Doing my first play-through now in 2022, this helped so much! Ripping things apart for the win! 😈 I feel strider may be the best class in the game to finish on for its skills tho
I used to like the melee-based vocations back in 2012 but now I love using the sorcerer some of the higher level spells end battles as soon as you cast them
I'm finally returning to this game after a few years. This is gonna help me a lot since I wiped my old character instead of figuring out what I was doing
WB! Glad it will help you get refreshed. I'm feeling the itch to play it again myself lol. My PC took a nose dive recently so I need to setup OBS and Sony Vegas again at some point. I'll try to get another guide or something started if I do. There's a ton of things I never got to explain in this video about the game. Btw , If you want to have more than one save file, On Nexusmods.com there is a Dragons Dogma : Dark Arisen Save Manager you can download. I find it insanely helpful when testing new things out. :) GL on your playthrough Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much, I just got this game on the switch and was curious on the different classes “vocations” and what they would turn into later. This helped a ton!
I'm a new player. I started with the figher class and changed to the magic knight one. I was a little worried about the stats of my character. But after watching this vid i now know he'll been pretty well balanced in everything. That's great because i kinda wanted that anyway
Hey, I’m an old gamer who has played through the Souls/Bourne series, Sekiro, Nioh, Surge etc..I was looking for something different and came across this classic, Dragon’s Dogma looks good but the vocations and level up system seems really confusing. I’ve watched countless videos so far ,before I begin this game, and your video is by far the best at explaining how to begin a character, I know it was a long time ago that you made it, but it’s still helping us new players start this title on the right foot lol. Thanks for your help Sir..😉
MindGame Labs thanks! with your guide, I should be starting out on a good note. I can’t count how many builds I’ve botched from the beginning lol I’ll play it as soon as I’m done playing Dragon’s Age Inquisition...I’m late playing yet another great title, better late than never...thanks for replying
You are so true mate I bought this Game two days ago and became so confused or better said insecure about what i want to do, that i stopped playing every 10 Minutes or so, still in the beginning Zone after the cyclops. And thats so weird because everytime i am super stoked to Play it, until I Play it. This Video helped me a lot as well
:) Welcome back! This game is amazing right? Ya, I love how complex it is. Sadly I didn't have a lot of spare time ATM , life is kinda sideways. So This is more of a hobby when I can find the time lol TH-cam doesn't pay the bills. I have a lot of video idea's id love to do. I'll try to set aside some time to do another video , I missed teaching you'll how to use the purification system and the gearing system maybe I'll try to whip up a guide for that. Its a pretty complex system that's never explained in detail on how to use in game either. But thanks for watching my video! Good Luck in your playthrough!
the game is amaizingly good .. if you take the time to learn it! id evem say better them dark souls seris lol Gald my smol guide helped! i had to much more to tech but life pc issues and stuff racked up!
@@ShyRaiGaming Dark Souls is one of my all time favorites, I told myself if I can get through them I can get through this lol If I find anyone who needs help with this game, this is the video I’m sending to them. You did an awesome job brother, definitely subscribed.
@@cheekloins4126 Thanks really appreciate the support! I really need to get more free time to make more guides or at least finish a project lol but life alwayys seems to tear me away. if you have any questions feel free to ask, This video was only the small part of the games systems, like i said i had much more i wanted to teach, but the purification systems are like an hour long video by itself and I could do some cool trick kills at low levels on BBI for some tips. Its just finding the time, Thank you again for watching and the amazing comment these kinds comments are the best since i know im still helping people and drives me to continue making more videos! I'll see what i can slap togeather at the end of the month! Have a good one!
All my life in gaming I rarely use warrior and fighter classes in games, . . . But in Dragons Dogma, the action of the game is hype, . . . That I love Greatswords and that sword and shield weapon, . . . Its epicly very interesting, . . . Well Im lazy climbing enemies 😂😂😂
Well, tbh this guide was only a small fraction of the things you need to know for the game just to play what vocation you want effectively. Yes this game is very overwhelming to new players. But you will never have more fun with a game once you take your time and learn it. I never got back around to making more guides since life is kinda being a pain. Plus I only play the Bitterblack Isle content. I start at lvl 4 out there after I create one pawn. Bitterblack Isle content is ment for high leveled characters the max is 200. It took me months of reading and months of testing to get good at the game and learn everything I know about Bitterblack Isle. My best advice for you is to take the game slowly test new things out, explore everwhere, talk to every NPC you can. Dont worry about dying so much and save often if you're in a new area. Don't try to learn it all at once because you'll drive your self silly. It's an enormous game but totally worth your time! I hope this helps and you keep trying to play the game. I did this same thing after I bought it, quit playing after a week and then finally game back months later and commited to learn it. Thanks for watching tho, sorry if it wasn't completely helpful to you. GL!
