I just bought myself my first RR 2011 blue 4.4tdv8 it's my first RR and now I understand why people put up with them, what a lovely place to be. Just thought I'd comment and say I'm looking forward to the detailing but if I was you I'd leave more time for the exterior being such a big vehicle and once you've started the process of claying and polishing you can't really stop, I've been lucky in the fact the previous owner of mine waxoiled all the panel work for rust prevention which has worked very well and the paint has had a ceramic coating I think you've done pretty well regardless of the niggles with the spec you have it's worth putting the effort in to bring it back to its former glory.
Great Channel, Great content looking forward to watching more 👌👍

Boot straps very common, must get both replaced before you sit on it 🙏🏻 tho! The rust is from inside to the out in the areas you have shown so with that in mind it is much more urgent than you think. Remove the wheel arch liner and give it a proper clear out. It needs urgent attention to stop it as once the rust breaks through it will dissolve the rear passenger seat belt anchor points and the sill. They all have this rust so once you see it on the exterior it’s already eaten the interior. All sortable if done quickly and not left to rot. If left it will fail the MOT and need extensive cutting out & welding. The headlights…. Don’t sand them! Try Mothers mag & aluminium polish. It’s epic. Done in 5 minutes. 😊 good luck with it all.

I have just bought a 53 RR Vogue and both rear jacking points had gone completely and had them rebuilt with salvage parts. Yours is starting to go and I would not leave it very long as will end up as it was with mine which the previous owner had left and ran away from. £1000.00 to cut out and weld in new sections, just needs a final sanding and paint. I had to do this to get it through for an MOT.

I replaced my rear wiper arm on my 2012 L322. It was actually a very easy job. You don’t need to fully remove the spoiler; there’s enough slack in the wiring to move the spoiler a few inches giving access to the arm.

As much as Zi like them there just a bit to small for me as I need to carry 2 disability buggy’s! There’s also the reliability issues so I’m getting a Landcruiser Amazon instead.

I don't have the L405 rims on mine but I think they look good. The biggest advantage is that the extra 10mm width gives you a bigger tyre selection choice than the standard L322 20" size. Strictly speaking you should adjust the wheel diameter using the Gap diagnostic tool if you fit larger rims but I'm sure a lot of drivers don't bother.

Small pull to either side while driving is usually related to wheel alignment!. This will also cause a uneven scuffing and warning off of the tyres.
Worn bushings will cause a loose wheel feel, and pulling to both sides, normally accompanied with clanking sounds!

I agree with jason arches need doing now these cars rust from inside out one more thing there was no bubbling or rot on mine i just repainted the inner lip on both arches mines done 76000 miles, take after you lucy just love standard spec anyway good luck all the best keep the vids coming.

Re the rear washer jet not working, we had the same issue on our L322 Vogue. It was a bit of tubing that had popped off. Took the cover off inside the upper tailgate bit - a few clips - and a bit of fettling and Shaun fixed it nicely. That said ours had the water leaking inside the rear windscreen every time we pushed the jet which made us think it was tubing rather than the motor.

Tints depend on where you are: I live South Florida where the temperature is that of the surface of the sun, so having tints is a must.

As for the rear washer jet, get the spoiler off, three 10mm bolts, then pop off the jet angle cap, and see if it runs water out on operation, the jets block a lot, also there’s a coupling in roof lining just a couple inches under the lining from rear, that comes apart.. if nothing, check the bottle at front of car, for leaks and pump noise etc. rear tail straps are common issue, the best looking wheels are style 37, or ‘Westminster’ wheels. And importantly, are easy to clean too. Your wheels have 55 profile tyres, which suit the l322 better than standard 50 profiles, that give smoother ride, and fill arches a tiny bit better too. Rear hub bushes are common, and easy diy. When all you suspension issues are good, get it 4 wheel tracked. Oil leak could be the common oil heat exchanger leak… again diy, but check it is that first. Enjoy driving best engine/looking/driving REAL Range Rover!

A really lovely car, that blue colour is so classy. I really like the gunmetal wheels (I hate hate black alloys!) makes the car look very cohesive with the other trim. Silver wheels would be fine, but nothing wrong with very subtly 'updating' and L322, as it's such a timeless design. Tinted windows looks good too, not too 'drug dealer'! At the end of the day, it's quite an old, and complex, car so a to-do list has to be expected, but what a car you'll have when it's all sorted...!!

