Got this game for the switch about a week ago and can't put it down. Im about to do the final boss but looking forward to post game and BBI. Your video was really helpful in getting the sense of it. Such an underrated game, hope they make a sequal
This game is so freaking amazing! Dart, thanks for the intro--- I really liked the specifics about Death being attracted to light... I had no idea. I killed the dragon but didn't know that I was supposed to jump down. I came here looking for how to open the side gates. Thanks again! Definitely letting it be a surprise for people to explore is the way to go.
This clears up a lot. I was so confused why I’m here barely starting the game and everything kills you in one shot. Ha I’m going back to complete the main story first.
Always go there at level 47 or so. Run away from the strongest monsters and FOCUS on the weakest encounters. By the time you get to the Forgothen City you are gonna have leveled up 20 levels or so. By then. Restast the dungeon and go again. Have fun! 😂😂😂
6:19 just to let you know you can get Lvl.3 weapons and armor by killing bigger bads, Prisoner GoreCyclops, Death, Garm, all have higher chance to drop them pre-Daimon.
You are right however I wasn't really concerned about highlighting drops from these creatures for this video as this is a basic guide and most of those creatures aren't something you can farm your first trip to bitterblack.
@@Dart-gv7dy Yeah but a few of them can be cheesed for easy lvl 3 gear like the condemned gorecyclops having a ranged party and just shooting his face sense he cant really hit you on the bridges. everything thing else yeah its pretty difficult but having a easy farm of CGC and the Gazer would easily grant you lvl 3 bitterblack stoof which lets be honest allows you to have a easier time fighting the creatures there. :)
Yea but the gorecyclops doesnt drop level 3 cursed items. Neither does garm. Only way to get lvl 3 is master thief on cyclops and that's only for lvl 3 gear. Plus like I said these are beginner tips a beginner to bitterblack who doesn't have bitterblack weapons and armor already probably won't even be able to damage the cyclops unless they bring op pawns with them and waste an hour waiting for their AI to kill it.
@@Dart-gv7dy well a beginner who farmed everfall and got those items are more then able to fight the high monster in bitterblack without sense DA is a expansion :)
If they grind to max level then sure but you would be surprised the difference in strength between bitterblack gear and base game gear. It's larger than you may think. My tips were more for first time players who probably didn't worry about optimization or power building. Either way it is pointless to farm any of the bitterblack isle enemies other than daimon for lvl 3 weapons and armor. I don't consider death a viable farming for those items only because unless you use and exploit or optimize for stagger you can't kill him in one fight. You are better off getting the items from daimon speed running or chests.
Solid vid, you should get a bump with the game coming to Switch in a few weeks. I checked in to my PC save and completely forgot how to play the game so these vids will be helpful, cheers. ... I never did attempt BBI previously so even at lvl 97 there are a whole bunch of mechanics I never touched on in prior playthroughs... never mind that I have no idea how the quests went that I did complete post-game.... I went to Everfall a bunch? Don't remember that! etc etc
bbi is fun to challenge at the start of the game and gosh the difficulty is so much fun even if you are so weak but in all honestly i just farm bbi for wakestones then run the main story
Awesome video dude! I’ve played dragons dogma 4 times but never played the dlc. Now I’m coming back to it on PS4 and I’ll say I got passed the 2nd boss but I’m getting my ass kicked as an assassin.
Thanks, I didn't know that the monsters changed if I beat the main game. BTW, your voice is a bit low compared to the game volume, it was hard to understand you during some fights.
Alejandro Lopez Ruiz yes I had to adjust my mic a bit many people have told me this. Unfortunately I had already uploaded the video before realizing it.
I beat the first run through in a week at level 50-55 it definitely was not easy I was getting one hit killed over and over. It was my first time playing so I didn’t know the enemies I was facing like he said you should level up and get gear. Unless your crazy and go in at level 10 like me 😂.