lol, the game released back in 2012 but its one of those super hard no in game tutorial type games so it's kinda a hidden gem! I love this game! :) Hope the guide helps!, Btw Dragons dogma 2 is in the works i hear :)
Playing now for the first time. was level 23 when I discovered how the stats worked. Luckily I was a strider so I was balanced mostly, but I’m doing sorcery now to boost my magic and will do mage next to further boost magic and get some magic augments, then a little fighter for health followed by assassin for stamina, and finally my end goal is magic archer. Keeping the dagger skills I love plus double jump and dodge but having magic as an option. If I get another playthrough before DD2 comes out it will be way better planned, but even if I don’t I’ll have enough base Knowledge to dominate in the sequel
So glad it helped! Ya can't wait for DD2 to come out, but sadly my PC can't run any of the new games out :( So ill have to wait till i can upgrade my PC. :) If you're playng on PC head over to Nexusmods - www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/40 This was a huge life saver when testing new builds and allowing myself to have more then 1 save / character setup. GL on your playthrough and with DD2! :D
Just picked this game up and am really lookin forward to picking it apart. Thank you for all the info and explaining cuz I def wouldn’t be able to figure this stuff out on my own
I like your informative video, this actually helped me understand more. You we're right about newbies getting confused at the start. Thanks for the information. Keep it up! :D
I'm currently at level 46 and while I've heard that stats per level differs depending on vocations, I didn't realize it was to this extent. I always just thought "oh mages just increase magick attacks or something". I didn't realize it also affected health, stamina and defenses
I’ve been playing Dragon’s Dogma for years and didn’t even realize that the character’s sizes determine certain things like carrying capacity and stuff like that. I always wondered why some of my pawns had such a huge bar of “very light” weight.
Thank you for the video. I'm just gettin into the game and am glad that my predictions and the idea about the system was confirmed in this video. Very thorough info and a neat voice/ audio quality! Thumbs up! :)
Found this game recently and was like screw it, but I thought I'll watch some youtube videos on it. Found a few but they were bad, so I was like screw it. Your video was my last one and I wanted to say screw it like, at least 5 times, but I never did. Your vid was very helpful and I'm enjoying the game.
I'm not a newbie with this game. Had it on the PS3 and now the PS4 version but I never really understood any of this because I never really cared about it. I just enjoyed completely ranking all of the Vocations in the game to max. Never understood how the stat system worked.
helped a lot. I hope nowadays you write a script before filming. you said the important things but it took you longer than it needed. at least I didn't have to rewind though. still very helpful thanks
I don't have the time to script things, 99% of my videos are off the cuff. This video was only 1% of the knowlege you need to know to play this game lol. i do this because i like helping people. Take the time to write up an eassy on these topics in dry format without the lingo involved to understand it yourself friend.
I went with mystic archer, tho thats best all around and can take out enemies from a distance and don't have to try on aiming with the bow so much just make sure have socceror or good mage with spells that suit you
@@ShyRaiGaming that helps, thanks. Tackling BBI at startup says a lot about your skills as a player. I am impressed. I took a crew in there at level 20 and only got about half way down before having my head handed to me on a pike.
@@ShyRaiGaming that would be awesome, for both. Haven't played Dark Souls in awhile and BBI is just the most crazy, twisted dungeon crawl I have ever encountered.
For example, I using the mystic Knight vocation. So I'm mainly using a sword & magic shield, but I want to switch over to using my staff when I'm fighting certain foes.
NP! Glad it helped sort a few things out for you on your fresh start! I hope to make more DD videos but recently my PC went kaboom lol so trying to get it working and stable ASAP! Best advice I can give you starting out is downloading this DDDA Save Manager - www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/40 DD only allows 1 save at a time, This will help you test all the things or Save fresh starts so you can skip the tutorial zone when making new vocations :) GL! on your playthrough and remember just have fun and experiment with everything its such a great game!
For new players I hope you dont take stat planning seriously when you first start out, becuase you spend more time worried about stats than you do playing the game BUT.. if you want a balanced build for physical strider 1-10, ranger 10-200 if you want a balanced build for magic strider 1-10 ramger 10-100, sorcerer 100-200
You're welcome! Thanks for watching! Glad it helped you out! Hope to find time to make more guides like this, lifes just been kind of a pain latelty. :) Happy Turkey day!