  • @Andris_Briedis
    @Andris_Briedis 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

About the windows. The only thing that makes sense is what you want. I have the first facelift of 2007. And the rear windows are also dark. Front lights. I like that. I'm even thinking of making the rear ones even darker, but so that I can see normally from the inside. And make the front side windows darker within the rules. As far as I remember up to 30%.
I like the front of the first facelift better than the second facelift. But there is one thing for which I am a little envious of the second facelift. The rear seats can be adjusted. This is sorely missed in my car.

Stunner of a RR Lucy. Not too bad of a list really. My Westminster is 2012 and thankfully my rust areas are the same as yours, so not something I’m panicking about but am going to sort soon. Hope you get the Tailgate sorted especially the right cable/strut. Mine has window tints too and I am mixed about removing them, I have a jet interior so will probably leave, think if I had an interior like yours I’d probably remove the tints to show off the lovely seats etc. I think that original silver wheels would be way more classy as well. I’d definitely love to see a detailing video and you should try CHIPEX for the small chips and scratches, absolutely fantastic product and is colour matched to your vehicle with the vin etc. Great to see you both with a beautiful big RR again and can’t wait to see more 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻

TUG TO THE LEFT: get this properly checked out PRONTO!! Because it's tugging to the left at the front, and you didnt describe it as a constant veering to the left, a more common cause could be someone's clumped a kerb hard and one of the suspension arms is deflecting somehow under load
PLEASE dont wait to get that checked and DON'T rely on just getting a wheel alignment done.
Water in fuel' - there is a common fault code that comes up telling you there's water in the fuel filter body. No there isn't! But, it might be time to change the filter - do an oil change while you're about it if the monitor is saying it's in the yellow.
Paintwork and tailgate: I commented on the first video that your tailgate is waaaaay too good at that mileage. The give away is the lack of badging. The tdv8 and Vogue se badges are stupid prices from LR. It also explains why the boot release isn't working.
Tbh it's saying it's either had a rear end shunt or the tailgate was bad and it's been replaced.
Others have mentioned the rear passenger, side and tailgate window tinting - it came like that from the factory, so leave it if you want it to be 'period original'.
Last thing - get those wheel arches sorted NOW!!!! Leave them much longer and they are going to cost a small fortune in bodywork!!!!
I've got the same year, colour etc, but a Vogue not an SE - and defo not the electric rear seats (I hate you!! 😂😂)

Hi Lucy. I had a Jaguar e-pace that would randomly pull to the right. It felt like the Lane Keep Assist was cutting in although I always had that feature switched off!. The dealer could find no reason for this to happen. The issue became so annoying and felt unsafe that I had to get out of the car. I am curious to see if you can get to the bottom of your pull to the left.

I can’t believe the rust you get in the uk on modern vehicles. We just don’t see it here in Australia, only cars that rust are generally 4x4s that have had regular beach and salt water driving.

Well, the UK gets sub zero temperatures every winter so they put salt on the roads. So it’s much like driving through seawater for the majority of the winter.

@@andrewwaller5913 so because it wasn’t cold last year they haven’t put salt down in the past? 😂🤦🏻
Do you think the fact they don’t rust as much now, maybe, has more to do with better seam sealer and under seal from the factory? Along with E coatings on metal panels before painting. Not how often salt is put down?
Wasn’t cold at all last winter? You evidently live in the South then.

@@Mac_F87 I'm not talking about years ago, it wasn't cold so no salt was put down. The point is Winters aren't cold anymore so cars don't rust, and as I've already stated they don't rust like 40 years ago.

' Keep as Nature Intended ' I think is the description you were looking for. So , Silver wheels, get rid of tinted glass so you can show off the class of that Parchment Ox Cream interior. Not sure what blue yours is, but it looks like mine ' Buckingham Blue '. Rare untinted , but gives that combo ' Class ' .
On a rear wash note, I think you will find two separate pumps, front and rear. Sit in cabin, listen to front wash pump, then just push rear wash pump and listen for any sound. No sound , pump might need thumping.
Messing with rear wash pipes in rear is a minefield. One false move with that boarding and the Sat Nav fin wires can start playing up ......... ops, sorry, rambled on a bit. Easy to do on one of these 😅
