- BTT SKR MINI E3 V2.0 and BTT TFT35 E3 V3.0 was designed by BIGTREETECH. We are committed to easy printing, easy life.
BTT SKR MINI E3 V2.0
1.The TMC2209 driver use same physical UART port, which save IO and increase the stability of motor drivers.
2.We increase an double Z-axis interface on the motherboard which can work on printer with single or double Z-axis.
3.We set a EEPROM( AT24C32) on the board , so data storage is more stable.
4.Printed circuit boards of SKR MINI E3 V2.0 have 4 layers, which prolong the life of this board.
5.Power chip is MP1584EN and increase the current output which can reach to 2.5A.
6.We add protective device to interface of thermistor.
7.We also set two numerical control fan and a interface (PS-ON) for automatic shutdown after printing.
8.SKR MINI E3 V2.0 also supports BL touch, filament run-out sensor, power-off resumed printing, and automatic shutdown after printing.
BTT TFT35 E3 V3.0
1.ARM Cortex-M3 series STM32F207VCT6 chip with 32-bit CPU 120MHz;
2.Upgrade the firmware by SD card. It is easy and convenient to operate.
3.This display board has higher compatibility. Users can select two work modes: UART serial port screen mode and 12864 screen mode.
4.Serial port screen mode supports two printing modes: SD card and U disk.
5.Reserve WIFI port, and WIFI function is realized by external WIFI module；
6.Reserve the extension port of filament breaking detection (FIL-DET)；
7.Reserve the extension port of automatic shutdown after printing (PS-ON);；

Good idea. I paid extra to get mine Thursday and BL Touch is not working. By the time you get it they will probably have a working firmware for BLT.

To be honest, I think this is THE best chinese instruction I ever got!
Oh and just one thing: next time please charge a few cents more and make the display cable a bit longer. It's a pretty tight fit.

I've had both for a while now. At first I had some issues but some research on TH-cam and Google helped me in the end, also I didn't have to compile anything
ender 5 plus, with this setup--"no printer attached" message. checked baud rate and made sure it was correct, even tried all the other rates just to see if one would work--still "no printer attached".
Installing mine today!

At 8:34, it mentions the black wire is connected to TFT interface. The black wire has a plug with 4 wires together and one by itself. Does this end connect to the TFT board or does this end go to the LCD display? Also, with the single black wire, does it attach to the front of the printer (closest to the USB and Micro USB drive) or does it go on the opposite, farthest end from the drives?

Yes, you need to plug the wire that is alone. The best way to describe the right position of it is to place the wire in the opposite direction from the SD card slot (The four wires that come together are more close to the SD card position and the isolated wire goes in the remain slot).

did you have to install any firmware or was it as straight forward as tech showed?
I just got the SKR mini E3 1.2 and the TFT 35 E3 , Install went great and thank goodness the TFT35 has SD and usb card reader because the main board Micro sd card reader does not work I'm not sure How I will update the Marlin firmware when the BL touch arrives. Is there a jumper or something I can check to see why the micro sd card reader is not working? I have tried 2 micro sd cards and they both work on my computer but neither work on the main board, Thanks for any help..

Have you all made a board for the Monoprice / Wanhao Duplicator 6? That board craps out on this otherwise nice printer I saw there is a marlin 2.0 for these printers just need a quality board in it, I have SKR in my Endr 3pro and love it!
Is the V2 compatible with BL V3.1 also using Octoprint out of the box without any FW upgrade?
Great Video. Very useful. I installed my skr mini e3 v2.0 and tft35 e3 v3.0 on my ender 3 pro without any problem. I miss a bltouch section. Please make a video with instructions to have the bltouch 3.1 working on these boards.

