I know this is an older video, but since it is closer to the size of my property (and i just adore it) , I would love to see you take this video and do a voiceover and point out all the plants and trees that you skipped over and tell us what they all are and what they do. This was fun. I have subscribed for 2 years. Only watch your videos in the winter season (busy) educational. You could land scape and grow plants on the desert. I'm just finding and watching this for the first time. Laura was a Master Gardener way back then. The yard was Amazing. And just think what she has become!!!!! I started watching soon after they moved into the new (then) property. And haven't missed my morning Lesson since. Then when she, and then with Aaron sat on the curb to give us the recaps. Awww! This video reminds me of my childhood...my parents bought a house 🏠 on a 80' × 120" lot. It was owned by a nursery owner. 🌳🏡🌲 🌼🌸🌻🌹 The postage stamp lot had beautiful landscaping- 3 maples, 3 plums trees, 1 gorgeous crabtree, a vegetable garden tucked behind garage, blueberries lining the fence, as well as, arborvitae, Forsythia, boxwood, pine and wisteria bushes! There was a peach tree, pear and apple 🍎😍! When I saw your backyard, it was a flashback! So thankful for this childhood experience. 🍃🍂☘
Ohhh and a funny side note. We have strong storms that come through our area. I will bring up their channel and play a Playlist with the volume up significantly. Why would I do that??? Lol, because Laura's voice and the calm & peacefulness of their videos helps to keep our 3 dogs comforted during the storms 😄 🤣. They love Laura ❤️

I’ve been watching since I was pregnant with my second son (born in fall of 2015). One of the girls on a Baby Center group I had joined recommended me to you because she knew I gardened and had worked at our local garden center with my husband. I am so blessed to have been able to watch this long and see you grow and expand. Don't worry about unfinished garden projects, ours is 20 years in the making from seeds collected on vacation , cuttings from friends and dividing overly successful plantings ;throw in a few choice have to gets and I still spend most of my life out there loving every minute of it ;Have patience those unfinished projects will finally be done. Love your enthusiasm.and your garden.

First thing I noticed was Laura wearing white tennis shoes with pink laces. Your garden is beautiful. Wow if that is a “practice garden”.. I will never get to that point. Getting too old now to be bent over planting and digging in red clay. Nursing and raising children has taken up most of my adult years. But I’m ok with that..a lot of precious memories.
Don't know how its taken me so long to see you from early in your public life, but my how you have gained comfort in what you do since this was made. I loved watching it, and faithfully watch you now enjoying each production.

I just finished a 10hr shift at the garden center. Seeing your lovely garden was truly inspirational and hopefully, just the kick in the pants I need to get busy in my own yard. My edges are looking a little rough, that manure isn't going to spread itself and there's a buggy, old Sand Cherry that needs digging up. Crap. I wish I had your energy!
Oh wow I really remember this video! I was moving at the same time and had sat down for a break and watched this. Time flies! I wonder what that garden looks like now?!!
I loved it. I love seeing exotic plants that not everyone has, sort of like a secret tip you know. I would also love to your to always mention, briefly, if they like sunny spots or shady ones, what kind of soil they like and how much water they need. For gardens, I think mainly the sun/shade aspect is really imortant to know. I can't wait to see your new garden. Please film how you work in it and set it up. I'd love to see that. Also, the sidegarden of your house - that would be a great video. I bet a lot of people don't know what to do with it. They might have their trashcans there and it's usually rather shady, so I would love to see something like a sidegarden makeover, or project or something. This one looks really nice!

Wow, it's interesting to watch the garden tours years later. I started watching when you already had Benjamin. Seeing your old gardens shows how you have evolved as a garden master over the years. You could take little pieces of different videos to show certain beds as they were, as they became, and as they are now. Remarkable to see landscape with very different plants.
Pretty! What kind of grass makes up that lawn? Beautiful! I love the black elder, was it? The path to the back yard is so sweet. You'd better be taking that awesome Japanese maple with you! Your "concrete" pieces are great. I can't believe how much you put into that small yard. My house is on a "city lot"; I think that's a qtr. acre. It's shape is very much like yours. My ex-husband and I worked in & on our garden for a very long time. We married in '84, bought the house, moved into the house on July 4 of '85 and started gardening that first fall. I've loved flowers and planting since I was a little girl. When I was between 8 and 9, my mother let me plant my first flower bed between our chimney and back porch steps. I had been one of the many school kids who were encouraged to sell packets of seeds to earn money for our elementary school. I had bought a 10 cent pk. of marigolds and took my time planning & thinking of how grand they would be! My mother thought they were the little short orange & red flowers; but, they turned out to be some very tall and pale lemon yellow beauties! I grew up in "the sticks" in our little community in rural Carroll County, VA & we didn't know about all the different colors, kinds and SIZES of marigolds! During the weeks that I had spent planning, reading & thinking about my flower bed, my father had been "working" the soil, adding manure and minerals, etc. I didn't find out about this until many years later! 🙄. I told everyone in my family, all the ladies at church and even complete strangers about my amazing flower bed. I started receiving cuttings, plants & other seeds from some of those ladies! My mom had 9 sisters and several of them donated to my little bed of jewels. It really became quite pretty, especially to me. 🤔 I hadn't thought about that for a long time. I can't stop smiling. 💜