Thank you so much, this was extremely helpful. Total newbie here. My only confusion is.. is there a way to just unlock the augmentations from the other vocations without levelling up that vocation? Or does that really not matter?
You're welcome! Glad it Helped! ( TL:DR - Vocation Ranks are for ( Useable ) Skills By that Vocation - Augments are Quality of Life ( Passive ) Perks to help Character *Augment small changes in gameplay - Secret Augments are Rare only gained from the Purification System * I know how to get them But never used them! ) - As to you question, the augment system comes in 2 types, Your Normal and Your Secret. Normal ones you just unlock passively as you level your vocations Rank, Secret Augments are found by Purifying a scroll you find. Both the Augment system and Purification systems could take 1 hr each to explain in detail. But, I believe Augments are just something to help with quality of life, Like one in the Video is " Halves the stamina while carrying object " another " Halves the amount of stamina while climbing ". To be totally honest here I cant recall if i ever used secret augments lol, See I've never played the main game, I just do a low level challenge run on Bitter Black Isle, a DLC content Zone that's all its own. It's meant for level 150-(200max) players. I go there at the start of the game with 1 pawn at lvl 4 and I've beaten Both version of the end boss at like 57 delete my character and try to do it lower. So I have noooo Idea about anything in the main story / world. So Vocation skills some of the low Rank ones cross over to other Vocations, But like a Sorcerer can't use a mid or high Rank Fighter Skill , but Augments are for everyone, Now don't quote me on the Secret Augments There might be some in Super high Rank/levels that are Vocation specific. I really with I had the time to make some more videos to explain this but life is kinda not being nice atm. Now here's what I would do if I were new to the game, I'd focus mainly on What vocation i want to play, then how does this vocation need to be played, (melee/ranged/caster) , then focus on what Skill I need to play effectively, Then after that I would worry about adding perks Like Augments Reading each one and see how that effects my Vocation choice, This game is a lot and a a lot of trial and error With a HUGE Learning curve. But if you stick with it the game is amazing! Please let me know if you have any questions again. I do still try to answer back when people ask me something :) GL on your playthrough!
Thanks man this helped a ton. I wanna play assain too. should i buy Vocations before lvl 10 because they are cheap?, or sould i hold on to all Dis. Point untill lvl 10?
Glad it helped out! So much more I'd love to teach everyone just can't find the time to make more videos, Lifes being a pain atm. Well, it depends on a few things. See you can level pretty quickly to lvl 10 before you have enough Discipline points to buy a new vocation. Now I do low level challenge runs so I try not to Level my character as much as possible for that reason so I farm Discipline points by killing things like Rabbit, Deer, and Birds at a cost of low xp but still can get discipline points. So if I were you just playing normally for the 1st time or so. Just stockpile all the discipline points you need for the vocation you want to buy then once you hit the amount and are lvl 10 or Higher Learn the vocation you want. You will then have to farm out more to purchase skills for that vocation you picked ofc but Discipline points come passively from doing anything so there is no way NOT to get them over time. :) If this is your 1st playthrough Just take the time to explore and test things. Dragon's Dogma has one flaw that you can only have 1 save at a time. so i'd recommend getting this so you can have more then 1 save for different vocations or for testing things out :) www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/40 Hope that helps!
@@ShyRaiGaming thanks a lot! yeah i just play on normal and try stuff out, and when my build is too bad i could still continue on easy i guess. yes this with the save is annyoing. i just failed a quest because i accepted another that triggerd an even. when i tried to realod i was there again. Atleast i won`t savescum the game :-D i play on PS5

@@ShyRaiGaming thanks man already love the game so faar exactly my type of game! So glad i found it. Btw. Sorry to bother but a pawn of me just looted equipment and equipped it, and when i wanted him to give it to me it just said "item sent back to the creator of the pawn" or something like that. So... Will they just loot and equip stuff and I can't get it back?
@@ThorgalsWalhalla It would seem you are using the Online part of the game Were you can rent someone elses pawn. Mostly anything they pick up will be sent back to them as part of the system. If you didn't already know you can create your own pawns to follow you around and be rented as well. You do this at the very start of the game. When you head to the basecamp outside the starting town after you beat the cyclops outside the basecamp. The pawn system is something I've never used as far as renting someone elses pawn. Now plenty of people have rented mine and they come back with tons of riftcrystals and items. Its best to probly to make at least 1 personal pawn for yourself to help carry stuff I make at least 1 during my challenge runs for this reason even tho i could solo it just saves time. You cacn if you want to turn off the Online play in the menu to avoid renting others peoples pawns but it also stops others from renting yours. As long as you dont rent others pawns and use your own you won't run into the issue of other pawns stealing your stuff. :) Hope that helps!
