What did you think of Loki Season 2?? Is Loki the saving grace of a failing MCU? Comment below! 💥
It’s been the most engaged I’ve been in an MCU project since Guardians. It’s really reignited my appreciation for Loki as a character and it makes me excited to potentially see more of him in the future.
That finale was so spectacular! I was *yelling* at my screen going "THIS IS SO COOL" during the scene where Loki was creating his Yggdrasil. The most emotionally-engaged I've been since GOTG 3.
Yes
Literally and figuratively saved the MCU.
no liking?
I know visuals aren’t everything, but in an era where MCU projects are stylistically bland with middling CGI, I love how beautifully cinematic Loki is. Fantastic use of colors, great camera work, unique aesthetic, impressive set design, and finished CGI do so much to enhance an already great story.
I love everything about the visuals of this show. The way they did the closeups of Mobius' and Loki's faces during their last conversation in S2E6, it just felt right. It shows that the general aesthetic vision was good, and not just the quality of the GCI.
@@Lurion_K9 the scene with Sylvie when the universe collapses is very visually impressive.
200th like
That scene with sylvie was so fkn psychedelic
This show realised too much on visuals.
Loki’s back must hurt from carrying the MCU on his shoulders right now.
He took the Loom so yes he creates "Hope" in all of us
Same as him carrying all the timelines in the series.
I mean there was guardians which was great as well and Marvel's was meant to be a goofy fun film which it was. I'd say that it is starting to find its rhythm again as the percentage of decent to great content has increased. They lost a lot of people's trust so of course people are not willing to believe that they are improving but I feel like we are getting out of the slump. We will see when the next marvel stuff comes out and while I don't expect anything too astounding I think it will be enjoyable for most families.
“Wasn’t tactical🤷🏾♂️🥴” Loki lol
@@aniheartsong5102he's literally carrying the mcu
*Tom Hiddleston’s Dedication and Passion to Marvel and Loki*
- He read all the comics as he was growing up.
- He watched the movies since the beginning and loved them.
- He held multi-day long ‘Loki’ & ‘Marvel’ lectures for the entire cast and crew even going to Owen’s house several days in a row to help him prepare for his role as ‘Mobius.’
- He learnt Norwegian and sang in it as well as learning Latin and studied Norse lore to prepare for his role in the first Thor movie.
- He asked the composer, Natalie Holt to put certain music tracks into particular scenes.
- He handed out poetry to the cast and crew in order to ‘inspire their imaginations’
- He was made ‘special executive producer’ since he has such passion and knowledge of Marvel!
- He listened to the Thor 1 soundtrack when he decided to repeat the line he also improvised in that movie and re-used in ‘Loki’ S2: “For you. For all of us.”
- He says that playing Loki was part of his ‘glorious purpose.’
This is amazing info thank you, do you have any links to videos or articles that this info came from?
@@Randomthew None in particular. I found out these bits of information from interview clips and articles.
Tom Hiddleston is a chad ngl
He also wrote a letter to the author of Loki:Agent of Asgard, to thank him for the great work. It was published as a foreword in the comics actually.
@@mockingjay4776Cool!
the fact that people are comparing loki's development with iron man who's a character of mythical status in the mcu and no one has a problem with it, speaks volumes of how amazing he is
Didn't think that but you're right
Just to add in, I feel like Natalie Holt deserves ALL the praise for her phenomenal soundtrack. Absolutely amazing work, especially how she blended the synth and orchestral elements to create really unique soundscapes. And she sold the fuck out of the emotions, which was crucial in a series that risked losing the audience by being too cerebral and esoteric.
(As an aside, if Disney ever does that long-rumored Tron 3, I'd totally want to see her score it.)
Right? Loved the soundtrack so much.
YES!!! THANK YOU!!! Compared to other MCU ost's, Loki's stands heads and shoulders above them, especially in the final episode. Natalie Holt deserves praise for how unique, epic, flavorful, and memorable her latest work is!!!
Absolutely. She went OFF!
