I have worked for JLR for 17 years there not all bad just keep up with the dealer servicing and genuine parts and you will be fine. The car is most likely a January/February 2011 car registered on a 60 plate before the plate change in March.

Bought my used L322 9 months ago after the infamous Clarkson / Harry 'Peak Range Rover' video. I spent right up the higher end of the used price list and bought a late car (latest in fact 12/12)... It has been flawless. Everything works and I love everything about it. I'd put it above the Bentley GT I was lucky enough to own a few years back for refinement. For practicality it's as close to the 2014 Defender I traded in for it.
I think if you're looking to buy one for £3,000 or so, you should expect big issues. Fuel is no worse than the 2.2 Defender on a long run, and yes, Insurance is painful. It now needs a full service and brakes all round (disks and pads) and going OEM is going to be pricey. But I do love this thing. Such a beautiful drive. Near silent and looks classy as anything when kept standard.
Not saying they don't brake down... The waiting room at Manchester JLR was always full of Range Rover owners screaming at the staff whenever I took my Defender in for a service. But I do feel the internet needs a few more positive comments for the L322 at least, so this is mine.

    Welcome back.
Garages: talk to Pete at charnocks in Littlehampton. What he doesn’t know about Land Rover isn’t worth knowing being a former Land Rover Master Tech.
The 4.4 will hardly ever go over 1500rpm. You might even hear the second turbo spooling up and then spooling down as it’s not used you should probably also check if it’s had the oil drain done.
You can lock the suspension in access mode.
L405 wheels with the wrong sized tyres could be problematic for your insurance. If you’ve got the Bembo brake calipers on the front then there is only one style of 19 inch that will fit over them otherwise it’s 20s.
Some of the later range Rover tinted windows were tinted at factory so may not be easy to de-tint them. Clear glass is better IMHO too.
Guess you filmed this after the travellers had been moved on.
Topix may tell you the model but any model could be spec’d to almost an autobiography level anyway. Would say vogue se given reclining seats but without the rear cooling.
Light coloured seats look better but show dirt more than the black ones.

Great looking car inside and out , I personally prefer lighter interiors over just black interiors , Matt from high peek autos had a funky green colour with the same sort of ifunky green interior and loved it , so yes for me I am a fan of this one. I like silver wheels on these cars but at the same time dont find those on yours offensive

I would keep the L405 wheels on the profile suits the L322 i have 55 profiles on my 20inch wheels. Don't go for the one's you have been offered they are not L322 wheels they are L320 sport supercharged stormer wheels, tyre ratio is alot lower profile.

Lucy - just rewatched the video: have a couple of observations about the tailgate.
    1. The chrome strip: I've never seen that as a genuine LR optional extra for the years yours (and mine) were produced. I'd agree that it looks aftermarket... which makes me suspicious about a couple of other things...
    2. The lack of any badging. I've only got the silvered 'tdv8' badge on mine, centred on the drivers side of the lower tailgate. You've got absolutely nothing! I know you can order cars 'debadged' from the factory, but put this together with...
    3. No operational tailgate release... and....
    4. Just how smart the paintwork on the tailgate looks and I'm starting to suspect that has had ..... 'work' done on it.... shock-horror!!!
Mine has 134k on it - think you said yours has 150/160k ish...??? Mine has rust bubbles on the bottom edge of the upper body line (where the RR letters sit.) That's absolutely normal and to be expected on one that's 13 years old - they all do it. But there's no sign of it on yours.
So .... add all that up and I'll bet a whole 50p that your tailgate has been 'restored' and the lower release isn't working because it didn't go back together 100% as it should.
Of course....I could be wrong..... it has been known.... 🙄

  • @keithswaddling2370
    @keithswaddling2370 หลายเดือนก่อน

To open the lower tailgate when the electric button isn't operating, just stick your fingers down each side by the rubber seal, and press the top of the catch, there is a release lever there. You need to do one side at a time, but it saves you having to climb over to get in.But if that is your thing that's fine. I love the car and the wheels are perfect in my opinion.

Leather cleaner = Carbon Collective Leather cleaner + a bristle brush, nothing else comes close.

To open the tailgate poke your fingers down the gap on both sides of the tailgate, push the flaps down and it will open . If you try one that is working and look down the gaps you will see that this is what the button does

Car looks mint! I would definitely go for the stormer alloys that you put on screen! The reason why the Pirelli’s are quieter is because they have foam pads inside them to reduce noise, made a massive difference to my l322 and my mums l405. Also it seems like a vogue se judging by the cooled seats but it has the grey door handles like the vogue.

Made a big difference to mine. Most 4.4 tdv8 owners I've spoken to go with the 'cheap and often' rule with oil changes - triple X R oil and 6000 interval. Also, has yours had the dpf cancelled and/or removed? If it has, you can run it on 5w40 oil rather than 5w30 low SAPS. It basically becomes an Australian spec vehicle and they run on 5w40 from the factory. It'll thank you for it too at 150k+ miles. Mines on 134k. I reckon it's a Westminster 2011 Model Year (looking at the seat leather/piping). Then looking at the options, which are a bit odd to be honest (reclining but not cooled rear seats?!), and the number plate, it may have been a manager's car or Land Rover corporate build - see if you can track any ownership from the online service portal. I'd bet it's Paragon Fleet Solutions first owner.

I think the car colour would suit Silver wheels, it would make a nice contrast and return it to its Country estate routes.