Why am I watching this ? I played this too much and I still play sometimes, I even created an extra save slot to create tiny character just to fit to those tiny spaces you can't normally go to.
You have to be level 10 minimum to see them and have the 1500 Disicipline to buy them. Before level 10, the only 3 vocations you get to choose from are Fighter, Strider, and Mage. Hope that helps you out! I normally get to BBI by lvl 3-4 with 1 pawn. Go and kill the Big Eyeball boss then swap over. :) Let me know if that is your issues just be lower then lvl 10.
I didnt see it, but by chance, do you have any tips when it comes to crafting and gathering? I find myself just grabbing everything. Dont want to accidently sell something, like my trusty bucket, and need it later lol
If you're already at level 10 is it really necessary to leave the first tier of vocation for the advanced? Ex. Fighter-warrior. How about the hybrid vocation, is there an ideal level to go for it? I just started playing DD and I'm still not sure how to level my character.
So does that mean if I wanted a tanky sorcerer or whatever I can go level my warrior then switch back and have those gains as well or do they stats switch around depending on your vocation at the time?
The stats gained do not change. But to really gain enough stats to tank, you'll have to spent alot of time on that vocation. And warrior provides little growth in magick and magick defence especialy after lvl 100. So to be an effective sorcerer later, you'll have to plan ahead and switch vocations around during leveling pre lvl 100 and post 100 to be somewhat tanky while still having the damage to deal with foes. Vocations to consider: warrior for HP and physical def growth (40hp, 3 physical defence, 1 magick def and 2 magick attack per lvl up to 100) Mystic Knight: For HP and magick def/atk growth (30 HP and 3 phys aswell as magick def and magick atk) And ofc sorcerer (16 HP, 1 phys def and 5 in both magick def and atk) Keep in mind that the stat growth changes drasticly after lvl 100. Also don't forget that you should rank other vocations (you don't need to lvl up to rank vocations) for their needed augments (which can be equiped across vocations).
I'd assume you're using a controller? If so depends on what weapon , The Left button bumper will toggle your secondary weapon i.e. Bows and Shields, Your Right Button bumper will open up new skills for your Primary weapon, Now lets say you're an assassin and you have a shield equipped in your left button bumper slot, you have to use the menu and go into your inventory and equip a Bow to change that weapon. Same thing with your main hand, There is no quick swap option to change gear / weapons while in combat. You just have to press start and manage your equipment like you would using consumables like mushrooms and things. :) Hope that's what you were looking for!
Okay lol, its been a while since I've played so I had to start up the game again, Now depending on if you use a controller or mouse and keyboard you have to use different buttons to access your skills. Heavy and Light attacks on the attack bar are just basic auto attacks used to do standard damage, To use skills you have set for your Main hand weapon or your off-hand you will for the Controller, Press and hold the Left Bumper to use Off-hand skills like shields and bows , Press and hold the Right Bumper to use Main hand skills like Blink strike and spells. If you are using a Keyboard and mouse Press and hold the Left Ctrl to use Off-hand skills - and Press and Hold Left Alt to use Main hand skills. Hope that clears things up for you. Now you got me wanting to play Dragons dogma again lol I love this game so much I just havent had the time to make more videos on it life is being a pain. Thanks for watching GL on your Playthrough! Let me know if you need any more help!
Does tiers of the class matter? Like do I need to be mystic knight, assassin, or magick archer to be able to do endgame or can I also just use fighter?
Now to be fair I've only ever played on Bitter Black Isle for my challenge runs. It's a zone all to itself meant for end game characters only like level 125 to 200. I've beaten Damon 1 and 2 at lvl 57 ish? Its been a while as an assassin without a pawn. From what I've read and been told, You can beat the game as ANY Vocation just as long as you can do the damage and stay alive. It's mostly learning the enemies you're facing and then making a plan from that. Like Some enemies are harder to kill with magic but weak vs Physical attacks and Vise Versa. It's one of the greatest things about this game. There's so many ways to come at a fight with different vocations and strategies. So for your question, I only used the term Tiers as a way to explain the vocations. So Yes you can beat the game as a Fighter might have to look into getting a weapon that deals Magic Damage and research what skills you will need but its totally doable. :) Hope that helps! Let me know if you have anymore questions :)
@@Zfanesque It's an Open world RPG there really is no Wrong way to play it tbh lol. I find if you're new to the game just goof around and figure things out by trail and error. If you go to Nexusmods there is a mod called DDDA Save Manager. It allows you to load different saved playthroughs. So you could have 1 save your really trying to do well on, and other saves your just testing things out on or goofing around with. It might help you stress less about making wrong choices on your serious playthrough :) Remember its just a game and have fun!