Natalie’s wonderful! She also threw eggs at Simon Cowell ten years ago on Britain’s Got Talent, which makes her even more awesome. ❤️❤️❤️
we had like minutes at a time of just the soundtrack haha, the editors knew they were working with gold
I am so glad that the creators decided to only do two seasons, and to treat them like bookends to each other. This is a series that is only going to get better with each rewatch, with all the thematic parallels and "inconsequential" details seeded throughout the plot.
Awesome series❤
@quinzerrak4975heck, even the directing is way better than every other show. Every once in a while (every 5 minutes) There's a shot that just hits hard
@quinzerrak4975your joking right....please tell me your joking
@quinzerrak4975 Huh
@@levicarpenter5509 Why would they be joking? They're not wrong!
Loki Season 2 is the best thing to happen to Marvel in 2023, alongside Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. When Loki literally carried the timelines with his bare hands and formed a new Multiverse in the form of Yggdrasil, he finally fulfilled his glorious purpose as he's now the God of Stories.
Couldn't agree more!
Black panther 2 was good
I don’t know why people don’t mention that as well
@@Silkysmooth-qk5ncyeah but that wasn’t 2023
@@Silkysmooth-qk5ncidk dude that final scene where they beats Namor by turning on the heat, that shit was dumb ash. Namor is stupid strong.
@@Silkysmooth-qk5nc It’s ok but it’s mainly carried by being a tribute to Chadwick. Outside of that the story and characters are meh. Namor was the only good character tbh
Give the Loki scriptwriters the next Avengers movie
Meh. Michael Waldron wrote Doctor Strange: MoM. Pass.
@@jesustapped Season 2 was written by Eric Martin though.
@@RangoRNAyeah and it's pretty obvious; S2 is much worse than S1. Literally half of S2 is a genuine waste of time that advances the plot at a snails pace, with really awful pacing at multiple points.
@@Artakka. So, u prefer Michal Waldron then?
@@jesustapped He also wrote Season 1
Loki went from god to GOD
YEAH HE DID
It's so funny to me that we can call Loki - a series with time travel, Gods, multiple universes, variants of the same person and magic - grounded. But it is. And Marvel should really look at that.
Can we just appreciate the work that Natalie Holt did? The score was amazing!!!
Even kang said it’s impossible to find all his variants there’s too many showing the fact that season 3 doesn’t need to happen and loki is now the holder of all the timelines the ending is perfect
The first season was promising and delivered, unfortunately was underrated as not a lot were receptive with D+ shows back then. Second season is like the Endgame of D+ shows and further pushed the narrative of the overall MCU of which none of other shows or movies can (because they're busy with mindless cgi fights, crazy but unnecessary cameos, half cooked plots, sticking with the old formula when they literally called themselves out in She-Hulk, etc...). Thanks to the whole Loki team and Tom for the 14 years. I don't know how else is Marvel gonna move forward from here on out.
Loki season 1 underrated? It's literally the most watched Disney+ MCU with 2.5 million views per Samba TV or over 770 million minutes watched per Nielsen. "I don't know how else is Marvel gonna move forward from here on out" Are you not aware of Deadpool 3 pushing the main multiverse narrative forward or seen The Marvels post credit's of Beast from the X-Men?
@@luismedrano6680 bruh chill.
@@Rndmnpc004 why are you telling him to chill??? Do you not have anything better to respond back with or something???
@vice2versa bruh u too chill. Ive said what I said in my original comment. All other Marvel content are hit or miss. They're releasing content after content without pushing the narrative of multiverse teased all the way from the first Antman movie. Seriously, chill. It's just movies, oh wait.
@jpanonuevo5378 how dare you question the all-knowing marvel fanboys lol.
I think it's so fitting for him to protect a "free" timelines tree. After all, if he who remains and the TVA are order then Loki is chaos. We tend think of chaos as bad, but it's not. The universe was created from chaos. And the chaos of letting time branches to grow infinitely is definitely chaos.
Loved the show, the one thing I wish they included was a moment like Thor had with Odin after Odin's death, Loki in his darkest moment being truly alone, Odin (or Frigga) could've spoken to him to give him words of encouragement. Only a thought, the ending was still great.
You're right! It's like Marvel doesn't know the basic principles of world-building.
