My garden is almost 30 years old and I am amazed by (and a little envious of) how much you have done in only a few years. I also enjoy seeing more shots of the garden from the deck closest to the house - it gives the whole garden a sense of scale, and I also like the contrasting materials. Best wishes in the new year!

@@Grow_a_Little I wish more people would reply! We think that if you really came in our garden and asked a question... of coruse we'd answer! At least that's how we think about it :)
Beautiful garden! I have a question, what do you do when planting salvia , lavandula and all sort of mediteranean perennials and bushes that thrive on dry soil? I guess soil in Denmark is rich and heavy on clay? So do you bring anything when planting perennials for better drainage or just leave natural soil as it is? I heard you can plant the root system a little bit above ground level so some roots are exposed leaving to dry faster.
Our soil is very wet, you’re right. For us, we make sure to plant these types of plants with good drainage - we’ll add stones to the hole before planting, that’s what we do with our lavender for example. This gives them better drainage. We also only grow varieties that can do well in our climate - versus ones that are strictly for drier areas. Hope that helps!
@perennial-garden the summer is the worst. Sometimes two or more months of 40-45C° day temps and little rain with night temps in the 30C° range. Winter can be brutal with that can go as low as -13C° in winter.
The photography was very good , sometimes not in these garden videos. And the flowers beautiful, youve worked hard . But please no music I had to turn it off .
We collect rain water and Denmark rains a lot - so no money spent on water. Plants are from seeds and cuttings - so very little money spent there. Gardening doesn’t have to be expensive. :)
You guys make magic happen in your property!
