This is a 1989 Ford F-350 CCLB dually with the 460 gas motor in it! It’s been sitting for a while and doesn’t want to start.
Sorry it’s such a long video, but it took us a long time to work on it and I wanted y’all to see as much of the process as possible.
Will we get it started? Is it worth the save?

Awesome! 👍 Can't wait to see the progress getting this beast back on the road. Most of these F-350's were diesels, very cool to see a 460 gas burner! But these engines are torque monsters Ford also put 'em in the B-series....dump trucks and buses. Very cool ride!

Love those old bricknose fords. Sister has a 90 with 22k original miles, but in single cab version with long bed. Crew cab kills me every time tho.. hope to see more!

22K original is awesome. We have a 90 Lariat 2 door 350 with the 460 with 45,000 original miles. It's amazing the torque that the engine has pulling an RV. Its like there is nothing behind you .

Starting fluid works a lot better then priming the gas pump

That’s a lot of truck for a girl. I’m 16 and I’ve got a 95 F250 w a 7.3 Powerstroke Turbo Diesel and that’s more than enough power. The truck is stock, with original injectors and with some lube in the fuel is runs a like a clock.

Blue door panel and steering wheel are from 80-86 truck and yours is 87-91
a pick up door fer shire off an older model, needs a Power window door upgrade

The truck is what I want for a f350 but I want it in a 4wd with a manual transmission in the long bed with the crew cab is perfect for me
Randy Owens as long as you don’t want a crew cab dually you should be fine, ford didn’t put 4x4 on crew cab duallys.

That is one nice truck! Yeah it needs some work, and maybe the right door and steering wheel (the one it has is from a 80-86 Ford) but that has a TON of potential!!
And from being right in the middle of the rust belt here in Pa seeing one of these so rust free is great and brings back some great memories
My late father had a very similar ‘88 F-350 SuperCab dually with the 7.3 diesel and the C-6 auto, so I admit I was hoping this was a diesel too, but hey the 460 is one hell of an engine too! Just really thirsty lol
What is crazy is that your dually is nearly the same exact color as the ‘93 dually dad got to replace the ‘88
This may be a bit long, but worth the read. The ‘88 was charcoal grey with a red two tone stripe down the side. Absolutely gorgeous!! And was a great truck, until it was hit. It’s an odd story of how it got hit, but I does have a happy ending.
Dad was at a wedding and he took the Econoline van as he had the wedding cake...side note, my stepmom had a baking business and baked the cake, so her and dad took it over early to set it up before the wedding started. Anyways, the ‘88 was sitting at the house and that evening a drunk woman attempted to kill herself by driving into the lake. Ethel Springs lake was right in the backyard. Well dads diesel was in the way, and ended up saving her life...albeit destroying her truck, a late 70s Ford F-100, and doing quite a bit of damage to dads truck. But thankfully other than some scrapes and bruises the woman was ok! And was a wake up call for her to clean herself up. Last I heard she has been sober ever since!
We fixed the dually but it would overheat when pulling heavy. New rad, water pump, trans cooler, etc, nothing fixed it. So in the spring of ‘93 dad special ordered a brand new truck. Was the one of the first 200 factory turbo 7.3 diesels Ford ever made! (Haha call me a dork but I think that is a cool lil tidbit of info lol)
This one dad ordered with a 5 speed and 4.10 gears, so about 75 mph was all she would do when she ran out of gears, but would pull a house off it’s foundation! And I still think that was the meanest sounding diesel pickup ever made!
Anyways, we got it in Bimini Blue with a Crystal Blue interior
And your truck is nearly identical in color! Makes me wonder if they used Bimini Blue on yours as well 🤔

Apologies for such a long comment, but I figured knowing a bit of history as to why some person on the internet is so enamored by your truck might be better than just saying “nice truck”

Ford only offered a 3 inch lift for this size of truck but yeah I sure you can put extra on a suspension lift.

@@michaelbenoit248 diesel engine would get better fuel mileage for a 3/4 ton or 1 ton pickup hands down
Joseph Pacelli, the pre emissions diesels get better mpg Thant the new ones. A good 7.3 can get 15-17MPG a 6.7 would get 9mpg Max, towing or not.

Don't U only go for Jeeps? It's better than any jeep. I agree about the no power windows. They are just more electrics to go wrong. I also agree older vehicles are better than new.definely worth saving. As U said. It works.

The pain of having dual gas tanks is you don’t know which one the truck is running off of
Huh? Wouldn't you just look at which one the switch is set to?
Top of switch pushed in, that's front. Bottom of switch pushed in, that's rear.
The fuel pumps have a check valve in them. If one of those wears out, it pushes the gas into the other tank🫤

TheUnlimited001 I was wondering the same thing since I saw it on jays channel. My guess is bad motor the 5.4 3v is known for oil pump failure.

With my 84 2.8L ranger when I run out of gas (No gas gauge) I have to use my siphon pump to get fuel to the carb.

It is multi port fuel injection. That is a throttle body not a carb
