What bothers me about the MCU in general is they are pushing to make Capt Marvel super badass girl boss, forgetting the super badass girl boss already in Scarlet Witch one of the most powerful characters in the comics.
The Spiderman No Way Home case is more complex than that. The spell can't change the past, forgetting about Misterio or his message won't change the knowledge people has, other than make them forget where they got it from.

Everyone will remember Misterio, everyone will remember he revealed the identity of Spiderman, but nobody would be able to remember who Spiderman was. And since the solution you proposed and this one had physical proof, we can assume the spell would also erase physical things related to that knowledge. What I'm saying is that by forgetting Misterio's message they will just forget he was the one who revealed Spiderman identity, but since the spell can't change the past the knowledge of that information will remain in people's heads, they just won't be able to remember where they got that information. While by forgetting Spiderman's identity people would still remember Misterio give them a name and a face for Spiderman but won't be able to remember who he was. The movie had the right approach to make its plot work, but it was poorly executed. Still I don't think it qualifies as one of the dumbest MCU decisions.
@@JustHonest444 It could, if Strange had the time stone. Without it his spells can only take effect in the present. Now I know the MCU breaks its own rules half the time but for the sake of the video and the movie I'm assuming they keep his spells somewhat consistent.
If you watch the black bolt scene in slow motion you’ll see that his head turns red meaning he didn’t kill himself, the scarlet witch blew up his brain from the inside.
It would be an odd design choice if it is. By killing the Illuminati Wanda is displaying her power, but if he kills himself it wouldn’t have the same effect. plus why change his powers?
