Congratulations on getting that done, and the relief that comes with TB testing. I really like how you and Nick are working very well together, and the thinking process that both of you take before undergoing something like moving cows or bulls. Nick is becoming quite the cowboy. 😊
Great to see that Lambing is complete & the TB Testing is pleasing news & that the Highlands walking down the lane loving the Cow Parsley have been made comfortable with human interaction & Frances the Bull doing his bit for the soon to be Calf population !!! Your imaging is excellent could be Oil Paintings Best Wishes Joanna & Nick David xx
Highland cows are amazing!!! A sunny day at Dale Farm in spring is very cool... They are beautiful lands! As always, congratulations on the video Joanna!!👌🏼💚💚
Hi Glad that you are spending more time with the highlands. I looked after a highland herd which I got to be quite tame. I used a battery clipper to shave along their spines in spring , in the field and they stood very content and happy to be clipped. also applied medication at the same time . I found it really rewarding. good luck!
Hi Joanna about time you had some good news, what a relief a clear test just wish the weather would pick up for you. Take care both of you and stay safe 👍 😊.
Always great to have a happy day with good results for the Highlands. Lovely that you brush them they do look really smart. We love the little Lane with the Cow Paesley. Field full of Buttercup so beautiful. Thankyou for a lovely video both of you. 😊😊
might be worth retesting the barren cow in 2 months time ......as it is still running with the bull .....they often do not show up on the scan if they are under 30 days in calf ....... good result with the test , always a relief to get a clear test ......
@@DaleFarm off to the sales with her then ..........just declare her as ......been running with a bull till today but scanned empty lately .....u can give the date of the scanning if u wish .......then you have covered all the bases and covered your ass as well .........or as we say over here ...........sell her as she stands before you .....! a good get out clause that is often used ....
i was literally crossing my fingers waiting for the results! I have seen how devastating a positive result could be. How are the lambs doing? Hopefully getting them away from the lead (right?) has answered all your questions. On balance i still say you had a stellar lambing season considering the weather you had to endure.
Yes getting them off the field I was suspecting was an issue has stopped any more problems , the lambs are okay I will do an update. Relieved about the cattle yes ❤️❤️ thank you for watching and for caring about us xx
Nice to hear you’ve got the all clear😊 and you’ve more to come in a few months 😁. Definitely agree with handling stock to get them used to you… just not sure the vet helps sticking his hand up there bum😆🤦♂🤪
Some good news there and the weather easing off. I am sure you two could just do with a nice fortnight holiday Joanna, but chance would be a fine thing. At least get yourselves a little chill time if possible.
Thank you, we hope to get a few days at the end of June 😀 it’s definitely needed. This week it’s bank holiday / half term madness on the campsite !! Never much time for a rest here !
Thank you so much xxx white thorn is a good name, we also have a pink hawthorn which I love but not any of it on the farm. When the white blossom falls off the trees it’s like snow
It's interesting here in the US tb testing is every 5 years and the vet I worked for would test on the side of the tail head. We also only tested dairy cattle.
Hey what’s the go with the young heifers, they all look about the same age but some have horns and some don’t. Have been bred like that with poll genetics. Thanks for the video
Lambing finished, TB all clear, fields looking good, HAPPY DAYS. Best wishes from EA.
Thank you Colin x
Great news on TB all clear, always stressful on waiting to see how it goes. Cows look real well despite the wet winter, you’re both doing a good job
Thank you, definitely not been an easier winter x

Great when you have positive momentum. It must lift your spirits and make everything on the farm seem a bit more worthwhile.

Thank you George , the cow has had ages to get in calf so i don’t know why she hasn’t / has not held. The vet said she was cycling normally

There are no more which is good, waiting on test results from the laboratory
Great news about the cattle. What was the answer on the trouble with the lame lambs?
Thank you, we haven’t had the test results from the laboratory yet x

Another picturesque vlog, are the hawthorn what we call white thorn.the Highlands look in very nice condition.
Thank you so much xxx white thorn is a good name, we also have a pink hawthorn which I love but not any of it on the farm. When the white blossom falls off the trees it’s like snow
Some wonderful red Hawthorn in the villages around where you are Joanne
Yes there’s some around, just not on sale farm
It's interesting here in the US tb testing is every 5 years and the vet I worked for would test on the side of the tail head. We also only tested dairy cattle.
That is definitely interesting and definitely to how we have to do things here
How get on with the lambs stiffness doing great job 👍
I’ll do an update , they are a lot better
Just scald problems x
Hi Jo and Nick, great news all clear for TB... The black bull is a ripper... renting or did you buy him ?
Hey what’s the go with the young heifers, they all look about the same age but some have horns and some don’t. Have been bred like that with poll genetics. Thanks for the video
Good to hear you're all clear now we can have steak and kidney pie 👌😁🐝😉

Good to get a good clear test , did you find out what was wrong with them lambs that died , I love highland cows , there is a lot more in Cumbria now
We haven’t had the laboratory results yet , should be this week x
Thank you xx
What was the result of the lamb problem in last video?
I will do an update when I have some information , waiting on laboratory test results at the moment. The lambs are going okay. No more gone down x
@@DaleFarm thank you
Is that another cost for the farmer..? Annual TB testing
No it’s not the responsibility of the farmer , the government pays for the testing ( so the tax payer ) pays for it !
have you ever had tb in the highlands ?? hugssss
👀🙄🐾👍
Joanna, what part of the question did u not understand?
RUDE!! If you read her replies to people, you would know the answer to your question!
I don’t know what you mean Brian
