Your property is so beautiful , but the new addition of the pond area with the bolders and plantings has elevated your property to a whole new level of "fabulocity"!
"It's like you've been married to me for 16 years" just cracked me up. My husband and I used to disagree so often about design ideas (he's an architect, I'm an artist). Now after 30 years, we don't just usually agree, we often come up with the same ideas.
Love where you placed the two junipers flanking the path. It's amazing what all you've done in just a couple years.
Crazy little tip I always used when rough measuring my plantings was to just used my shovel handle as a measuring stick. That will generally get you close enough so your eye does not detect a difference. Love the idea for an "entrance" to that section of the garden!
😂 I thought I was the only one who did that 😁
What a great tip! I may need to put some paint marks on my shovel handles now. Hahaha
I use a long handled shovel that I marked off with black and green marker in 4 & 6 inch increments. Makes planting a piece of cake.
I do the same! 😊
Laura and Aaron are the "Bob Ross's" of the garden world! Haha
Laura is all 'hey let me show you my beautiful garden, and then we will pop a happy little tree in here, and there, and there..' lol I love it! You all are such an inspiration to just get out and do the dang thang!
LOOK at Aaron applying Biotone like a Boss!😊
Teamwork Makes The Dream Work! You two are Awesome!
I agree!
I just have to say that I love watching the two of you work together on projects! You are an inspiration with your teamwork, knowledge, designs and just that "let's do it" attitude! So refreshing and encouraging. Keep up the wonderful work on your stunning property on this channel sharing your lives in such a joy-filled manner. Thank you!!
Yes Aaron, take ownership of your trees! They are your babies and your hard work has paid off because they truly look lush and healthy.
Those junipers were MADE for that space! It’s incredible how much it transformed the garden. It almost looks like a gated entrance to a secret garden.
Good morning, Laura, from Windermere, Florida 9b 🇺🇸
We are preparing for hurricane Idalia. Watching you plant is a great distraction ❤
Happy Gardening Everyone 👩🌾 👍
❤Peggy❤
Praying you don't get hit too badly. We here on the southern east coast feel your pain. Take care.
@beachgal1835 thanks BeachGal, I hope you guys get a break. We used to live in Plantation (Ft. Lauderdale) 🙏
Good luck in Florida!❤
Wondering if there might be a hive up in that big tree and that why the bees were buzzing up there. I remember my cousin found a beehive in a very old well that our grandparents dug. She found the old well and all the bees in her garden were living in the well. Amazing. You find bees in some weird places.
I wondered that too!!
I was thinking the same thing. I had a huge old tree that was filled with hornets, it was mostly hollow..
My brother moved into our “family home” and he found a gigantic hive that had to of been there for many many years! Silver lining Laura just might of found her bee colony to start her honey bee house 😂
Look for a paper bag like structure. Usually on the east side of tree.
First thing I thought when Laura said she had never noticed that bee activity before.
I love when you and Aaron work together! So sweet.
OH I loved this video So Beautiful and I loved that Aaron was in the Video Love when he's in the Videos You two are so great together Winter is going to be Beautiful Thank you for the enjoyment you give us Love waking up to Garden Answer Everyday
Enjoyed seeing you feeding the fish! Everything is looking so good! So much progress being made in this enormous landscape! 💚💚💚
Aaron looks at those two matching junipers and sees only Christmas lights!!!🌲🌲🎄🎄
In Georgia we say "First year it sleeps, second year it creeps, third year it leaps!"
Everything's so great Laura, thanks for the show!
That was a phrase I learned decades ago. Used to be very common but I guess things go in and out of use and now the younger generations are learning it.
This is for confederate jasmine in the south 😎
Hi Laura. You mentioned the bee's in your tree. You may want to consult a bee keeper to see if they are creating a hive up there. This would be for your safety and the bee's safety. They could be relocated, and, bonus, if you or Aaron are interested, can become bee keeper's as well. Something to think about. Stay safe.
My absolute FAVORITE videos= You two working together! You are such a Beautiful couple! The Lil Cedar is my Fav.
It’s 82f In 🇬🇧 we’re loving it after a rainy August . Wish we had this weather all the time , but I’ve not seen snow for 6 years . I’m south coast England sea level coast .
I have a tiny garden and just bought 6 trees 🌲 I adore watching you ❤xxxx
Ps my David Austin roses love this heat .