They dropped ball on assassin should have been two handed weapons instead of sword and shield. They already had another sword and shield mythic knight tier 3 class. They didn’t have a big two handed tier 3 class not sure why they forgot about it. A faster more agile big sword like a massamune sephiroth sword would been great!!
Not really sure what you're trying to say, But Assassian is one if not Most OP Vocations in the game, I was explaining the core systems. Not the gear or optimal load outs. I was just on my low level figher on Bitter Black Isle while making this video. Mystic knight I understood they are Mace/Staff/Shield caster type vocations and If you are using a your shield a lot while on you're assassian you're playing it wrong. I normally get Bardiche Daggers>Chilling Razers>Helmbartes make sure to get something with big magicka dmg like the Sapfire Daggers. I also make sure to pick up the Dragons Roost Shield just in case i need to block something early in the game but I parry with my dagger skill Easy Kill normally and the Dragon's Ire bow to get those ranged enemies. I snag a sword like Crossed Cinqueda > Cursed Bite or Devilsbane for my pawn and I. Tho never got the Framae blades because well, i delete my characters at like lvl 50-60's because I've already become to strong and have beat both the 1st mode and 2nd mode of Damon on Bitter Black Isle Solo without a pawn. I've never played the Main game. I just make a new toon get 1 pawn, and rest a the inn. Then Go to the docks and I'm at BBI by lvl 4 and start my challenge run. If you are looking for 2handers that are really great ones you can find them here. dragonsdogma.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Longswords Only The Warrior Vocation can only use them.
@@ShyRaiGaming you missed the whole point 😂 and wrote a Great Wall of china… I only ment they should had tier 3 hybrid class with a two handed weapon but maybe used it faster with faster attacks than slow but less powerful! Like sephiroth long sword attacks something quick and precision like assassin like.
@@emjaythegreat22 No, i totally got your point. Just don't see why 10years later after the games release. It kinda totally defeats the entire gameplay style of using 2handers STR builds.. They just don't have katana's in the game but plenty of other Weapons, Vocations and Skills with many ways to use each. just was no reason for a T3 class. Wait for Dragon's Dogma 2 in March, Mebbe they will have given you want you wanted. I was just trying to give more information to you for ways to get close to what you where looking for. A fast moving 2hander setup with a thin style blade. But all i can find atm is using www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma to change your gear to look like Sephiroth ( mebbe you will have to look around ) and find a 2hander like mebbe Malignance , Thousandlimbs, or Wounded Heart with adding the skill attack Indomitable Lunge (clearly Winds Harness is Assassian locked) to give you that katana style running slash. Took me all but 20 mins to think of this combo. :) Goodluck in DD2!!
If I want to use a mystic warrior I have to rank up the mystic separately because I already have the warrior at high rank, once I have the mystic at high rank the mystick warrior will appear, that's my question
yes, Warrior is a completely different Vocation than Mystic Knight's Vocation can be bought for i think 1000 or 1500 Discipline? Its been a while since I've played, You could pretty much start the game as a Mystic Knight once you farm out the discipline. Then purchase Mystic Knight and take the time to rank up the Mystic knight's Ranks to gain new spells/ skills specific to that vocation that are paid for with discipline as well. A pain if you want to swap but its kind of the part of the game I love since you can play everything if you just spend enough time and getting the gear. :) hope that helps sorry it took me a while to get back to you I had pneumonia! Let me know if you have anymore questions
thank you so much just picked the game up and you really helped me out, im trying to make the perfect mystic knight im lvl 17 played first 10 lvl as a mage and then switched to mystic knight any advice, or specific vocation i should lvl up before focusing on MK, again thank you for this awesome video.
so its a bit like multiclassing in D&D in the stats staking, I want from Strider, to MA then MK then Assassin , my pawn is pretty much stayed fighter but played a little as a warrior but I like her belter was a fighter, still trying to figure out how to effectively kill Death and Damion's 2nd form
Weapons are based on your current vocation. So if you wish to use 1hand weps and shields Fighter, Mystic Knight, A 2hander , Warrior, If you wish to use a Staff Mage, Sorcerer , and for Bows and daggers, Swords, Ranger , Strider, Assassin would be your choice. Let me know if that was what you were looking for. But in the menu when you go to change your vocation it shows you what Weapons the Vocation your swapping to can use. :)
I have a question i cant find the answer to. If i want to min/max and still get augments from other vocations is it possible to get them inn between levels? So basicly dose the stat icreas keep track of all exp and increas youre stats or is it just dependet on what vocation i am at the point of level up?
