He does. Tom was able to perfectly portray Loki's character at the end as he makes a slight smirk of sadness knowing what he needs to endure for those he care for aswell as a hint of smile for the fulfillment that, finally, he was able to prove to himself and everyone that he really has a heavy but glorious purpose worthy of having his own throne. It really was a very good evolution of his character. The finale hits a different vibe much like most of Scorsese's, Nolan's, and those made by good directors where the audience are left with so much afterthought and what ifs. Like, how would it have felt having him oversee everyone he cares for in every timeline. Also, a good afterthought is Sylvie and the rest of TVA watching over the system knows at the core of the new loom is their dear friend holding everything together for their sake. It's also a fulfilling ending for his self-love story with Sylvie that while a failed love affair, she exists because of him. I would appreciate this if the series wins the best scriptwrite and Tom a best acting award. Totally agree that Loki is absolutely the best series from Marvel in recent years. Loki gradually becomes my fav character !!! And the good thing about Loki is he is one of a kind. You have no idea of what he will do next.... such uncertainty makes it so interested to follow his story. Missing Loki in Thor4 is also a big reason for the falling of Thor franchise because the story becomes too predictable without Loki
I really enjoyed this finale, and I think so much of that has to do with Loki.. Everyone was great, other standouts for me are Mobius and O.B., but Loki really sold me on every emotion along the entire journey. I wanted to watch just to see how it'd end for him.. and to see him finally achieve his glorious purpose, just when he'd given that dream up for himself, has that poetic balance that is just perfect. That sad smirk from Loki at the end almost brought a tear to my eye. They owe Tom Hiddleston millions for the hard re-boot he just pulled off almost single-handedly lol. Hopefully they don't screw things up further from here on.
I love that Loki time slipped to Mobius' and his conversation from the first episode in the first season so his character development was really obvious
The way he made his destiny become fulfilled was beautifully done. Loki has truly become the center of the MCU. As always huge thanks to Charlie! Emergency Awesome has provided some the best coverage out there!
I would have loved to see a scene with Loki talking to Odin before taking that final walk........a chance to finally show his Dad his growth.....also to have Odin show his pride in seeing Loki understand what Odin always knew he could achieve.......would have been a nice book end to his character development

Very pleased to witness Loki’s character persevere, to include using the vision of what happens to him prior to the TVA intercepting him & then choosing a path which does permit Loki to be one who is destined with “Glorious Purpose”. 🍻🙏🏼🍻
truly i’m so happy with the character development alone, i just know Odin would've been proud to see Loki like this for sure and getting his throne in the end like he's always wanted even tho we're not getting a season 3 and it looks that way, i hope they can use him for the plot of Kang Dynasty or something
Its an amazing feat how even after one week all fans are still speculating over the show and its sheer awesomeness. Tom Hiddleston gave his best performance in Loki and it will always be remembers. Loki the God of Multiverse and the God of Stories. What a poetic show indeed.
It's a perfect ending, but very sad for his fate. Even with the ability to project himself in all timelines he was physically stuck there on his throne, unable to face Mobius and Thor physically. It seems to me that he is even directly with TVA and they cannot communicate with him
Loki is the only reason I have Disney Plus. It used to be because of the Mandalorian, but after the last season.... its just Loki now. That image of Loki carrying the multiverse is the perfect metaphor for the show carrying the MCU.
I think one of the coolest parts is, if he tries to give somebody clues about what's happening in their life, they're immediately not going to trust him because he's loki.
Lol didnt even Think about This, i Can imagine him trying to appear for original 6 Marvel characters and they just dont trust him. Perhaps another scene where hulk tries to go on him again, But loki just freezez hulk in his place
We’ve taken the MCU for granted. Everyone. This includes Marvel. Loki epitomizes the possibilities of not just the MCU but the best stories are ones that give us the opportunity to look at our lives and ask if we can change and find our own glorious purpose.
@denM-ey3vb why are you bringing race into this? He did not mention race. He said we need better stories that let us reflect and better ourselves. Why would you bring race into this?