after I switched to new motherboard BIGTREETECH® SKR MINI E3 V2.0 on ender 3 pro, the printer moves to the end at X axis, end the table has also moves out after each layer change, I thought maybe there was a bug in the system.
i also have issues with my btt skr1.4 turbo board - it does not boot and BIGtreetech is not really helping me - i keep sending them info on my board but they dont want to replace the board - i have been struggling now for over 4 weeks with this board, nothing works
10/10 - I'm using it with ender 5. This board is great: silent motors, easy install and amazing documentation on github. Support for BLTouch probe on this board improved the printing experience a lot.
I have just trying to install boards and followed your video, all worked well but had one big problem it will no read the sad card. Tried many sad cards that were working on the original board all had the same error. When I insert the sd card the screen displays card inserted. I am assuming that this is a faulty board. Any help is welcome
I upgraded my Ender 3 to this exact combination of SKR Mini E3 V2 + TFT 3.5 V3.0. With the stock SKR firmware the display works in both Marlin and touch modes. If I download any version of Marlin, including the BTT-created version, I cannot use the touch feature of the TFT - no printer connected.
I've been looking literally for weeks for guidance on configuring the Marlin source code so the TFT works in both modes. No luck! I can only get it working in touch mode with the binary included with the board, which does not support my filament runout sensor or BLTouch!
Please, please, please tell me how to configure Marlin for the TFT 3.5 V3 so I can configure my runout sensor and BLTouch.

I just installed the TFT35 v3 on my ender 3 and can confirm the USB and SD card reader can be printed from and is hot swappable without the need to refresh etc.
do you apply hot glue like the stock motherboard? is it safer to apply hot glue? or does it matter?
there is no need, the glue is there to hold the connections for shipping.
i installed both the skr mini E3 v2.0 and the tft 3.5 E3 v3.0 today and all i get on the screen is 2 lines across from left side to right and in backgroung is the marlin and touch icons. nothing works. and the sm chip on the touch screen gets really hot
Request for you at BTT. Include a cable of the length in the video. The cables bundles with the V3.0 is way too short. Don't know what that's all about.
I used my stock cable and it works fine.
i mistakenly bought the skr 1.4 turbo and can not get it to work with my ender 3 pro with the tft35e3 do you have a bin file i can download so i dont have to compile anything

What do I do with the 5 red jumpers in the bag. Because on your website they are already installed. Do I need to install them or not ?
Good question, been looking for that answer myself but there is a horrendous lack of information available on this board even on their official website.
The jumpers are only used for sensor-less homing.
Is there any short circuit protection?
Im using this without a screen but im not able to print via usb like i was able to before. Is there a certain reason for that?

the red jumper on the board for power, The factory setting is 5V. If you use the E3 DCDC5V V1.0 module, you need to change the jumper to the other end.

When connecting the Z motor cable, there is a ZAM and a ZBM on the motherboard... which one do I use and which one is left empty?
use ZAM. ZBM would be used if you installed a second Z-motor and lead screw.

It’s a shame that when in touch screen mode and goes to print strange things happen eg shoots off to the far right corner and then fires out a load of filament at high speed. Using the stock board and stock touchscreen firmware. When in Marlin mode no problems at all.
Vs code needs to be updated to accommodate the version 2 board, also when you build your own firmware it fails on around 5 things that need updating in marlin I guess. (Including board unrecognised) anyone found a work around yet? Bigtreetech own complied firmware on github also fails. I think these products are fantastic, I have v1.2 at the moment and V2 on the way. I need to compile my own firmware for auto bed levelling filament detection etc.

Yes there is a second cable for the LCD touchscreen seeded its black and replaces the rainbow cable
@@harrymorris9345 Yep, the black 5-pin cable(?). I can print from Marlin mode when both cables are connected. Only touch UI "works" when black cable is connected, still in both scenarios I get "no printer attached". Baudrate thing is same in firmware and settings. Don't know what to do next
If you purchased your SKR mini as a package with the TFT display I would avoid upgrading the firmware. I installed the board and display and all seemed fine until I tried to print from the SD card, immediately got an error trying to read the file. I though hey lets update the firmware, now I have the lastest firmware but the TFT no longer communicates with the board "No Printer Connected". I only bought this as a package to simplify the upgrade and it didn't even work properly out of the box, firmware updates only made the problem worse. Unless you have some compelling reason to go 32bit I'd avoid the aggravation this update creates :(

Also the touch screen mode isn't able to access the onboard sd card and it will hang when selected. But in the old marlin screen it works. Any solution to this? Thanks!