I loved the show, although I felt Sylvie was- underdeveloped. She is a very selfish character, which I don't actually have a problem with, but then she proceeds to have no growth while still trying to be an authority in the different moral debates that you mentioned. She doesn't really acknowledge her role in all the issues that Loki has to fix, I mean, season 2 is literally the consequences of her actions and no one really calls her out on any of it.
More like, "forgot." Marvel wrote the fucking book on world building and did it successfully for over a decade.
But loki called her out on it tho
I never cared about meth head looking ass this was about our Loki anyways
@@lex_rodriguezNope, they didn't right a book they wrote a draft. Thanos was initially going to be an Easter egg and Loki's scepter was retconned to be an infinity stone. It's just the same as how Kang was going to be a villain of the week but then decided it could be a full fledged storyline
I mean, no one really knows if she’s right or wrong to do it. That’s the whole premise of S2.
While it was a powerful end, keep in mind that this is still an ouroboros. He Who Remains did not try to stop Loki from doing it different.. because he will be coming back to depose Loki. Renslayer was a pivotal partner for He Who Remains. We saw her be sent to the void at the end of time. And the Kang that got sucked into his multiversal core most likely will end up in the same void to team up with Renslayer and tame Alioth again. It's basically leading to the upcoming Avengers films, but the inkling is that something will change this time and Loki will have help. The latter part is speculative, but the first seems to be set in stone that it is still basically a contingency for He Who Remains, just like the Loom was.
*“Hope is hard.”* - Loki
I think, that if it isn’t a last hope. It was definitely a fine ending to the last good period of the MCU. It ends on the multiverse being saved and forever placed as a part of the MCU. Whatever happens next is up to your imagination, it’s a multiverse now and anything can happen. Its an open ending to a franchise that kind of can’t close in its perpetual state of bigger villains and hero’s battling it out, it leaves the opportunity for more but also the closure it needs for if there is no more to come. And it all ended beautifully as the finale of one the MCUs most beloved characters
What makes me even happier about this Finale s that it Ties into the Spider-Verse! After Miles is exposed to the Branching Timeline/Multiverse (The Literal Branch!).
It’s revealed that their Branch contains all the Branching Scenarios of Spider-Man and Spider people Alike! Not only that it is just one of Many Timelines that Loki now has the power to see! The power to change! And it is astonishing to see how beautiful this all is!
The story is very similar to many Stoic and spiritual teachings, Loki strive to control his path and destiny, however he realizes no matter what he does he cannot escape his destine purpose. The continuous time slip of trying to make things right is an example of our constant rebirth and the cycle breaks when he realizes there is no end. He only realizes he can control both actions and taughts in the present not rewrite the past or move forward into the future he realizes his action now is his choice.and to attain peace of self and love is to perform Selfless deeds . His action is his free will and he chose to make the biggest sacrifice, sacrifice self without expectations..Loki excepting his faith by selfless actions. leads to peace and love in his heart ( Content) this transformation is as some call Awaken! Realization of a greater power within !!!
Outcast of the family? I hear a song coming on!
"We don't talk about Loki, oh no no! We don't talk about Loki!"
Oh this was a beautifully written essay, exactly what I needed after finishing up the series! Seriously great stuff. After what's been an incredibly over saturated couple years of honestly worsening marvel content, this has given me a breath of fresh air. It really made me remember why I love Loki as a character so much, and truly got me thinking back to the beginning of the MCU as a whole. Marvel, you gotta see that you struck a gem with this one. There isn't a more pressing time to learn to set things back on track, it's now or never.
Like literally, he can snap a branch and the entire universe is gone. I can easily say that currently, he's the most powerful being in the whole multiverse right now. He literally is in a position in which Kang can only dreamed of.
Best part of this series when he went to study, for centuries.
I hope this is a joke. They didn’t show anything.
Most people are saying they think the mcu has been in a time loop and I think we’re finally watching the loop break and I think the one reason this time is different is the lake scene in season 1. Loki and sylvies kiss is the event that broke the loop that’s why it had such a huge temporal spike. Loki finally found someone to fight with not for. He found someone who truly loves him for well…him
He became a norn a weaver of fate and the caretaker of Yggdrasil
Edit: the norns are three sisters Urd, Verdandi, and Skuld they sit under Yggdrasil by Urðarbrunnr They spin threads of fate that they weave into tapestries They also take care of Yggdrasil by watering and patching it with mud. The norns are also more powerful than the gods because the gods have to fallow fate
If only everything else post-Endgame was our only hope, too.
