
Motion on pinball looked bad. Really bad. Was that TH-cam or was there lots of blur behind the ball?
No motion is good you can’t see motion problems on TH-cam it’s probably just something web related.
Does the g4 processor upscale better that Sony’s XR?
Reports would say yes.