WHY you don't have a guide where you can replace on Ender 3 all of it. Motherboard, TFT35 screen, smart filament sensor and BLtouch??? OR make a firmware.bin file or configuration.h for marlin. And all combination of it.
Hello, is Skr mini E3 V.2 compatible with Antclabs BL touch?
Not at this time. The firmware is on github but it does not seem to work for anyone. I just fails to probe the bed.
Yes mine was with vers.3.1 but I would think that you have to make sure it is a genuine BLTouch. My only problem was that after installing the firmware from BigTreeTech Git site I expected to see the BLTouch on the main menu, it is hidden away in the Configuration menu. Once I found it and pre levelled with a piece of paper , set the offset and works great. Tested on a benchy with no problems at all even the letters on the bottom are far better than before. I am now waiting for the touchscreen to arrive as it was dispatched 4 days after the board for some reason.

The fact that we can flash firmwares tor updates through simple SD card is very practical for me as I am not a programmer. Thanks BTT to make flashing process accessible to novice users!
In addition to that I very happy to have now Skr mini E3 V.2 installed on ender 3 pro with Marlin 2.
Zoé Ketchoz , I ordered the board BTT SKR MINI from BigTreeTech and it arrived after 12 days to the U.K. I ordered the touchscreen a few hours later and that has not arrived yet possibly due to a different supplier than the board. Creality have a lot to learn as their firmware site is pretty much useless and the fact that they sell the silent board but no firmware for it as supplied. I downloaded the BLTOUCH firmware from their site and it refused to even show up anywhere. Creality tech help is non existent therefore with the BTT board and their excellent firmware site my Ender 3 is good for the mechanics but useless with 8bit boards etc. BTT seems the only way to go. PS you will need to switch the poss and neg lead over on the connector before connecting to the board, only takes a couple of minutes.
Keith Zimmerman , have you changed over the leads on the VCC connector. Leave the signal where it is but change the other 2 over.

you can use the oringinal screen of ender 3, but it only has marlin mode.

For some reason my TFT connector is split so one pin is separate, and you don't provide instructions on which orientation the TFT connects to on the motherboard...
I'm currently dealing with that.
On an SKR Mini E3 V2.0 board, the split single reset connector goes on the TFT pin closest to the power supply inputs. (Eg. If you look at the board so the labels, such as “TFT”, “PWR-DET”, “E0-STOP” are right side up… the single connector goes to the first TFT pin on the left).

It’s not that hard, go to the Githib page. Go to SKR E3 V2.0. Navigate to the firmware and download the one that you want weather it be the ender 5 or ender 5 with BL touch etc..... Once you download the firmware you want Name it firmware.bin and put it on your SD. Then take the SD put it in your board and ta da your done. Also, it says this in the instructions PDF for the board so if you need any more help look there. It’s also on the github.

I can’t get it to work
I’m literally about ready to chuck the board into the road and run it over along with the screen , I got it just today and I had everything plugged in from stock to this and it lights up red on the skr board and red on the TFT screen loads “marlin” and “touch screen” I try clicking and using the knob nothing doesn’t respond.
Installed, and runaway bed heating problems. Jump through hoops, get visual studio, bla bla bla. You know what, shove your board.

Lose the silly background music and increase the volume of the narration. The reviews of bigtreetech boards does not instill confidence regarding quality control and durability. If the results were on par with the ads and descriptions, this could be a real winner.

This is a joke right? BTT firmware doesnt work and has rendered my printer unusable until i learn how to compile my own firmware. stay away from this unless you plan on spending all your printing time trying to fix stuff
Dont know if your still having issues but worked fine for me, just need to do your research. I did not have to compile anything. Was able to get all files from the github. Some searching on TH-cam and Google helped