I really appreciate this video that you've done on this island I am a longtime play of Dragons Dogma a platinum it on the PlayStation 3 but I did not get this expansion and tell I got the game on PlayStation 4. So of course the first thing I do at level 1 is come to the island. And it's freaking hard. What I'm struggling to find at the moment is what the right path through this Labyrinth is I'm stuck and I know that you're probably going to turn around and say to come back here when you're level 100 but I want to do it now I'm loving the challenge
Emma C you can go at any level. If you platinumed the game on PS3 you can run through for a while. Skill is the biggest thing in bitterblack veteran players can come here much earlier. The only issue you will have is some enemies will have to much defense for you to even damage. However if you level quickly and get good gear you can fight here fine at any level.
Dart1920 I've done ok so far I found one moon crystal and open the door and then in that door I found the big eyeball gargantuan thing I can't kill that obviously because I'm so low level and I have a feeling I need to kill it to get a key so I think I'm stuck and I need to come back I think I opened the wrong door first. What door did you go through first or did you just go through the closest one
Emma C bitterblack isle is linear. You can only go through one way. The eyeball you are fighting is the gazer. You have to kill him to proceed. Honestly he is quite easy. If you survive long enough he will use four tentacles to make a glowing orb. If you can kill those 4 tentacles you can us ethe magic orb to kill the gazer. However I do recommend at least going till you got some good gear than come back. bitterblack isle will challenge well into the game.

Lv 60 warrior, just recently beat the dark bishop and made it to the floor that immediately puts you up against a lich once you enter, before I could even kill anything the carrion eaters spawn in. Two! Ive been stuck at this part for god knows how long. Currently lv 72 now with all my gear at second tier dragonforged and i still can't get through this damn floor. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
You'll gain levels quickly there. You will probably meet a roadblock at the first main boss or if not him the second. Just get the bitterblack gear purified and your gear will take a noticable jump.
Should I go to bbi in post-game level 72 defeated ur dragon a few times, or should I finish the main story, start a ng+ and go to bbi as soon as i beat the hydra?
Im just curious with a level 100 ranger with the 2nt best bow and daggers... Why it takes a year to kill enemies... Ive seen people farm conq priaps and shit but I feel like thats too unreliable.
What augments do you use. Augments play a big role in builds. Also a lot of people use blast arrows to maximize damage. Plus unless the weapons you use are at least dragon forged or preferably rarified the damage is subpar for a lot of bitterblack monsters.
@@Dart-gv7dy I actually somehow corrupted my save and I'm with a new character. The augments I was using where the two reduction of damage ones(magic and strength), trajectory, sinew, and I forgot the last two. My gear was dragon forged, I kind of cheated with the makers finger and the cursed dragon in the moonbeam gem treasure room. I think where I went wrong was I never used any strength enhancing potions/priapts. I seemed to always do really well with magic archer when buffing myself with my dagger skill, even though all I had was the helix bow.
Discipline points are separate from experience. They are more based on vocation leveling which if you see my vocations video will give you more info. But basically anytime you get exp from a monster a percentage is awarded as displine points as well. However it is an inverse relationship. My exp monsters give a smaller percentage of dcp low exp monsters give more dcp percentage.
I am lvl like 60 and have just killed the red dragon and the eye when u jump the hole. i started Bitterblack Isle Basics few lvl ago. I am to the point where u get the void key and the skeleton dragon shows up. At this point i do nearly zero damage to all monsters . I went to the shop and i can not really get any better wrapons. i think i am stuck. not sure if i am doing something wrong
The skeleton dragon is basically when bitterblack tells you it's serious. If you had a hard time getting damage on it then it's best you go farm exp to increase stats and get gear to 3 stars. Also something else to look at is your augments. They play a huge roll in your damage output. There is a 10% boost and a 20% boost for both magick and strength that can make a big difference in getting through an enemies resistances.
There really isn't a specific place to farm that I can think of. Some people use a wright (I think that's what it is) near the greatwall that summons hoards of undead but to do that you gotta make sure pawns don't kill the wright and only focus on undead. Another option is if you can kill the drake in devilfire grove then farm him. Use a pilgrims charm or veterans periphet to double exp right before killing him and you'll gain levels fast. Then just rest at the camp nearby for 7 days and he should respawn. Other than that just get as pilgrim charms and veteran periphet as you can and go farm big enemies for levels. You can buy some from fornival. If you wanna farm vocation then the best place is from that rest camp in devilfire head south then west through the forest killing all the goblins. Then head south and then east basically making a circle towards the bandit camp through the suarians. Goblins, hobgoblins, and suarians work great for vocation farming. Once they are all dead head back to camp and rest until everything respawns.