@@denM-ey3vbthis comment isn’t necessary…in no way did the original comment mention gender or race. Of course movies like Black Panther and Wonder Woman (2017) both did well and disprove that. Also, I know Wonder Woman is a DC movie, but the female led properties in MCU are She Hulk, Black Widow, Ms Marvel and Captain Marvel and those aren’t good examples. Wandavision was good though.
I love how the infinite timelines stabilized by Loki looks like the World Tree, Yggdrasil. In Norse Mythology, the ruler over Yggdrasil was Odin and Yggdrasil kind of represents "Space". In a similar fashion, this Time Tree is ruled over by Loki and represents "Time", so it's like Loki finally found his purpose and is making his father proud.
Loki as a character is one of the best examples on how to make the character important and have meaning... can't say the same about Cpt. Marvel for example. Let's hope more series like this will come!
You nailed why Loki is good. It’s the same reason Agents of Shield was so good. Character development. It’s unfortunate it was basically kicked out of the main continuity canon. From a non-movie standpoint, AOS was the best thing Marvel did. Loki was phenomenal though. Hiddleston is one of the best actors alive today.
Part of me is wondering something really simple. If Kang planned the whole thing for Loki, what if he did this to get him out of the way. If you think of it, he became ridiculously powerful he's literally holding the 'Yggdrasil' together. Hence he cannot bother with Kang as he is now preoccupied and maybe his power of time manipulation might be the only real threat to Kang.
My theory is with loki in place at the end of time he'll figure out he can Still use his magic to astral project himself within the timeline this could be how he collects the avenger primes it would also serve as a good way to " Nerd" his perceived new strength as he would be limited in his astral form, but also unable to risk leaving the throne. Projection / duplication is one of his core skills after all.
Maybe that was the reason they had Loki explain in episode 202 I think about shadow projection vs copy of himself if you remember the scene where he was tracking down agent in that London timeline
Didn't Tom Hiddleston say something about 4 hour presentations he would hold explaining loki's character? He seems really passionate about the character. This focus on character development is what gave me high hopes for the series. I still didn't expect it to be this good though, the conclusion was amazing.
Also I loved in this how the big special effects told a story. They weren't just hey look a pretty fight scene, they were part of the story, and they made it more meaningful. That whole end bit with just Tom Hiddleston and CGI told us everything without a word, just good acting supported by CGI not hidden by it.
Tom Hiddleston and the writers and producers of Loki did an excellent job this season. If this has been a regular MCU movie, it would've made my top 5.
The journey Loki has gone through was truly great writing and has been the saving grace for Marvel this year, I really hope “What If?” Season 2 will be just as good
Biggest Loki questions: 1) So the timelines can still exist then And the multiverse isn't going anywhere Meaning secret wars can still happen? 2) How is /will the TVA be different now? How will Loki be similar and different to He who remains? Will the multiverse/all the timelines have complete free will or will there still be some control and pre determinism? 3) The TVA (Mobius and Miss Minutes) are confirmed for DP3, what kinda problem will Deadpool cause? Will Loki show up? 4) Are the kangs still coming? Can't Loki easily stop them now? How relevant and powerful/challenging will The Kangs be? Will this pave the way for Dr Doom? 5) Did He Who Remains plan this all along and for Loki to forge his own path? 6) Is Renslayer doomed? 7) When Loki was holding the threads of timelines together and keeping them stable, how come He Who Remains couldn't do that?