What a beautiful day, Aaron coming to spend the time with you, seeing you both working together on planting projects. All those plants look amazing. Thank you
I love how well you both work together!❤
I taught my koi to eat out of our hands. A raccoon came to the pond and reached out his paw and caught a couple of our fish! Now I throw the food into the middle of the pond. Love your pond and know you will have years of enjoyment!
Just wow. Never would have thought of that! Thanks
I have two evergreens (Carolina sapphire cypress) flanking the top of my driveway…absolutely love them! They make such a statement! You are correct, the winter interest they provide is stunning.
Missed your usual “sign off,” but the koi fish did a great job! Lol! 🐟🐟🐟
Laura, I know you hear this all the time, but your place looks amazing. What you two have done is just beautiful. Aaron had the perfect eye for the junipers...he had a great teacher. ❤❤
Good morning everyone! More beauty in the landscape with Laura. Enjoy a wonderful day 🌲🌻🐝🦋💚
Everything is looking so beautiful❣️ Those stone pathways are to die for love them so much!
Amazing videos as usual Laura .. I love love your videos .. I look forward to it everyday- your videos are better than any Netflix series (I wonder if anyone has ever said this to you before ). Thank you so much . Keep it up ❤❤
Lol. Maybe a couple of times.
Laura, will you please buy another Juniper and form it into a topiary for us ??? We would love to see the steps and life of this take on that form!
That's beautiful, boy. Your fish are hungry this morning 🎣
Love watching the two of you working together !
Aaron and Laura you two are so cute. I look forward to your videos everyday ❤❤
I too like not working from a plan. I tell my husband the space will tell us what it needs/wants and we will do that. He is an all at once kind of project person, but I enjoy the slow evolution of a garden. Has always worked for me.
Have you guys considered planting a giant sequoia? They grow everywhere (zone 5 and up), unlike redwoods, that have special requirements.
Your wide open flat land would be perfect for a few - maybe out by the irrigation ditch on the new property, where you don't have any plans for development. It could make a great privacy screen :)
Oh I just LOVE how the juniper look flanking that path!!!! I have tremendously enjoyed watching your property become what it is and will enjoy watching it continue to grow and change!!!!!
From where I am sitting, they're perfect where they are!
Good morning! Lovely day to plant. Did you mean to end the video without saying goodbye?
I wondered that too.
I catch myself waving back…
So glad to see your husband in these videos, it's refreshing to see a couple work as a team! Us he's Awesome!
I'm running a day behind. Buts that's okay get to watch two videos this morning lol. Those trees are going to look amazing where you planted them. Love your ideas. Thank you Laura for sharing. Have a great rest of the day 👋🙂
I love the lavender by your raised garden bed.❤
Aaah your pond gives a peaceful & tranqui vibe. More planting there pls 🙏🏼
Beautiful👍😀 Your Pond Area looks so Restful and Wonderful Place for you All to have Family Time❤🙏🤗 Enjoy❤
Great planting. Love all the plants. Fantastic job guy’s. After 16 years Aron and Laura are one.😂😂😂. Thank you so very much for sharing this with us.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I love seeing the transformation of the south garden. The trees will brighten the winter landscape.
I'm so glad you haven't had problems with sea oats because I sure have! My sea oats want to sow their oats everywhere!! They are in the middle of my itea, loosestrife, and everwhere else. They are hard to get rid of when they are in the middle of another plant.I do cut them down before the "oats "dry. I'm in a zone 6,,also, but in the eastern US so maybe that is the problem. Easterners beware of sea oats!
I am so envious of your soil!! Mine is filled with so many rocks and large stones, its always time consuming with every shovel full. Aaron on board with planting today, NICE!! Your annuals are looking incredible.
I’m in Reno, NV where we have rocks everywhere. The second you stick a shovel in the ground, you hit a rock or boulder. Can’t use an auger here!
I’m also envious of Laura’s beautiful rock-free soil.
Right! I live in the Rocky Mountains and it's like ah!
I have pretty decent soil EXCEPT where my house builder needlessly scattered gravel. So annoying.
Your family is living the dream. I love watching your videos. I wasn't there for the beginning and I do go back and watch past videos. I've been watching every for at least 2 years. I started a little flower garden a couple of years ago and I found you looking and learning about plants and flowers. Been non stop ever since. I recently saw a short clip of Elon Musk talking about one day things will be cheaper and what would people do with their time if they didn't have to work as much and I commented, plant everywhere, help by making everywhere beautiful. Thank you for what you bring to the world. It makes my life feel better and normal with all the crazy going on around us. May your family always be blessed and your life always beautiful in Jesus name. ❤❤❤❤❤
Keep the sumac! You have so much space and it is such incredible presence in the garden.