Just curious what you think if I want to do Magic Archer but not neglect its melee side should I level up Assassin to 30-40 just to have some strength? the rest I'll dump into sorcerer but I don't want to have a gimped melee attack.
Hey nice video learned alot. Have a quick question though: I used discipline to purchase skills but when I got to the menu to equip them they are not showing up, only the older ones show up. Can you purchase skills that you are to low level to equip? Or am I doing something wrong?
I wanna play as a melee char, so was thinking either fighter or warrior (not sure if one is better then the other) Should I just focus on leveling the class I want like fighter or warrior, or should I mix level both up? New to the game so not sure 🤷♂️
The only reason to pick something else is if you want for example more stamina or health/defenses. Since Sorc will give you alot of M.Attack and M.defense. But if you feel you run out of stamina too quickly it might be a good idéa to put some levels into another vocation.
@@voutideixarumoco6318 as u are the latest comment can u give me tips ago some clothes which should I use I am using a strider and I am a beginner and also how to craft things 🙏
What I need help with is more understanding the developer intended (?) gameloop. 90% of my time is spent frantically running around a battlefield, raising downed Pawns because the fucking mage just stood there again for the Nth time, eating a bandit's flurry. Then I get to swing my sword maybe twice before another idiot goes and gets itself killed. Am I just misunderstanding how this game is meant to be played? Are Pawns essentually discardable companies that meant to get shredded the moment a giant rat looks their way?
It's kind of nutty how if you want a super powerful Magick Archer (arguably the most braindead BBI endgame class if statted properly, MA sort of sucks against Ur unless you're rocking physical attack to use daggers instead) you want to play over 100 levels of SORCEROR, as you want that magic attack BAD. MA kinda plays like ass without it. You neglect spending time playing the class you want to play, and instead play what is almost certainly the most boring class in the game, because you mostly just stand around waiting for your casts to go off.
You can absolutely min/max to get over 800 magical attack, but I'd try to aim for about 600 in both physical and magical attack, because you'd have like 250 in your physical attack, making your daggers more or less useless. This is fine for most things, but if you want to do all of the content at max level, you're going to want something a LITTLE more balanced.
And plus, playing sorceror is boring as FUCK. I personally groaned through about 50 levels of it before I decided enough when I tried to do a truly min/maxed MA build. Just play Strider for a while instead, at least it's fun.
at 9:30 you show the stat planner. I'm now at 17:14 and still waiting for something to happen. Gratz for being able to talk about literally NOTHING for 10 min straight, or SCREW IT, 23:53 min straight.
Rank 10 is Max for a vocation. Actual level is like 200 max. The vocation you are using when you level determines your stat increase. Fighter would influence physical defence and strength, mage is magick defence and attack for example. You can rank your mage and if you watch your xp you could change vocation to a fighter then get the level and change back to mage if you don't want the mages stat boost but instead want some tankyness. It can get pretty crazy trying to control how your character and pawn level up

I feel strider may be the best class in the game to finish on for its skills tho
I used to like the melee-based vocations back in 2012 but now I love using the sorcerer some of the higher level spells end battles as soon as you cast them
watched this guide a week ago, now i’m facing the dragon
Thx for this tutorial. I love the game, but the lack of information is just painful. I spend like 20 hours just testing things and doing characters XD
And the worst is that you waste discipline points on skills you don't need.
@@bern9642 I mean you can always get more discipline points. It’s unlimited.
@@SoggySlopster I stopped playing it. 😅
You are so true mate
I bought this Game two days ago and became so confused or better said insecure about what i want to do, that i stopped playing every 10 Minutes or so, still in the beginning Zone after the cyclops. And thats so weird because everytime i am super stoked to Play it, until I Play it.
This Video helped me a lot as well
Eric Wolbring yes, games can be so frustrating at times, but there’s a lot of useful videos and tips out there..don’t give up man lol
Thanks Bro! I'm returning and I forgot how big brain this game really is, you have made my experience a little easier. really hope we get a sequel!
It took me 3 tries before I forced myself through the early game. This video helped me so much.
the game is amaizingly good .. if you take the time to learn it! id evem say better them dark souls seris lol Gald my smol guide helped! i had to much more to tech but life pc issues and stuff racked up!

Glad it helped! GL on your playthrough!
