    I couldn't help but notice how many times you apologized in this video for explaining the "silly little things" but FYI those things really do add up and sometimes people don't know until they're pointed out. Half the time I felt validated by some little thing you explained that I already knew and the other half of the time I found myself thinking, "Oh, so THAT's why that keeps happening [in whatever way does or doesn't work for me]!" So keep on sharing and explaining away because I, for one, really appreciate the info and seeing how someone else deals with all those little things really does help me improve my own habits and skill sets! 😊❤❤

      TY! TY! TY! That's great to hear b/c I realize we've all learned to sew/quilt in very different ways. Anytime I watch someone quilting I'll see a trick that can help me, or at least an awareness of how I may deal with a particular challenge. Recording while I sew brings up lots of these 'little lessons' - I just didn't want to get too far off track! LOL How do you feel about the length of the video? it sure got long quickly. :) Happy Quilting,
      Lea Louise

      @@InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise I have no problem with the length of the video. To be honest, I often set the playback speed in the settings to the fastest (on virtually all YT videos, not just yours 😉). If I miss anything I can always rewind and replay or slow down, but the more info given means more opportunity for me to learn and hone my own skills, so bring it on! 😁

    This is hands down the best video I've seen on building the log cabin! It's all those little things you explain along the way that I've had problems with and didn't know why. Experienced quilters all saying the log cabin "it's the easiest" was so discouraging to me because mine were always a mess (to me anyway) and I couldn't figure out how to make it turn out right!?! Now after hearing you explain how to solve many of those "little things" I'm now confident I can do a beautiful log cabin. Ty Ty Ty ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much

    • @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise
      @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You absolutely can, Terri! It's always 'easy' once you know how but it's the getting there that's the challenge. We've all been first-timers so don't be discouraged. Please let me know if there are any other 'little things' you could use some help with. I'll be glad to help! So appreciate your comment! TY 😍 Happy Quilting,
      Lea Louise

      Girl, are you watching every video from beginning to end? 🤣 If you want a laugh, check out my very first video. It's still on my channel because viewers keep watching it, even though it's very poor quality. That's why I love quilters - they are so forgiving!! Have a great weekend & Happy Quilting,

    I really like the idea of just connecting the strips.

      That's one of my timesaving go-to's! It's quickens the process and creates some great blended fabrics at the same time - a win! win! Happy Quilting,

    Very much enjoying your technique of sewing the strips together

    • @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise
      @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, Cynthia! I'm all about finding a quicker and easier way. The question is whether precutting all those strips is faster than the extra trimming of the strips. The pieced strips are what I particularly like b/c of the fabric variations that occur. Just more fun ideas. :) Happy Quilting,
      Lea Louise

      Wish I could be of more help, Robbie. I purchased this FQ bundle just this past March but it was released a couple years ago. It's from Quilting at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, SC. No website, but they will cut and ship fabric for phone orders. Originally I was selecting yardage when I found the bundle. So I know they had the entire line on bolts. I will be following QT Fabrics for their future collection releases now that I know how much I enjoy their designs and especially the bold colors. Thanks so much for watching! Happy Quilting,

    I have found the easiest way to figure out where you are when you’re adding strips, you always add on the side that has 2 seams. If you look at your block, there’s always only one side that has 2 seams.

    • @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise
      @InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the great tip, Bev! It seems silly that we can get lost on such a simple block, but I can't tell you how many times I've added a strip to the wrong side! LOL I have a few blocks in this quilt where I did just that. You'll get to see them in the next video. Happy Quilting,
      Lea Louise