I'm so glad you're taking a break from flanking pathways with pots. Looks great
Not sure which pathways you’re referring to.
I'm happy that you have Aaron to help you.
Love the placement of those junipers . Oh my gosh everything is so beautiful ! I am just amazed with every video at how much you guys have accomplished on such a large scale !!! Have a great everyone !!
KEN great music in this one! You did great with the editing! 🫶🏼
I love how Laura feels like a friend even though we've never met. When friends or family & I are talking gardens and I say "Laura said . . ." they know exactly who I'm talking about. We don't always agree (I love red and want to turn all my grass into a wildflower meadow) but I rely on Laura for ideas and expertise.
Same! I like brighter colors but I love how they lay out their plants.
I even refer to the weather you are having in conversations with my friends! I am not nuts!!
Good morning from Kentucky! Beautiful evergreens! Loving how your garden is maturing. Just looking gorgeous. Have a blessed day!❤
I am not much into trees, but I love the grasses you planted! I love seeing your gardens in full bloom, its sad that it will soon be over and covered in snow. How do you and Aaron decide who going to do what during the day?
Hi Laura and Aaron! I like the placement of the 2 junipers. Great idea Aaron! The other trees and grasses look good, too. Thank you so much for sharing!
Absolutely, thoroughly enjoy your channel, and love watching each video to see how
your gardens grow and change as you add and tweak each area. I have Northern Sea
Oats planted, as well. They do re-seed or spread a bit. I have more in different places I did not
originally plant. But they are not all over the yard. Fairly easy to pull up when small.
Thank you for sharing your garden with all of us.
I’m jealous you can plant all the different evergreens and not have to worry about deer. Beautiful! I had to pull out my sumac it was spreading everywhere.
The editing with this upload was lovely!
I am in absolute love with that one corner of the South Garden. As you say, "Oh my word!" 😍
She know so much about the trees... how i liked know this place and the manner to do this.
You two are adorable working together. I always joke with my husband of 41 years that we are practically twins now! Lol. Love all the winter interest, also-the grasses are perfect there!
Love trees on both side. Yes girl. Thanks hubby.😊
Aaron should put the drone up in that tree, to make sure there isn’t a wasp/hornet nest up there.
One of the recent short plant id videos, had 🐝 wasps all over one of the plants.
I do "Live and let live " with wasps and hornets. We get along fine
That would be fun!
@@YSLRD I would too, but not if it’s near the areas where the children are.
Enjoyed this video. Suggestion…you can easily transplant the sumac trees! Maybe consider placing them on the far side of your new property and let them spread. Love the cedar tree!!
Or transplant what they are crowding. Either way, it seems wasteful to not let the sumacs spread when you are looking to fill in such a vast area.
Good morning Laura and Aaron! So glad you plan to take after that sumac so the little norway spruce can survive. There is so much of it you will still have your fall color. Your garden is awesome! Hugs from N.C..❤
The 2 taller evergreens, planted in this video on each side of the pathway entrance, to me give the garden a whole diff feel.
Love the addition of these trees to the garden. Who am I kidding, I love everything about your property!
Loving the Winter Interest! I bet Aaron is already planning the Christmas lights. I wonder if you plant something in that stump, if it would help with the tannins. I love the color of the tannins, very natural. A lily or iris would probably multiply pretty fast in there. Have a nice day!
As your plantings mature, you may find a cherry picker will come in handy.
Good morning, Laura ☕️ The Winter ❄️ interest is going to be on point!✨🙌🏻 I was sure you were going to measure prior to planting those Junipers😜 The bick will finish off that edge beautifully 😍 Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
Laura you have mastered the mixed beds and borders! How often do you fertilize your raised beds?
Love the collaboration. Keep up the good work. Peace.
Morning Everyone 🍃🌸🍃
Everything is looking fabulous
Laura your gardens are absolutely gorgeous love them you do an amazing job planting all the trees n flowers
Wow.... everyday is a new day. It is really taking shape.
Thank you so much. Every video is a treasure. Love the pond, fish the aqua scape. Everything is so incredibly beautiful and I learn something new every morning❤
Love the teamwork. Really nice job of editing at minutes 6:42 to 6:52 where the music casually plays until we hear only the soft drum beat behind the sound of Aaron pouring Bio-tone. He finishes, and the music picks back up. Very well done! Looking forward to the sumac show this fall.