He shows up only in specific places. He shows up at the tower the first time and Everytime until you beat the first boss I believe. After that he shows up in the safe rest areas in the dungeon (there are two) other than that he randomly shows up in the areas where you can leave the dungeon after a boss fight and after beating the final boss the first time he permanently stays on the beginning area next to the notice board.
The two shortcuts on the Isle are both unlocked after beating the first two bosses of the isle. After the boss fight you enter into an area that has two paths one continues deeper the other opens the exit.
Best way to get RC by killing man eaters , there is a 1/3 chance to get RC after killing them n when they die they can drop almost 25k . More than most bosses I think it's a glitch and I don't see forums speak on it as a method of getting RC which is rare since it's probably the best . I'll GB sometimes until I get a man eater chances are he will come up again if you restart so I save before opening
First time playing DD ( original.None Dark Arisen) I'm Max lv 200..it's just TRAINING to go into BBI...I order Dark Arisen..just so I can get the expansion. i have the benefits of Videos...to help me. I disagree with you....I believe it's the damn PAWN being CHATTY all the damn time that makes DEATH wants to tell them to STFU or DIE.lol I get lost when I enter a new area..or get blinded sided by creatures..that I havnt figure out their spawn locations..it's always Creepy when you first walk through a dark hall way...that you never been.lol If you dont have the proper weapons or know how..it dosnt matter how much HP you have..you'll die EASY...but after you master it..You wanna POKE DEATH in the EYE..just for kicks and giggles.
Sorry about the late reply. I haven't played in a bit but if you send me a request on PSN or give me your PSN I can check them out for you. It's mainly augments and inclination that determine if a pawn is setup correctly or not.
I'm not sure exactly what you really wanted. Bitterblack is really simple other than the stuff I explained. Only thing I could have done more was discuss the specific monsters to bitterblack however half the fun is experiencing them for the first time. This was mainly about the new mechanics introduced than anything else.
Honestly, having just experienced BBI for the first time a couple of days ago, this is all you really need to know. Maybe a mention that a "light" enchantment seems to be more often helpful than a fire enchantment, but other than that, I enjoyed that there were no spoilers. If you're looking for a "how do I beat BBI", maybe looking for a walkthrough would be more what you're looking for.
Going here right after you get your own pawn and exploring blindly is amazingly fun

Yes man-eaters can be great for RC but as you said it's unreliable and random so most people prefer trying to get their pawn summoned.
First time playing DD ( original.None Dark Arisen) I'm Max lv 200..it's just TRAINING
to go into BBI...I order Dark Arisen..just so I can get the expansion.
i have the benefits of Videos...to help me.
I disagree with you....I believe it's the damn PAWN being CHATTY all the damn time
that makes DEATH wants to tell them to STFU or DIE.lol
I get lost when I enter a new area..or get blinded sided by creatures..that I havnt figure out their spawn locations..it's always Creepy when you first walk through a dark hall way...that you never been.lol
If you dont have the proper weapons or know how..it dosnt matter how much HP you have..you'll die EASY...but after you master it..You wanna POKE DEATH in the EYE..just for kicks and giggles.
Are you on PS4?
Yes I recorded this on PS4.
@@Dart-gv7dy my pawn is still a work in progress, I'm in in pre Damon and just before final battle. Would you mind adding me and giving me your input?
Sorry about the late reply. I haven't played in a bit but if you send me a request on PSN or give me your PSN I can check them out for you. It's mainly augments and inclination that determine if a pawn is setup correctly or not.
@@Dart-gv7dy Cool Beans. My PSN is sheldragon8503. Pawn name is Scarlet.
i always go here to destroy the main game
i cant see the women, im here at night and she isn't here, idk what to do and im so close to giving up
Bitterblack level design sucked imo, everything looks the same
I need u to go into there I need some help with it so can you help me out with that and how do you do a frunt flip u are a hacker
I'm not sure what you need help with could you be more clear? Also The front flip is a double jump from the dagger wielding classes.
This wasnt very helpful. I just entered bbi and wanted tips to prepare for my first run through.
F bitter lack. Mim lvl 100