I thought No Way Home did that, as did Shang Chi, or their earlier shows that same year like Wandavision, Hawkeye, or last year's Moon Knight, Werewolf by Knight, Black Panther Wakanda Forever. I mean earlier this year we had Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 lol and ppl already forgot about it being that good lol. I mean there were literally tv spots from one critic proclaiming that Guardians 3, "the best marvel movie since Endgame" lol
@@luismedrano6680 2021 was more than a serviceable year for the MCU. 2022 is when people really started to be turned off by it. 2024 and 2025 must turn the tables permanently.
@@wickdaline8668 Before Deadpool 3, we have What If S2 and Echo.
While I'm not worried at all for Deadpool 3 and looking forward to Echo, I'm very worried about What If S2. The first season had 2 great episodes (4 and 8) and 1 decent episode (3). Episodes 1 and 2 were boring and episode 9 was a mixed bag. Episodes 5, 6 and 7 were genuinely awful. I hope Season 2 will be more consistent with its episode quality so that it won't be just another throwaway for Marvel.
@@purple1441The end of what If season 2 was SHIIIIIIT
@@n4n4sh1_ The end of Season 1 was also shit, but at least Season 2 had more good episodes.
Loki is the best thing to come out of Marvel post Endgame and it's not even close. Ive really lost interest in most Marvel stuff these days but i loved this series so much.
Loki is literally carrying the mcu at this point-
As I recall, they were obligated by the higher ups, them and star wars, to announce things way in advance, likely as a means to support the falling stock price. A lot of this was due to Bob Chapek taking control of marvel out of Kevin Feige's hands and put into the hands of wall street bankers. I'm pretty sure if he was still in charge, they would have announced Loki season 3+4 by now.
I've said it before, I'll say it again:
The ending felt like something straight out of Shin Megami Tensei, and I love it.
With our protagonist gaining godly powers and ascending to a throne of creation.
against all odds, the recurring villain, is now the hero trying to save MCU
When i was a young child :
i want to see my favourite heroes from Marvel, save life and saved the day again and again...
When your innocent had removed and now as an adult :
Loki had something that heroes can't do it, he's not bad, he just being misunderstood personality and identity crisis, wait he is not villian after all , a trickster (means can be bad or good) , you know just to make the world a better place and balance with shade of grey...
Man I still would have love if Loki and thor was able to reunite
Loki season 1 hit. A definite surprise but the fact they followed it up with another banger was really pleasant surprise both seasons kept me engaged and guessing what comes next.
All they needed was 2 years to cook and they delivered
I was hooked on Loki like I was hooked on Dare Devil and Punisher. My listing of MCU shows goes as follows: Loki, Dare Devil, Punisher, Moon Knight, Marvel's What If?, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Jessica Jones. I'd put Punisher higher than Dare Devil, but it only got two seasons and some episodes in Dare Devil. Would have loved to see more of Frank in his Punisher suit, but oh well.
It’s like poetry, sort of. it rhymes.
Loki was one of the best thing to come out of the mcu since Gaurdians 3 tge season finale was amazing
Despite a lot of recent MCU stuff being crap, I heard Loki season 2 was good. Not perfect but good and that it knows alot better what it should have been and its strengths being kinda a silly buddy cop scifi adventure. Low on adventure and more on plot but it still plays to the actors' strength and the aesthetic.
from Glorious Purpose to Glorious purpose, this story is complete, but... we could easily do a continuation under a new name and new characters. I think Sylvie and Mobius as the main characters of a sequel could be great, but.. which show?
Nah I think it's best they went to live their own lives
i appreciate the undertones and the message, i still feel like S1 was better. It was generally more relevant to both phase 4 and 5 while servicing loki's character. They threw out that relevance for character focus. Is fine but i was expecting more from the plot.