1. Sounds like it. I'm not sure how "infinite" Yggdrasil is compared to the temporal loom but there's definitely enough alternate timelines to have all sorts of wild things happen. 2. The TVA now exists to prune troublesome Kang variants. This seems to be the strategy that will allow Loki to give each timeline more self determination instead of just nuking them outright for being the genesis of some nasty Kang. 3. I'd imagine it would involve general 4th wall breaking shenanigans. But cranked up to 11 if Deadpool actually gets access to the tools to mess with timelines and whatnot. Given the seeming finality of Loki the show, I don't expect Loki the God to show up much more, although I doubt it'd be hard for him to conjure himself up in a timeline to say hi or something. 4. I know there's been a lot of chatter about this ending opening the door for Disney/Marvel to write out Jonathan Majors/Kang, but if anything this could just as easily set up stories for what the most nefarious Kangs get up to and how the TVA may or may not step in to address them. After all, they specifically mentioned Earth 616 dealing with a really bad Kang and how the TVA chose to let that one work itself out. 5. I get that vibe. Dude literally writes existence and one of his victory scenarios from season 1 was essentially handing off the reins to the universe so that he didn't have to spend his whole existence writing the past, present, and future. 6. The final scene suggests it, but I didn't see a body, so I don't consider her dead. Besides, the TVA is only hunting Kangs; there was no mention of pruning out pesky Renslayers. Even if Loki Renslayer is dead, I'm sure another variant will pop up at some point. 7. He Who Remains was ultimately just a mortal. An extremely powerful mortal with incredible intelligence and technology, but a mortal all the same. Plus, He Who Remains didn't really want to hold all those threads in the first place; the only timeline he cared about was the one where he won and that was it. Everything else necessarily had to be wiped.
@@mwallyn09how did he defend himself against two gods is my curiosity. But essentially whatever happens is what they wrote by I always wonder in world reasoning. This was a good 2 season run
@@itowilltubeI mean he didn’t really, Loki defended Sylvie from killing he who remains in the 1st season.. and also he can only stop someone’s time with a tool while Loki can just stop someone’s time with just his hand.
Do we all remember when Mobius said "And for that I need a *LOKI WHO REMAINS*" in the first episode when he time slips to the war room, subtle hint or what? 😂
Oh wow! I'm sure that I'm late to this but I just noticed how OB/Doug's workshop foreshadows the world tree image! I assume you mentioned that somewhere that I haven't seen but I was actually surprised to spot it once in a switch from Loki's world tree time bundle to an earlier scene of Loki talking to OB in his workshop! It was a perfect match! Ok, like I said, I'm sure this was already discussed somewhere but that was cool too see.
Loki is now my favorite characters hands down im glad he sacrifice himself in the end ,and helped his friends out ,but its pretty scary knowing that he who remains for exactly what he wanted ,and the council of kangs is out there ,and are definitely going to be more brutal than 616 kang.
Loki probably had the best character development in the whole of MCU history. From a narcissistic egotistical self-centered wannabe king to the God of Multiverse sacrificing himself so that all of time can be saved. Goddamn that's some character writing by Marvel. Thoroughly loved the series, the story, the execution of dialogues and also the music. The ending is so poetic to his character, Loki didn't want the throne but in the he has to sit on it for all of us, for all of time. Thank you so much Tom Hiddlestone for bringing Loki to life.
It’s crazy that if you really think about it! Loki went from being the first big bad to the savior of the multiverse in the matters of days maybe weeks! And it still doesn’t feel like rushed character development! This genuinely was my favorite thing about the post Endgame marvel! Thank you Tom Hiddelston! I honesty hope this isn’t the last time we see him!! #GOS #LOKI
My husband and I just literally stumbled upon Loki during our search of shows on Disney+ (Marvel) and decided to give it a go. We watched the entire season 1 and then season 2, and even after the very first episode of season 1, we were hooked. The originality of the storyline, the amazing characters and the suspense of it all was so satisfying to watch and we fell in love with everyone, especially Loki. Seeing him transform was truly inspiring and gratifying. Great acting all around. If season 3 doesn’t get created, it will be surely missed. Thank you, Tom Hiddleston, for your amazing performance! You really are a wondrous actor and person ❤️
The best thing about this show is his character arc IMHO, but they did a great job over all. I wouldn't recommend a season 3. maybe a spin off into a different time line.
