Same here. Uplifting and motivating and makes me want to plant plant plant! Start each day with my cup of coffee, sitting outside on my back porch, and watching Laura do her thing on Garden Answer (& learning a lot as I do).
I really love that you see beauty in all the shapes and textures of various evergreens. I have always been pretty narrow in what I like, which is typically Christmas tree shapes. You have opened up my mind to appreciating lots of other types of evergreens. Thank you!
Beautiful work you and Aaron are doing to your property! Adding new trees always adds a new dimension to your landscape. Plus the birds and animals have homes to hide in during the winter.
What a Monday treat! So peaceful. You really make my week. That South Garden has evolved so much in such a short time. Whenever you have a chance you should put a before and after pictures or videos . I am sure we will all be amazed by the change. Thanks guys! (The music was really good).
So, so amazing to see what you guys have accomplished. I'm always impressed when Laura gets that shovel out and jumps on it with both feet like riding a Pogo stick, LOL. Most people would be tumbling on the ground if they tried that :) Keep on keeping on. Love what you do as a family.
How spectacular Laura going to turn the place into a little forest, and the more Laura plant evergreens, the more we would have a spectacular winter wonderland. I'm so excited for snowy winter.
The transformation of this area is nothing short of remarkable. I’m so glad you mentioned Cheddar, I’ve been wondering if he was ok. Your videos are part of my morning routine. I get my one cup of coffee for the day & claim my favorite seat on the deck or our living room & settle in to watch your video. My husband calls you my garden girl, he wouldn’t know you by sight but definitely knows your voice.😉
Good morning, Laura ☕️Is it me or, does your soil look like it’s getting so much better?! When you were digging, I noticed it’s not so “white” the deeper you dug. Yay!👏🏻👏🏻 Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
I noticed it too. The compost mulch has contributed hugely to improving the soil structure. Must be immensely satisfying when preparing to transplant. The biotone is also probably working its magic creating a beneficial symbiotic relationship as the gardens’ roots establish. I wonder if Laura is noticing a build up of mycelia when prepping for transplant… it really is a joy to witness their property’s transformation.
One of the many things I enjoy about this channel is your appreciation of each plant’s uniqueness and where they will best fit in the scenery. Thanks for taking us along and many thanks to Ken and Aaron for editing each video and making our viewing experiential.
What a great video to watch today Laura planting beautiful evergreens. And boy were they beautiful. Your garden filling up just nicely now and a beautiful show to you are such a inspiring lady for us to watch.
Wow, to think that at the end there on this vid that the background was once, not so long ago, completely flat and empty, it is phenomenal what you have managed to create. It is looking absolutely fantastic, a masterpiece shot there.
You with that beautiful background of lovely plants at the end of the video just makes me smile . It's too hot and humid in southern Alabama for me to be outside but I still enjoy watching you plant your amazing garden !
Nothing like an evergreen tree or shrub to ground a garden. Even here in New England where I am surrounded by white pines, etc., still love a good evergreen in a garden! Love watching your little fur babies making a cameo, Russell is so sweet❤😊
Love the evergreens! It’s great that breeders can come up with smaller growing evergreens. I have a small yard and I’ve always wanted evergreens. Now I think I can choose one from the options you showed. Thanks.
I love your videos and the way your cats are always all up in the mix... Can't wait to be a winner on one of your money "gift cards" because I been wanting to buy some plants for my parent's home.
I'm so happy to hear someone else say that about daylilies! The foliage is at its worst when the blooms are at their best and you've given me the nudge to rip mine out. LOL
We removed ours just last week. I felt terrible because they were healthy, but just too messy for our garden. We'll plant something that stays pretty all season in it's place, then I will feel better about removing them.
@@charleneh8374 when they finish blooming. I remove the spent blooms regularly and when a plant has stopped blooming I cut it back. They put out new growth after flowering anyway so this is the best time to “refresh” them.
This part of your garden is really coming along! I'm with you regarding the daylillies but the blooms are so pretty. Love all the selections in this space! ❤
Laura, all the new evergreens are so unique, and you placed them in the perfect locations to give you the winter beauty evergreens provide year after year.🌲🌳🌲🌳🌲
I love the low junipers ! I carved mine into alligator shapes to approach my dry river bed garden to create the visual pun of “alligators in the moat “.🐊🌊🐊
Love all the evergreens. Your beds are really filling in beautifully. High humidity is tough. I hope you don't have to deal with it very long.. Have a blessed day everyone.
Thank you. I don't care for day lilies either. Everyone around here plants them and when I say I don't, they freak out. Now I'll say Laura doesn't love them either! 😊 lol
Look at all those Pink Senoritas! Love them! Thank you for including evergreens that remain small and are soft. Love things that are easy to take care of and don't scratch when you have to work around them.
Anout your lilies! Around here when they start looking ratty we cut them back to about 2 inches. The push new foliage and look great! If they’re rebloomers they sometimes push new blooms. We live in the same zone as you.
