Ingredients
2 cups of cake flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 whole eggs , 2 egg yorks, 1 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 stick of unsalted butter, 1/2 stick of butter shortening, 2 teaspoons of vanilla, 1 cup of milk
Chocolate frosting
4 cups of powder sugar, 1 stick of unsalted butter, 1/4 cup of milk, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/3 cup of Hershey cocoa special dark

My grandmother used to make this cake for me after I grew up an didn't have anymore birthday party.so she made me this.an gave me money..lord rest her soul. Thank you Ms t.for the memory
T to help your cake from sliding less you can frost the middle put it in the fridge for like 30 mins to get solid (the frosting) and then put the top layer and finish frosting the cake 🍰🎂 🧈

I made this cake and it was great! I used yellow food coloring instead of the extra yolks and it really did the trick. Plus I used Divas Can Cook old fashioned chocolate frosting recipe and it was PERFECT! My brothers were fighting to lick the bowl 😂 Thanks for sharing!

One of my favorites. It looks delicious to me It may still be a little warm. If I want a cake to cool fast I cool it off with a standing fan. Also for the egg yolk is 1 like you said in the video or 2 as on the recipe. I’m only asking for those who may not go back to the video 💖💖💖

My mom is a baker and that what she said too the icing have to be thick because the cake will push and slide she said it’s better to put the layer that’s lope sided at the bottom too to keep it sturdy cake was beautiful though I would’ve just switched layers top and bottom and thickens the icung

You can put a skewer in the cake to keep it in place but don’t forget to take skewers out you might have to much frosting in the center Sis😇🙏🏼👍👌

Hey SoulfulT love the cake. SoulfulT I think Kitchen aid has an attachment that will help with getting all your ingredients in the bowl. I believe it is half steel and half rubber. You are an amazing cake maker, you need to sell those cakes. Great Job!! 😀

I used to be terrible at frosting a cake. I have learned that it takes PATIENCE and TIME. Never frost a cake that was just baked. Wrap it tight and put it in the fridge for at least a few hours. The cake will settle and the frosting will stick to the cake and won't ooze out like that. This one thing has changed my life.
No worries. If I was at your house I would eat it because I know it is delicious 😋
Next time try inserting wooden skewers around perimeter of cake,this will help with the sliding after frosting.

I need some round deep dish cake baking pans like that!! My cakes always come out skinny and flat !! Lol , I want cakes that are tall and round like yours !!
My cake layers I make the day ahead and let them cool overnight by placing wax paper in between the layers on a plate and the next day ready to frost comes out perfect.

Hi please clarify the egg yolk and sugar quantity please. On the video you say 1 egg yolk but on the description you listed 2. The same for the sugar on the video you say 2 cups of sugar on the description you listed 1 1/2 cups. Please thank you.