Thank you so much, this is Day 1 for me. Completely lost until I got here haha
getting close to talking myself into playing this game and remebering its quirks
Game is pretty confusing. Finally starting to actually understand it lol. The game is great thanks to people like you!
Fire works well against wolves...that's all I've learned
If anything I feel way more overwhelmed
GL!
This was done 5 years ago and I’m only just hearing about this game!
lol, the game released back in 2012 but its one of those super hard no in game tutorial type games so it's kinda a hidden gem!
I think I can refine my strategy with your calculator
So glad it helped! Ya can't wait for DD2 to come out, but sadly my PC can't run any of the new games out :( So ill have to wait till i can upgrade my PC. :) If you're playng on PC head over to Nexusmods - www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma/mods/40 This was a huge life saver when testing new builds and allowing myself to have more then 1 save / character setup. GL on your playthrough and with DD2! :D
Just picked this game up and am really lookin forward to picking it apart. Thank you for all the info and explaining cuz I def wouldn’t be able to figure this stuff out on my own
Best class in my opinion is magic Archer
Seriously best video for dragons Dogma on YT
I like your informative video, this actually helped me understand more. You we're right about newbies getting confused at the start. Thanks for the information. Keep it up! :D
I'm currently at level 46 and while I've heard that stats per level differs depending on vocations, I didn't realize it was to this extent. I always just thought "oh mages just increase magick attacks or something". I didn't realize it also affected health, stamina and defenses
Very helpful for me, as a new player
I’ve been playing Dragon’s Dogma for years and didn’t even realize that the character’s sizes determine certain things like carrying capacity and stuff like that. I always wondered why some of my pawns had such a huge bar of “very light” weight.
Just started this game and with Witcher 3 being my favorite game ever, I'm loving this
My PC CPU fan stopped working. So while I wait I will play this game that I only started. Thanks for the tips! Like commented and subscribed 👍
Good explanation (not always) but i like your in depth explanation on Vocations etc.
This guide helped me a lot since I at least began to die alot less after I watched this guide lol thanks uploading it my guy

I'm not a newbie with this game. Had it on the PS3 and now the PS4 version but I never really understood any of this because I never really cared about it. I just enjoyed completely ranking all of the Vocations in the game to max. Never understood how the stat system worked.
I'm a new player (I know I'm late) but I feel like this will really help me out in the long run. :) thanks
Hey there what did u choose? Im also new and overwhelmed
Great, great video. I'm a beginnner and this plus your Stat Planner site is great! Thanks!
helped a lot.
Take the time to write up an eassy on these topics in dry format without the lingo involved to understand it yourself friend.
btrw. I wear metal thong when i beat deaom lvl 2 on BBI at lvl 56.. buck up nerd its just a easy game.
I went with mystic archer, tho thats best all around and can take out enemies from a distance and don't have to try on aiming with the bow so much just make sure have socceror or good mage with spells that suit you
Best explanation I've seen yet. Thankyou. But I still don't know what the hell "min-max" means.

Lots of valuable info here! Thanks so much for this! So helpful!
Thx. Just bought DD on Steam.
SO the best to do is go mage. then go mystic archer to 100 then mystick knight max level then play the class you like?
A small thing I do when playing Dragons Dogma is give my pawn a lantern, the extra light can come in handy in some places.
For new players I hope you dont take stat planning seriously when you first start out, becuase you spend more time worried about stats than you do playing the game
BUT..
if you want a balanced build for physical strider 1-10, ranger 10-200
if you want a balanced build for magic strider 1-10 ramger 10-100, sorcerer 100-200
Very helpful, great guide.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching! Glad it helped you out! Hope to find time to make more guides like this, lifes just been kind of a pain latelty. :) Happy Turkey day!

You know what, screw it…

😂
"and uses a bigger staff... (giggles)" hahaha
Hes got the boggest staff of them all
this helped sooo much, i was completely confused when i first started the game
Vodka shot every "screw it"
All i gotta is... Screw it:) great video!
Short video of 23mins: nice
Great guide

Tips for beginners, just get a super mage and sorcerer pawns,
Thank you for the informative video! :D
So to gain the highest attack I should be a fighter from level 1-10 but then should I be a warrior or an assassin from 11-100?
Why am I watching this ? I played this too much and I still play sometimes, I even created an extra save slot to create tiny character just to fit to those tiny spaces you can't normally go to.
I just met olra but i didnt find another vocation like assasin, magic archer, ther is only 3 basic class there
You have to be level 10 minimum to see them and have the 1500 Disicipline to buy them.