I love nature it's so amazing
You tow are so adorable!!! Love seeing your interactions so much! 🥰😀
Your work is amazing, you are so talented. Have you ever done a video on sloping plantings I have slopes in front of a pool fence that I struggle with. Keep the videos coming!
The junipers are perfect ❤
Love the new additions. I struggle with adding winter interest. This is a great refresher. I have to add, you know Paul is looking at the dirt around the trees and thinking “Dang it, I just made that mulch look pretty!” 😂
i wonder if you know how many trees and shrubs you've planted on this property in the 6/7 years you've lived there? .. the previous owners must be amazed at the transformation when they stop by... it's just so pretty (and of course you've added acreage)... the transformation of the south garden from an "alien planet" to its current beauty is just incredible... and because you are so knowledgeable, things thrive for you: i'd be watching things die and then trying something different 🤣🤣love that pond so much (and frogs now!!! oh boy!)... it must be such a feeling of joy and accomplishment to just stop and admire all y'all have done... and i know all of us appreciate being along for the ride!! happy tuesday!!! 🥰❤thanks for the video!! 🥰❤
Your property is so beautiful its going to look like winter wonderland when the snow comes, put up some Christmas lights its going to look magical.
I love the freedom of your garden but you HAVE created great structure with the trees lining the roads, the large row of containers, the arb structure, the boxwood structure, the circle structure with benches as you enter the flower garden and the cottage structure surrounded by fruit trees. This structure balances the free planting style everywhere else and the pond is the ultimate freedom. When the surrounding trees grow up around the pond you’ll have a little bit of magic in that corner. BTW, what’s the plan for the area next to the pond and beside the barn?
Laura, I am so glad you asked Aaron to help with those big trees. Just wonder if your back has been bothering you or you are heeding advice and being more careful with your body parts. Love the plantings today.
Love the placement of the those big trees at the opening of the pathway!!! Looks so good - great choice Aaron (and Laura) fun to see you guys working together once in awhile! Everything looks great where you planted it. Like how unstructured the South garden is. It is really looking good everywhere, love planting days!💕
Your Miss Violet Butterfly Bushes are so beautiful! Mine took a hard hit in thier first winter and only recovered to be about a foot tall. I hoping for a garden miracle next year.😊
The biotone shaking lined up with the music was very entertaining. Nice editing :)
Look at you asking for Aaron's opinion, love it 🤩! Great to see you both together! Beautiful! Blessings 🙏💞🤗💞
Absolutely love your garden and watching its progression over the years.
Several years ago you purchased 2 huge, wide metal arches you placed where the pond is now. Do you still have the arches and are there plans to use them?
Thank you for sharing your life, family and garden with us. Every video is inspiring and the perfect way to start the day.
Well you have done it again. I have to get at least one of those oak grass. Have a great day.
Good Morning! 🌲 I agree. I love those Junipers! I don't make plans either. I tend to buy first, then decide where to plant! 🙂🌲🌾💚🌿
🌿 What I plant usually tends to be what is on sale….so I am the same way. Buy, then figure out where to plant!🌲
Oooh, maybe you have a bee colony up in that tree! Laura, that's where all the bees from your hives went those times they left.....they stayed on property!
Good afternoon from Dublin Ireland, I just can't wait to see the sumac in all its glorious autumn colour, thank you for sharing your fabulous garden with us 🌳🌿☘️
I’m coming to Dublin next Spring, any specific gardens you’d encourage me to visit?
@@robynjohnson4498 hi the botanic gardens in glasnevin dublin are beautiful and the walled garden in Farmleigh also in Dublin
Just an idea, put a mailbox on a post near the pond to hold fish snackies 😊 Kid high, of course 😉
Everything looks so beautiful and love that you are adding more trees for Christmas lights! Has Aaron started shopping for more lights yet? Lol! I am curious about how the tiger eye sumac is spreading, does it drop berries/seeds or is it sprouting up by the roots? I don’t recall you showing the new spring growth and if it flowers. Thanks to you and all of your team, videos just keep getting better and better!
I love all you share with us.i get so excited.i sa we are going in to summer in the cape we get wet winters and this winter we had a lot of rain my grass is not looking great hoping it gets better with some heat in the ground I will be planting soon for summer.thank you have a wonderful day.😊😊
So pretty!
All I see is Christmas foliage. Drooping will work well into all decorations. If u live in the area buy ur Christmas lights now before Aaron hits the stores looking for more lights. 😂❤🎄🎄🎄
Haha