I loved this show so much. They really put serious thought into it. I truly hope that marvel understands why this was so good and doesn't just copy surface level aspects of this show. I could see them thinking : "oh i guess we need to make every main character like loki now." Or "They really liked Owen wilson on a jet ski so lets make a show where people are trying to ride jet skis". I guess we will see
Marvel just understood the Loki character and what the way he fit into the marvel universe going forward way more than a lot of the other characters recently.
Started watching Marvel with ThOr 1 that's why i love thor and loki so much and after 14 years still hopefull for seeing loki being the saviour of MCU this means alot to me i love them i love them all 💚
I think the best part about this finale is how it decontextualised the season. I initially saw it as sorta slow an limped through in certain episodes but looking at it now with the new context, the whole season becomes less of an adventure show and more of a character show. Growing Loki to this point instead of solving a problem
Quite a smart way to set up Loki as the God of all stories like in the comics, Now the man's got the entire power of writing, directing and producing the entire MCU going forward lol.
I was really mixed on season 1 of Loki because of the pacing issues, some things having to do with Sylvie and the underutilization of Loki's powers. The first half of season 2 still had some of those things for me but by the end I think I can say the series as a whole was really really good and beautiful. It even made me tear up by the end seeing Loki smiling on the throne. I feel like you were completely spot on with a lot of the criticisms and reasons why Loki worked. The original Loki had such an amazing character arc and this show really just built off of it in a new direction while making it come full circle. The writing was sometimes weak but the acting was absolutely phenomenal, I feel like Tom Hiddleston should have gotten an Emmy for this. Owen Wilson, Jonathan Majors and Sophia Di Martino had really great performances too. The writing for the time travel and time loops in season 2 were amazing and very well done. I don't think they should do any more Loki projects until Doomsday and Secret Wars but man is it so bittersweet to see his character arc come to a close. The only thing I wish they would explain more explicitly is the difference between alternate universes and alternate timelines. This was something a lot of people were wondering from season 1 as well but letting the timelines branch out wasn't the birth of the multiverse because the multiverse existed before that (with universes like the Fox-verse, Toby's universe etc).
Loki season 2 not only revigorated the dead timeline, but it also revigorated my love for the MCU after the back to back to back to back disappointment.
All I want to know is what happened to Victor Timely? Like sure, they went back and made it so he never received the book, but the one who did is still alive. Did they just prune him? Is he just chilling in the TVA?
Because he now knows the values of humanity ❤ plus, he is now attached to too many people and he don't wanna lose them... From ruling them to saving them by sacrificing himself, is the greatest character development in MCM ❤ I love Tom Hiddleston so much ❤
My theory and what i am hoping is that though he cant physically get out of the chair, he can access any universe in the mulitverse, and go transfer his consciousness into someone elses body and shapeshift i guess into loki. Or just simply create clones or mirages of himself which he has shown he can actually do.
Charlie!!! I called that World Tree back in episode 5 ( in OB's 1st office, though I probably wasn't the only one ). The Marvels wasn't bad; it wasn't good, either. I see the similarities with Thanos, though Darben was no where near as mighty. Loki ( season 2) was the best thing since Infinity War
I watched the Hiddleston interview and it seemed to me he was trying to answer a question without spoiling. I was surprised to see all the videos ‘Hiddleston is done!no more Loki!’ Because that’s not what I got out of what he said.
NGL I have to give a shoutout to the 3mins you spent referencing the Marvel/ Disney situation. Understandably it would not be in your interest to bash the company but thanks for referencing it. We all know it too well what the issues are and I hope "they" create movies and series that lets us fall back in love with Marvel again. Loki actually blew me away and something special happened that hadn't since 2019 , my brothers and I had a furious whatsapp discussion about what the Loki ending meant. Thanks Charley!
I think they also redeemed Kang by the end if Season 2.l as well. Initially he came across as kind of a joke, but by the end, he dropped the facade, and began to appear more menacing.

This show came with glorious purpose. Hope other writers pay attention to how you start and end a show or movie.