Vocations to consider:
warrior for HP and physical def growth (40hp, 3 physical defence, 1 magick def and 2 magick attack per lvl up to 100)
Mystic Knight: For HP and magick def/atk growth (30 HP and 3 phys aswell as magick def and magick atk)
And ofc sorcerer (16 HP, 1 phys def and 5 in both magick def and atk)
Keep in mind that the stat growth changes drasticly after lvl 100. Also don't forget that you should rank other vocations (you don't need to lvl up to rank vocations) for their needed augments (which can be equiped across vocations).
How do you switch between your weapons in combat?
I assigned skills to my attack hotbar thing but it just keeps saying light and heavy and it won't show my skiil name
@@ShyRaiGaming Thank you so much! I really want to enjoy this game but I always get worried if I’m playing it wrong and end up getting stuck.
So to save 23 minutes: Vocation=class mage classes= lean toward magic, warrior classes =more strength, thief= balanced, advanced tiers= follow the same basic guideline.... ahh screw it! That seemed obvious lol

:) hope that helps sorry it took me a while to get back to you I had pneumonia! so its a bit like multiclassing in D&D in the stats staking, I want from Strider, to MA then MK then Assassin , my pawn is pretty much stayed fighter but played a little as a warrior but I like her belter was a fighter, still trying to figure out how to effectively kill Death and Damion's 2nd form
I know I’m late to the party, but I wanted to know can you Maxalt one location, and go to another in Mex that out as well
i just switched from Fighter to Sorcerer, but i can't even equip a wooden staff, how do i level it up if i can't even fight?
How do you switch between weapon sets? I don't remember how... It's been a while since I played this game.
Assassin is best melee class with highest strength growth
For the character build up, the mage would still need stamina as mana for spellcasting, right?
If I want to do strider and then which to sorcerer would that be totally dumb or still fine?
nice ty :)
Can you stay at a tier 2 vocation? For example, a Sorcerer as a pure magic user? Or you must choose one of the hybrids at tier 3?
The only reason to pick something else is if you want for example more stamina or health/defenses. Since Sorc will give you alot of M.Attack and M.defense. But if you feel you run out of stamina too quickly it might be a good idéa to put some levels into another vocation.
@@MeldinX2 or Stack a Lot of stamina heals,
@@voutideixarumoco6318 as u are the latest comment can u give me tips ago some clothes which should I use I am using a strider and I am a beginner and also how to craft things 🙏
I understood everything except the leveling.
MindGame Labs Thanks for that.
Assassin in hard mode? Good idea?
Ty bro
So one thing I'm still not sure about: once we get to level 10 (I believe), we can't go higher ?
Rank 10 is Max for a vocation. Actual level is like 200 max. The vocation you are using when you level determines your stat increase. Fighter would influence physical defence and strength, mage is magick defence and attack for example. You can rank your mage and if you watch your xp you could change vocation to a fighter then get the level and change back to mage if you don't want the mages stat boost but instead want some tankyness. It can get pretty crazy trying to control how your character and pawn level up
can i play solo with only main pawn? i think it gets too messy having all pawns just aggroing everything and runnin all over the place
Not recommended. You need all the help you can get early game, unless you're a veteran player on hard mode soloing bbi.
I just delivered a hydras head…. Am I gonna get a horse???? Or is it leg day every day in this game?
@@ShyRaiGaming ahhhhhh 😭 if only they had a passive that boost stats for all this walking! Thank you!
@@ShyRaiGaming ……. So what you’re saying is I should stop doing all these side quest and progress the game? Also…. Phantoms….. how do I murder them? I’ve tried a bow I’m an assassin I think level 33 I have 3 mage pawns who keep saying only mage works but they don’t seem to kill them either
@@ShyRaiGaming yes it’s my first time playing the game… I was saying progress the story until I get the stuff that lets me walk fast? Okay more power to yah on those type of runs lol and thank you for the responses..
Level 138 and restarting.
My question is if i can just play Fighter all the way till lvl 200 without taking another vocation? ^^
@@ShyRaiGaming Thanks! Tell me also pls is 200 lvl fighter stronger than 10 lvl fighter + 190 lvl warrior or 100 lvl fighter + 100 lvl warrior in terms of hp or stamina or str etc.? I basically ask if ther would be better option than pure fighter or warrior etc. I love shield and sword characters and dont want to use magic... Also can i use 2hand sword having fighter or i have to choose warrior?
@@ShyRaiGaming For some reason i cant use the calculator... Something with my browser i think.. Yeah i already found a sword that burns with fire and i have another character that is a mage so im covered on this i think... Thx for help! ^^
