      Looking forward to the review! I'm curious if it has some of the same issues as the 98" (seemingly all software problems thankfully).
      Currently, the sticky picture settings between modes, video processing delay with sub-60Hz refresh rates, and color shift with RGB signal (PC connection, seemingly resolvable with the Tint slider) are holding it back a bit, but overall happy with the performance after some moderate tweaks.

      Power draw and the heat coming off the set. I have a 75 inch QM8 and it heats up the whole area it hangs in. It is hanging on a wall but I have it swiveled out a good 14 inches with an ac vent blowing down right above it and the heat coming off the set it tremendous. Can only image what this beast will be putting off.

    I feel like this is exactly what unboxing and setting up a 65 inch TV felt and looked like to us 10 to 20 years ago back in the mid 2000s to mid 2010s

      its still great setting up a 65 inch samsung i got my brothers after he passed away Tv is now 4 years old and was barely used by him as they kept the auto turn off still on it so it went off after 4 hours and most of the time stayed off Tv like brand new and curved

    By the way, as an installer, I highly recommend when you pull the screen protector off, you pull upward from the bottom edge. Not that you need to start from the bottom, but if you pull downward or straight across, the screen protector leaves tiny little pieces that are a real pain to remove.

    I can appreciate the size of this set, a friend has a 120" motorised projector screen
    and your jaw drops as it descends from the ceiling and the curtains adjust to the ratio
    that you wish to watch.

    Can't see myself ever getting something this big or expensive. With something that large even a short throw projector and its accompanying screen is better value and larger to boot. That said, a 100" OLED would be freakin' sweet.

      @sage11x 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      120” is good. One on my screens is 120”. But most modern projectors can do 120” in their sleep. I’d try to max your wall. If you want a ‘cinematic’ experience you need to get to 50 degrees (FOV). That would mean you would need to sit within 9 ft for this TV. But that calculation gets crazy as you sit further away. If you’re sitting, say, 13 ft away you’d need a 165” (diagonal). Doubt we’ll have 165” TVs anytime soon.

    • @whitecrowuk575
      @whitecrowuk575 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sage11x most modern projectors do 120” yes but remember is not about what they can do but how much light they can emit. In a 3-5k region 120” is reasonable max otherwise picture will be dimmer. Besides all those will give you max 200 nits - which is fine in the dark but far cry from what tv can do especially this 5k nits monster. You want proper hdr - you get this and sit within 10-12 feet from it

    Any chance to put a 65” tv in front of it just for scale? A lot of people have 65” TVs and that will show the true size.

    He meant Eugene belsky, he is producing the content running. It’s some of the highest quality hdr videos on TH-cam. If you want to bring the best out of your tv this is the channels to watch. Along with Katy and Jacob schwarz

    Does anyone know what stand/legs they were using? The manual for this set shows a T shaped set of legs that would have the TV setting flat on the floor.

    Hey Caleb, you mention the 'optional' legs. Do you know where / how to get the larger legs? I can find them anywhere online and even reached out to TCL but only get a basic customer support rep that doesn't know anything about them.

    This is the only unboxing worth watching because it is actually amusing to watch the struggle. There is little content on the internet that is a bigger waste of time/space than videos of people being like "inside the cardboard box is the thing on the box. And look! A coed! And look, a a remote!! It even comes with a user manual!!!". No one needs to see that

    I hope you compare this vs the latest flagship jvc nz900 projector in a dark home theater room. Maybe colab with audio advice for the projector vs this tv video. That would be and end all video for the age old debate.

    I like to keep all the packing for my big screens (Very handy when moving house). Similar unboxing experiance to the 85inch I got from TCL. Have to admid to being pretty impressed with their screens, even thier budget models have a great picture. Thou the speakers on my 85Inch are trash (not that I would use them anyway) I have to ask what are the speaker like on this 115" monster ?.