I would have loved to see a scene with Loki talking to Odin before taking that final walk........a chance to finally show his Dad his growth.....also to have Odin show his pride in seeing Loki understand what Odin always knew he could achieve.......would have been a nice book end to his character development
I would have cried bro 😂😂😂😂😂
That's what I wanted in the end credits, and then we got nothing.
Make a petition to add the scene xD
Or maybe try with AI
jonathan majors as victor timely is amazing! i hope disney keeps him and let him finish the story with this multiversal war
Here's hoping they drop his charges. There's a lot of evidence showing he didn't harm that girl who accused him
@@fattygamer94🤔and who puts their hair in a ponytail with a “broken” finger?!? I can’t put my long hair up with a hangnail let alone a broken finger 🤨. I also didn’t see any blood she claims was behind her ear 😠
@@tlouiseallen9302 One of the biggest piece of evidence I knew she was lying was, there was video footage of her at a club at 2:00 in the morning. A few hours after she claims this whole thing happened
He's saving untold billions of people across who knows how many universes. Loki, a hero at last with the ultimate Glorious Purpose.
Very pleased to witness Loki’s character persevere, to include using the vision of what happens to him prior to the TVA intercepting him & then choosing a path which does permit Loki to be one who is destined with “Glorious Purpose”. 🍻🙏🏼🍻
All I can say is that Tom Hiddleston is fantastic even when underutilized and with less than stellar dialogue.
truly i’m so happy with the character development alone, i just know Odin would've been proud to see Loki like this for sure and getting his throne in the end like he's always wanted
even tho we're not getting a season 3 and it looks that way, i hope they can use him for the plot of Kang Dynasty or something
Loki is the only thing thats kept me connected to marvel after endgame!
Sad that its over but very pleased with how it concluded!
They told a more complete story than they usually do, and they did it with better characters than usual.
Its an amazing feat how even after one week all fans are still speculating over the show and its sheer awesomeness. Tom Hiddleston gave his best performance in Loki and it will always be remembers. Loki the God of Multiverse and the God of Stories. What a poetic show indeed.
Tom Hiddleston’s part in that villain Jaguar commercial made him the perfect fit in the MCU as Loki
It looked final, perfect ending. His look looked like a farewell, a confortable relieve.
"I might just wait here for a little bit, let time pass"
Can't get over the last episode even after a week. Watched so many times.
This show is so good. I definitely want to see more loki. That world tree image of all the timelines was beautiful.
We’ve taken the MCU for granted. Everyone. This includes Marvel. Loki epitomizes the possibilities of not just the MCU but the best stories are ones that give us the opportunity to look at our lives and ask if we can change and find our own glorious purpose.
Really? So only white men can be leads in a superhero movie right?
@denM-ey3vb why are you bringing race into this? He did not mention race. He said we need better stories that let us reflect and better ourselves. Why would you bring race into this?
@@michaelhooper4807why only race he brought sex up too lol
Very well said my friend
This is, without a doubt, the best episodic series ever! If this is the end of Loki, then what a great way to show him selfless🔥🔥🔥🙌💜
Loki’s 14 year story arc has been amazing
Part of me is wondering something really simple. If Kang planned the whole thing for Loki, what if he did this to get him out of the way. If you think of it, he became ridiculously powerful he's literally holding the 'Yggdrasil' together. Hence he cannot bother with Kang as he is now preoccupied and maybe his power of time manipulation might be the only real threat to Kang.
He wasn't a threat before and didn't need to be kept occupied. He definitely wanted a replacement.
Tom Hiddleston and Jonathan Majors are two marvel gems. Their range is incredible.
You mean illusions
Nerf?
"I need a Loki who he remains"... Makes sense.
Didn't Tom Hiddleston say something about 4 hour presentations he would hold explaining loki's character? He seems really passionate about the character. This focus on character development is what gave me high hopes for the series. I still didn't expect it to be this good though, the conclusion was amazing.
Loki Lectures haha
Loki is by far my favorite show they have dropped so far
I can’t wait to see how they use him for the plot going forward.