I know this is old but I can hear the sadness in your voice to leave all your hard work behind. I am in a new house, my first year. As I see plants pop up, and add my own I can't help but to think of what is coming up or what needs done at my old home. So glad to see you happy with your family in the new house!

Don't worry about unfinished garden projects, ours is 20 years in the making from seeds collected on vacation , cuttings from friends and dividing overly successful plantings ;throw in a few choice have to gets and I still spend most of my life out there loving every minute of it ;Have patience those unfinished projects will finally be done. Love your enthusiasm.and your garden.

First thing I noticed was Laura wearing white tennis shoes with pink laces. Your garden is beautiful. Wow if that is a “practice garden”.. I will never get to that point. Getting too old now to be bent over planting and digging in red clay. Nursing and raising children has taken up most of my adult years. But I’m ok with that..a lot of precious memories.

I just finished a 10hr shift at the garden center. Seeing your lovely garden was truly inspirational and hopefully, just the kick in the pants I need to get busy in my own yard. My edges are looking a little rough, that manure isn't going to spread itself and there's a buggy, old Sand Cherry that needs digging up. Crap. I wish I had your energy!

I loved it. I love seeing exotic plants that not everyone has, sort of like a secret tip you know. I would also love to your to always mention, briefly, if they like sunny spots or shady ones, what kind of soil they like and how much water they need. For gardens, I think mainly the sun/shade aspect is really imortant to know. I can't wait to see your new garden. Please film how you work in it and set it up. I'd love to see that. Also, the sidegarden of your house - that would be a great video. I bet a lot of people don't know what to do with it. They might have their trashcans there and it's usually rather shady, so I would love to see something like a sidegarden makeover, or project or something. This one looks really nice!

It is evident that you grew up with these plants, your lifelong learning of plants show through in your enthusiasm about the lovely lovely plants. Keep them coming!
Its so awsome to see someone with the same joy and passion for plants that i have. I try to explain and talk to my wife about them all the time but she does not get it. lol I love the garden. I hope to have my yard looking like that some day.

Aug. 2021 your revisit from your current home on multiple acres planting redpoint maples, back to this home shows the passage of time in growth. The spruce at the corner of your driveway is huge now!

Wow, it's interesting to watch the garden tours years later. I started watching when you already had Benjamin. Seeing your old gardens shows how you have evolved as a garden master over the years. You could take little pieces of different videos to show certain beds as they were, as they became, and as they are now. Remarkable to see landscape with very different plants.
Pretty! What kind of grass makes up that lawn? Beautiful! I love the black elder, was it? The path to the back yard is so sweet. You'd better be taking that awesome Japanese maple with you! Your "concrete" pieces are great. I can't believe how much you put into that small yard. My house is on a "city lot"; I think that's a qtr. acre. It's shape is very much like yours. My ex-husband and I worked in & on our garden for a very long time. We married in '84, bought the house, moved into the house on July 4 of '85 and started gardening that first fall. I've loved flowers and planting since I was a little girl. When I was between 8 and 9, my mother let me plant my first flower bed between our chimney and back porch steps. I had been one of the many school kids who were encouraged to sell packets of seeds to earn money for our elementary school. I had bought a 10 cent pk. of marigolds and took my time planning & thinking of how grand they would be! My mother thought they were the little short orange & red flowers; but, they turned out to be some very tall and pale lemon yellow beauties! I grew up in "the sticks" in our little community in rural Carroll County, VA & we didn't know about all the different colors, kinds and SIZES of marigolds! During the weeks that I had spent planning, reading & thinking about my flower bed, my father had been "working" the soil, adding manure and minerals, etc. I didn't find out about this until many years later! 🙄. I told everyone in my family, all the ladies at church and even complete strangers about my amazing flower bed. I started receiving cuttings, plants & other seeds from some of those ladies! My mom had 9 sisters and several of them donated to my little bed of jewels. It really became quite pretty, especially to me. 🤔 I hadn't thought about that for a long time. I can't stop smiling. 💜