All of the views of your garden are beautiful & know how hard you work to keep all thriving well. You are so knowledgeable and consider you to be on the level of a horticulturist. I have learned so much just from watching your videos. By the way, love your walkways through the garden. Looks like flagstone as my husband & I did our front pathway leading to our porch with the beautiful stone. Have a great day Laura & happy gardening!🌻
Laura you have such a good eye for knowing where to " tuck" your plants into your gardens !!! Everything looks so beautiful. I feel the same way about daylillies, thinking about pulling a couple of mine.
I often think the same about my lillies, but they are so beautiful and provide such an enjoyable site that I continue to leave them..for years, and they continue to bring me joy. Give your lillies a chance, let them make you happy.
It will be glorious this winter. Looking forward to seeing the winter landscape. I agree about Daylilies, after beautiful blooming and accenting another plant, I had to dig up and hide until I need it next year. But easy for me, as it was only 1 😀
I must say your joy and delight when talking about junipers made me smile. It’s not one of my favorites so when I hear you call it gorgeous, I have to pause and give it another look.
Being from western Canada I’m definitely partial to evergreens but my eyes went to all of your butterfly bushes. I’m going to review the various videos you have. It’s time to plant more of those. Everything in the south garden is looking glorious….so much colour and contrast!
Laura and Aaron, I can't express how much I admire everything that you've done with a virtually blank slate. Sharing with us is very appreciated. You said recently that you were looking for ideas for th middle of the middle of the cut flower garden. What do you think about a flagstone medallion or mosaic of the Garden Answer logo with a large birdbath in the middle so it doesn't obstruct the view? Maybe something like the tall, slender planter at the side of your house with the white plants in it? Thank you for inspiring me every day!
Everything looks so beautiful Laura. It’s so nice to see your vision come to life.. can’t wait to see the seasonal decorations for this year. Have an amazing day.
Absolutely gorgeous! Love how you explained what would remain in the garden space as your winter interest. It made me think more about that for my own garden space and that I need to think about that more. Love your videos, your beautiful space, and the continued inspiration to make our own garden space as beautiful and enjoyed. Thank you!
Love the evergreens you planted. I am STRUGGLING with my Day Lilies. I love when they start to bloom and as soon as they start turning brown I don’t like the look. I try cleaning the brown stems out but it’s a lot of work, I am close to digging them all out and putting something else in their place!
Come along way Laura yall fillin it up with beautiful plants and the area with ur sidewalks looks so nice you keepin busy i see ya putin some plants for hoildays gona smell nice you got a gud green trumb Enjoyed ur video be safe Peace n Blessins
Good Morning! 🌲 I am always on the lookout for small Evergreens!! A new space is opening up for me!! I love all those evergreens!! The South Garden is gorgeous! 🥰😃🌲💚🌿
Love the conifers. You are so lucky to have a source for such high quality and unique stock. You could use many more for that year round interest. Would love to see several more of the grey blue low growing juniper you pointed out in other places. Wouldn't one be stunning near your new pond. I have used conifers in the past but sadly the little garden space i have now is not suitable 🥲. Sorry you are having a North Carolina morning...reasonable temperature but horrible humidity. Keep planting! Susan
You’re definitely not doing it wrong with the lilies, lol! I’m in Maine and my lilies look the same this time of year. Once they’re done blooming they get pretty rough looking, and it seems to happen fast. I like to remove the flower stems once they’re done blooming so they won’t go to seed, making for a more prolific bloom the following year, and once those leaves turn yellow and flop, cut them just above the ground. It’s one of those things to plant inside other things so when the foliage dies back you don’t see it. Everything looks absolutely gorgeous! Love all the different colors and textures!
Wooh,,, oh my, your garden’s are beautiful! Will we be getting a August tour? Love all the cute little evergreens and I now have a whole new appreciation for them and look at them in a whole new light. Congratulations on 1.8 M subscribers Do you all ever do giveaways when you reach such a awesome milestone???
wow, your humidity is perfect..we have been having terrible 84 temp with 96 % humidity and absolutely NO wind!! Just opening the front door feels like walking into a steam room. My glasses fog instantly in it, car windows, house windows. we couldn’t see through any of them for days in a row. So grateful last week is behind us and getting more comfortable for a while anyway. The worst part is now have to water all trees from no rain. Ugh! It’s been quite a year for ❤ ..So glad you guys have a pond to get wet in now! Your oasis in the desert is very nice.

These new evergreens are really cool! You were talking about adding a few berms now that you are liking them more because of the berms that were created in the amazing pond area! It is so beautiful without but do you think adding some berms (and rocks?)in this area might add some additional winter interest?

Yes I agree, the before and after photos are amazing!
After seeing all the evergreens and how much they add to the landscape; I'm starting to have a greater appreciation for them!

Tidy Tim a cute name for a tree. Beautiful group of trees. Morning to Russell and Douglas it’s to early for cheddar to be working.

The colors you put together blend beautifully! It’s 6am here in northern Illinois and 91% humidity 😅 I’m very used to it, but I envy your dry heat!
Northern Il here too…wouldnt it be nice to have 20 or 30% humidity?