We'll see him again in the next Avengers movie!
is that confirmed?@@emergencyawesome

Also I loved in this how the big special effects told a story. They weren't just hey look a pretty fight scene, they were part of the story, and they made it more meaningful. That whole end bit with just Tom Hiddleston and CGI told us everything without a word, just good acting supported by CGI not hidden by it.
Tom Hiddleston and the writers and producers of Loki did an excellent job this season. If this has been a regular MCU movie, it would've made my top 5.
This was such a beautiful ending ❤ Loki is such a good show
If Thor only see what loki. truly became Thor would been really proud of him
The journey Loki has gone through was truly great writing and has been the saving grace for Marvel this year, I really hope “What If?” Season 2 will be just as good
Let's keep these writers happy and on board for whatever else MCU has planned❤
Biggest Loki questions:
1) So the timelines can still exist then And the multiverse isn't going anywhere Meaning secret wars can still happen?
@@mwallyn09 wow This is really nice 👏👏👏👏
@@mwallyn09how did he defend himself against two gods is my curiosity. But essentially whatever happens is what they wrote by I always wonder in world reasoning. This was a good 2 season run
@@itowilltubeI mean he didn’t really, Loki defended Sylvie from killing he who remains in the 1st season.. and also he can only stop someone’s time with a tool while Loki can just stop someone’s time with just his hand.
Loki just fuel all these time lines, he can't change them
Love how they did his cape of time branches
Perfect ending to the best show Marvel has put out so far....
Do we all remember when Mobius said "And for that I need a *LOKI WHO REMAINS*" in the first episode when he time slips to the war room, subtle hint or what? 😂
Loki got his throne when he became worthy. Like all MCU, it goes back to their origins and their legacy.
When he wanted a throne he didn’t get it, when he didn’t want a throne he got one
Gotta admit, I do like Loki's arc. He goes from the ultimate entitled villain to the saviour of the multiverse
“How ya' like me now!”-Loki, to all his haters.
Loki could easily make a clone of himself to sit in the chair & go help with the multiverse war. Simplicity itself
#GOS #LOKI
It took Centuries
I could see them thinking :
"oh i guess we need to make every main character like loki now."
Or
"They really liked Owen wilson on a jet ski so lets make a show where people are trying to ride jet skis".
I guess we will see
Marvel just understood the Loki character and what the way he fit into the marvel universe going forward way more than a lot of the other characters recently.
Started watching Marvel with ThOr 1 that's why i love thor and loki so much and after 14 years still hopefull for seeing loki being the saviour of MCU this means alot to me i love them i love them all 💚
From the god of mischief to the god of stories
The scene when he was climbing and sit on his throne, and the music! wow! its just wow! one of my top 3 scenes in mcu.
Best Disney+ series so far indeed, sticking around for Loki was totally worth it!
Just imagine the look of joy on Thors face when he see his brother has Leveled up!
Imagine what good writing could do for the rest of the other franchises
Let's keep them happy and on board for other upcoming projects
Loki could always just send a projection of himself around while remaining seated.
Loki creating a world tree to fix the time line is a great concept another great episode 👍
Respect to Loki for clearing things up!
All I want to know is what happened to Victor Timely? Like sure, they went back and made it so he never received the book, but the one who did is still alive. Did they just prune him? Is he just chilling in the TVA?
I think that's one of the most beautiful trees ever. This was such an epic finale! I loved it all!
Because he now knows the values of humanity ❤ plus, he is now attached to too many people and he don't wanna lose them...
From ruling them to saving them by sacrificing himself, is the greatest character development in MCM ❤
I love Tom Hiddleston so much ❤
His acting was superb.
i wish they had a scene for odin in valhalla being proud.
If this is the end of loki's story it was pretty prefect end in my opinion.
Nice!
I watched the Hiddleston interview and it seemed to me he was trying to answer a question without spoiling. I was surprised to see all the videos ‘Hiddleston is done!no more Loki!’ Because that’s not what I got out of what he said.
Now that Loki saved the Marvel Multiverse we can go right towards What IF season 2 😊🎉