Yeah this is ironic. Loki S2 is the best disney marvel has to offer right now and it's just a simpler version of Legion (produced by FX but also available on D+)
My only BIG complaint with Season 2 is that the setup promised us this would be about the TVA preparing for the Kangs, but then it was brushed to the side for basically a technical problem and the variants of he who remains only got a little namedrop at the end.
February: The MCU is dead
May: The MCU is back
July: The MCU is dead
October: The MCU is back
How about just recognise that they'll be some great, some bad and some that're just fine, so you don't have to make sweeping statements every 3 months.
I think the issue is the quality control is not there. When its good its good- but the issue is when its bad its really bad.
Loki season 2 should be a wake-up call for Marvel.
I love this story telling in Loki, and I’m curious how it is going to affect other ‘Multiverse’ stories. A big one that I’m looking at right now is “What If..?” and how The Watcher may be a result of Loki, rather than a situation where the story is treated just like that, where The Watcher looks at the TVA and laughs, going “man, isn’t that crazy? How he thinks he made the multiverse whole? Anywho, let’s go back to Steve Rogers becoming president.”
I hope that we see these come together in a beautiful way, rather than an ugly rendition
Amazing video easy bro!!
i do believe the show needed more episodes per season to help develop loki and the others more but yeah it's really good
I just loved this show!!!
im glad that his arc ended well
need more
Has anyone seen a pattern with MCU projects this year:
Ant-Man & Wasp: Quantamania "MCU is dead"
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 "MCU is saved"
Secret Invasion "MCU is dead"
Loki season 2 "MCU is saved"
The Marvels "MCU is dead"
What if season 2 "MCU is saved"
Echo "MCU is saved"
or Deadpool 3 "MCU is saved"
When you dislike the current mcu project, just wait a few months for the next one to be amazed/shocked that MCU can deliver lol
but why when he is timeslipping he does see his past self but when he is controlling it, he suddently become his past self? by the way I loved that show deeply
because he can control it, he has the awareness, its two verisons of himself through time and one overcomes the other
its really sad when u hear ruin slayer is the rrason loki is still their.
i would.
you know exactly what i mean
But Loki has lived for centuries, maybe more, and he needs a looooooooooong rest on his new throne.
Loki should be able to interweave the timelines so he isn't stuck there
AOT and Loki season 2 coming at the same time?
Eren and Loki are the same character confirmed
Loki god of stories or Avenger Prime ?
20:52-21:13 PREACH
The seanson overall was nice, but the plot was kinda overcomplicated.
Maybe the real glorious purpose was the friends we made along the way :)
its so weird to be hit with a golden brick when marvel keep tossing shit since phase 4
Love this season
Sylvie was a horrible character in season 2. She did nothing but serve to extend the episodes length. Every scene, she would literally just appear out of nowhere, say she was gonna kill the TVA guy, got convinced not to, then left. Lots of the writing was also extremely lacking. Episodes would be like, okay good writing, then blam, some shitty ass writing halfway through. Overall I would say it was maybe one of the best Marvel TV shows, but damn, the writing fell off hard sometimes.
what if we can do take part on mcu with loki being the god of stories being able to fix mcus mistakes on any story what if they just like redo their failed shows till they are good/acceptable because loki enables this possability in a way now. That would be a cool way but chaotic at most to give the mcu freedom to fail till success. Still that would probably break our brains. They could now probably make like three different spider man movies of different timelines that happen at the same time now. I kinda do and do not want to see that.
I think they marvel put all the effort into loki, then everything else around it was handled by the newer teams. then Executives and bad new project managers biffed it.
don't forget to pirate the show guys, don't support Disney
This is why actors strikes also happen people don't support
@@Aluran being paid for their job is very different than viewcounts and subscriptions.
The female loki was completely useless, should have casted a prettier one

Haven't seen season two? So if you dare;)
Now he gets to stalk his friends as he makes time go on because his girlfriend destroyed it lol
I still think Ironman (2008) is the most accurate marvel movie to the comics.
Martinez Charles Moore Betty Miller Frank
this to me has been the only good thing from marvel since infinity war.
The ‘best’ of a *HORRIFIC* current MCU even though it sucks for the most part! Love Tom & Loki but not the show!
