Your property is so beautiful , but the new addition of the pond area with the bolders and plantings has elevated your property to a whole new level of "fabulocity"!

"It's like you've been married to me for 16 years" just cracked me up. My husband and I used to disagree so often about design ideas (he's an architect, I'm an artist). Now after 30 years, we don't just usually agree, we often come up with the same ideas.
Love where you placed the two junipers flanking the path. It's amazing what all you've done in just a couple years.

Crazy little tip I always used when rough measuring my plantings was to just used my shovel handle as a measuring stick. That will generally get you close enough so your eye does not detect a difference. Love the idea for an "entrance" to that section of the garden!

I use a long handled shovel that I marked off with black and green marker in 4 & 6 inch increments. Makes planting a piece of cake.

Wondering if there might be a hive up in that big tree and that why the bees were buzzing up there. I remember my cousin found a beehive in a very old well that our grandparents dug. She found the old well and all the bees in her garden were living in the well. Amazing. You find bees in some weird places.

Hi Laura. You mentioned the bee's in your tree. You may want to consult a bee keeper to see if they are creating a hive up there. This would be for your safety and the bee's safety. They could be relocated, and, bonus, if you or Aaron are interested, can become bee keeper's as well. Something to think about. Stay safe.

Have you guys considered planting a giant sequoia? They grow everywhere (zone 5 and up), unlike redwoods, that have special requirements.
Your wide open flat land would be perfect for a few - maybe out by the irrigation ditch on the new property, where you don't have any plans for development. It could make a great privacy screen :)

I'm so glad you haven't had problems with sea oats because I sure have! My sea oats want to sow their oats everywhere!! They are in the middle of my itea, loosestrife, and everwhere else. They are hard to get rid of when they are in the middle of another plant.I do cut them down before the "oats "dry. I'm in a zone 6,,also, but in the eastern US so maybe that is the problem. Easterners beware of sea oats!

Your family is living the dream. I love watching your videos. I wasn't there for the beginning and I do go back and watch past videos. I've been watching every for at least 2 years. I started a little flower garden a couple of years ago and I found you looking and learning about plants and flowers. Been non stop ever since. I recently saw a short clip of Elon Musk talking about one day things will be cheaper and what would people do with their time if they didn't have to work as much and I commented, plant everywhere, help by making everywhere beautiful. Thank you for what you bring to the world. It makes my life feel better and normal with all the crazy going on around us. May your family always be blessed and your life always beautiful in Jesus name. ❤❤❤❤❤

Love the teamwork. Really nice job of editing at minutes 6:42 to 6:52 where the music casually plays until we hear only the soft drum beat behind the sound of Aaron pouring Bio-tone. He finishes, and the music picks back up. Very well done! Looking forward to the sumac show this fall.

Love the new additions. I struggle with adding winter interest. This is a great refresher. I have to add, you know Paul is looking at the dirt around the trees and thinking “Dang it, I just made that mulch look pretty!” 😂

i wonder if you know how many trees and shrubs you've planted on this property in the 6/7 years you've lived there? .. the previous owners must be amazed at the transformation when they stop by... it's just so pretty (and of course you've added acreage)... the transformation of the south garden from an "alien planet" to its current beauty is just incredible... and because you are so knowledgeable, things thrive for you: i'd be watching things die and then trying something different 🤣🤣love that pond so much (and frogs now!!! oh boy!)... it must be such a feeling of joy and accomplishment to just stop and admire all y'all have done... and i know all of us appreciate being along for the ride!! happy tuesday!!! 🥰❤thanks for the video!! 🥰❤

I love the freedom of your garden but you HAVE created great structure with the trees lining the roads, the large row of containers, the arb structure, the boxwood structure, the circle structure with benches as you enter the flower garden and the cottage structure surrounded by fruit trees. This structure balances the free planting style everywhere else and the pond is the ultimate freedom. When the surrounding trees grow up around the pond you’ll have a little bit of magic in that corner. BTW, what’s the plan for the area next to the pond and beside the barn?

Laura, I am so glad you asked Aaron to help with those big trees. Just wonder if your back has been bothering you or you are heeding advice and being more careful with your body parts. Love the plantings today.

Love the placement of the those big trees at the opening of the pathway!!! Looks so good - great choice Aaron (and Laura) fun to see you guys working together once in awhile! Everything looks great where you planted it. Like how unstructured the South garden is. It is really looking good everywhere, love planting days!💕

Absolutely love your garden and watching its progression over the years.
Several years ago you purchased 2 huge, wide metal arches you placed where the pond is now. Do you still have the arches and are there plans to use them?
Thank you for sharing your life, family and garden with us. Every video is inspiring and the perfect way to start the day.

Good Morning! 🌲 I agree. I love those Junipers! I don't make plans either. I tend to buy first, then decide where to plant! 🙂🌲🌾💚🌿

Everything looks so beautiful and love that you are adding more trees for Christmas lights! Has Aaron started shopping for more lights yet? Lol! I am curious about how the tiger eye sumac is spreading, does it drop berries/seeds or is it sprouting up by the roots? I don’t recall you showing the new spring growth and if it flowers. Thanks to you and all of your team, videos just keep getting better and better!