8:10 I quit and you should too
I dont think season 2 was good, this is what bothered me:
- Expanding the loom was first introduced in the first episode, and they archived nothing in the next 7 episodes and in the 8 fixing it wasnt working anyways
- The feelings between silvie and loki were completly ignored. She had no development for the whole season and was sidelined
- The thread of kang returning with his variants, we saw one which joined the TVA team and had no reason to be there.
- The kliffhanger of a kang controlled TVA was left behind within seconds of the new season
- Ramona Renslayer was teased to play a significant role as an antagonist and was degraded to transport a Book from A to B, trying to invade the TVA and failing almost immediatly. Her whole plotline in the end was unnecessary and contributed nothing. You could cut all of her scenes out and arrive nowhere
- General Dox: Same thing, contributed nothing. Her deleting branches was irrelevant scenes after it happened, she was killed and no one cared
- All the TVA staff being variants which was teased as this huge realization of Season 1, the TVA taking there lives, no one cared in season 2
I think there was much more they could have put in to this season, lots what S1 set up they did not finish and what they had in the season was to streched out
It was convoluted BS!
1. They needed a HWR variant to access the TVA loom to begin with. Also, there weren't 8 episodes.
2. Agreed
3. He had to be there because he wrote the book with Ouroborus.
4. That was not what was setup, these were all written with the intent of what happened in S2. That was fan expectation.
5. Renslayer was never teased to play a significant role. She went looking for 'free will' and that's that. I do agree tho, she didn't rlly do anything in season 2.
6. Agreed on General Dox
7. Nope, one of the final shots of the show is Mobius looking at his life he had.
Lul, a white guy is our only hope, ok. The Marvels was good, guess Ms Marvel can't save us, even though she has both bangles now? Spider-Man is still a thing going on, guess the nostalgia's over after NWH? Echo looks nuts, gonna be gritty and cool, Daredevil coming back, properly. The Young Avengers is starting, but ig they couldn't save us either. Kang must be one helluva bad guy compared to the comics, nice big bad energy, if Loki's the only hope.
Loki is the MCU version of Jesus Christ.
Marvels 😂😂
I think Odin knew Loki’s purpose but he didn’t want to tell him because it would have changed Loki’s ultimate purpose.
Literally the season 2 should ve been 2 or 3 episodes at max. It is a huge snooze fest of a season. Something happens in 1st ep gets "resolved" then 2nd one brings another problem and by the end of the 2nd I was extremely bored. The episode 6 sure... after Loki decides to "time slip" back into the room with He Who Remains that was the shit. From that point on it was a clear win for this season. But until episode 6???? There were She Hulk level of fillers and moments that could ve easily been swapped out. The timepiece episode with Victor? Cut it.. hes useless anyway.. Loki gathering back the team after the first timeloom fail.. CUT IT. THE WHOLE ASS MIDDLE SEASON COULD VE BEEN CUT TO AN EPISODE WITH MONTAGES JUST LIKE IN EPISODE 6 OF THEM FAILING AND LOKI REALISING HE WILL KEEP LOOSING UNTIL HE FINDS HIS GLORIOUS PURPOSE.
On another note, i watched it with a friend being excited to bingewatch the whole season 2 and by the end of episode 3 we closed the show. I continued to watch it purely out of curiosity not entertainment or anything else. Great finale but the road to it... painful to watch.
Eh. Still don't care. Loki should have stayed dead.
stay mad moonknight better
I mean I like Moon Knight too! Haha
“You either die a villain, or you live long enough to see yourself become the hero.”

@@ionaskualexander1255yes but it's basically Loki's story
This is one of if not the BEST redemption arcs for any character. Right up there with Zuko's redemption arc.
Looking forward to Netflix Avatar next yr !!! 🎉 I’m so hopeful that it doesn’t suck …
You desperately need to seek out more stories if you think this is peak redemption arc writing
@@Cloudaddy220 But it is...
@@Cloudaddy220could you give us some examples? I'd love to read/watch more
@@edgbarra Shantaram is always my go to example, a fictional story based on the true events of the Australian author who used to be a bank robber so he could buy drugs, he ended up breaking out of jail, making his way to Bombay India where he joins up with the mob for work as he learns to adapt to his new life in this new place while also trying to find new meaning in his life to keep him from going down a self destructive path again. Absolutely fantastic stuff
From "I AM burdened WITH GLORIOUS PURPOSE!" to " I AM BURDENED WITH glorious PURPOSE ." Season 2 was awesome.
Now why did you have to lie like that
This season had several scenes that I’ll be watching over and over again for years. The beautiful wordless god of stories finale sequence, “let time pass,” silvie’s velvet underground spaghetti jam sesh from end of ep 5. This is the best doctor who has ever been by far haha.
Also the scene where loki and the world is dissapearing all around him and you get to hear a montage of former quotes from other characters Loki met then you hear the last one of Sylvies voice saying "do you think what makes a Loki a Loki is the fact that we are destined to lose" right before he reverses time always gets me. I rewatched that scene like 20 times. I never see anyone else bring it up. That scene hit me in the feels the most and i loved how artistic and poetic it was. I wish other would bring it up.
I hadn't caught that! I also loved that when he time slips back to the TVA for the last time, the PA says "welcome, He Who Remains"
I think its very telling that two of the most successful Post-Endgame MCU projects, GotG Volume 3 and Loki, both feel super diffrent compared to the rest of the boring, predictable, tropey movies and series that have been rolling out of Marvel Studios the last few years.
You hit the nail on the head when you said that the old movies all had their own distinct style and as a result they all felt unique. I think Disney Corporate basically created a MCU 'mold' that takes successful aspects from all previous movies, combines them together and now they try to fit every unique story into that generic mold. Nothing feels special anymore because the basic plot of all these projects are structured exactly the same, which is why stuff like Loki and Guardians, that shatter that mold, feel like the old MCU. Absolutely loved this series and hopefully Marvel will realize stuff like this is what we all want
You sure movies like Eternals (sci-fi creation myth), Shang chi, (martial arts/fantasy film) Spider-Man No Way Home (Young Adult), Black Panther Wakanda Forever (Afro-futurism) didn't have their own distinctive styles? or shows like Wandavision (sitcom), Falcon & Winter solider (political action/thriller), Loki (time-travel/sci-fi), Hawkeye (XMas themed series) Werewolf by Night (black and white/supernatural /horror special) Guardians Holiday Special or Moon Knight (supernatural action/adventure) have their unique own spins of directing?
Man I just find it a shame that this had to come out during marvels huge downfall, cause these artist and creators poured a lot of heart and soul into this project to where they wrapped up not only the shows story, but Loki as a character I can only hope Marvel can learn from this and keep trusting their artist to flesh out their characters in the biggest way they can instead of studio cash grabbing, Tom Hiddleston gives my opinion, his best performance as Loki, and he’s one of my favorite actors in the mcu
But he didn’t play ‘Loki’ in this show much at all. Just a guy who works at the TVA. What the *REAL* shame is that this show didn’t know much about Marvel or the character of Loki at ALL!
@@ZyliceLiddell explain your take on it then
@@ZyliceLiddell There can be different interpretations of a character.
@Zylice Well, any random "guy at the TVA" did not have the skills and abilities of the God of Mischief, the ability to think outside the box, a long lifespan to learn everything, becoming more powerful with age and shouldering the entire multiverse.
It was chaotic but not unenjoyable. The last episode gave me chills as everything came together
Responding to the question below there’s so many things I can say, but for now, I’m gonna keep it simple and to the point the Loki series is just a small example of what a good show can be under marvel. What a good story can be when you focus on the individual characters journey, and forget about everything else that really isn’t so important maybe they’ll become important one day but it’s just enough to be good and how it really is just a simple as that I don’t know why this is so hard for the rest of the MCU to understand
Kang: For Us, For All Time Always.
Loki: For You, For All Of Us.
I loved Loki show and Im a fan of MCU but you summed up his story so well that I love it even more
Marvel needs to hire passionate creative team and let them have their own flair in their projects.
"I am burdened with glorious purpose" became "My purpose is glorious burden".
I was BLOWN away with season finale. It was subtle beautiful and triumphant story telling!
