- The Asus Prime B450M-A II is probably the cheapest AM4 motherboard that you can buy NEW. It has most inputs a motherboard should have and it even comes with a 12V RGB header for all your RGBling needs. At the time of purchase the price was about €55 on Amazon.

Is the orange light strip meant to be blinking?
Hey, thanks for the question. There is an option in the BIOS and I think the LED can blink/breathe, be turned ON or OFF. However, the change is not applied immediately and will only be visible once you save and reboot. You might be able to change the LED state if you use some lighting software.
@ thank you :)
I recently bought from bestbuy off ebay and for some reason in the descripsion it said it only supports 3000 series. I have a ryzen 5 5600 so would i have to buy a 3000 series to update it or should it come already supporting the 5000 series?
Hey. That is a bit strange. I can't say for certain, usually it says on the box something like "Ryzen 5000 ready", but if it was old stock it's possible it has older bios version. Only way to find out is to try it.
@ okay thank you if it ends up not working i guess i will get a older processor and update it then resell that
I know that AMD would send you a CPU to do the upgrade, but I don't know if this is still the case
You can just update the Bios to make it support 5000 series@@evan88383
I’m using both my m.2 and Sata ssd and it works great? Used the pci 1x for additional usb and type c connections with my case
That is a great use case for the pcie slot, thanks for sharing. No doubt the SATA SSD works great, as it should. However, if you look into the motherboard specification, you will see that SATA port 5 and 6 don't work while the m.2 slot is populated.

bro my Xpg m.2 nvme doesn't work in my motherboard b450 m-a ii.
Hey. This shouldn't be drive specific but do let me know the exact model you have. As for what you can do:
- go to bios and check if the motherboard sees the drive
- if it doesn't you can update the BIOS version
- if you do see the drive in bios but not the OS, in Windows you can search for disk manager and initialize the drive.
Let me know how it goes.
Hey man, do you know if this motherboard support Bios Flashback ?
Hey, thanks for the question. I didn't mention it but the board does have bios flashback. If you look at the user manual you will see that you have to press the bios flashback button, which is on the back of the IO, for 3 seconds to enable it. Do note that there is only 1 USB slot that supports the bios flashback. I suggest you go to the Asus website and search for the product manual for detailed information.
Question, I have that motherboard, do you know if I can install a m.2 pcie 4.0?
Hey there. Yes you can install it as all the drives are backwards compatible. However, if you're also wondering about speeds, this motherboard's m.2 slot only supports PCIe 3.0 x4 speeds, meaning about 4000MB/s read/write, so a faster drive than that will not be able to run at full speeds.

I just bought this board and it says it supports Ryzen 5000. Do I need to downgrade the BIOS to get it to work with Ryzen 1700x?
Hey, from what I see on Asus website under the CPU support for this motherboard you shouldn't need to downgrade based on official info. It says the *BIOS version* has to be *equal or higher* than version *0219* in order for the 1700x CPU to work. That BIOS version is the first one and it came out in 2018, so I doubt any newly bought board comes with that version installed.
TL:DR No you don't need to downgrade.
does it come with wifi or do you need to have a connection
Heya, this board does not come with wifi. If a board has wifi it will be a part of the model name. Also note that wifi boards are more expensive, in which case a wifi card or USB dongle might be cheaper, but it depends on your needs and budget.
hey man can i ask what was the pre-installee bios?
Sure thing, I haven't updated the bios since my system runs fine. The bios version my board came installed with is 4202, which came out in 31/7/2023, and the latest version that came out just recently is 4622, from 14/11/2024.
Does this mainbourd accept windows 11
You can use Windows 11 on this board. However, to be able to do that, you may first need to go into the BIOS and make 1 change as described on the Asus website www.asus.com/microsite/motherboard/asus-motherboards-win11-ready/
What is this for an english accent? Must be scottish or something...
You're the 2nd person in like 20years to point out the Scottish accent. I don't know any Scott to verify it, but I'll gladly say there's a 1% Scott in me
@@jackalldiytech So is it the scottish accent? The r is the same as the german prussian r from East Prussia. If we speak english we tend to fall into the scottish accent since that is closer to the East Prussian way of saying the r.
Prussia is gone by now but we still speak the danziger low german dialect and so as an foreign english speaker we tend to fall into the scottish accent. As well the baltic states would speak english like the scotts.
Just a curiosity I noticed.
Your english accent really stands out differently from any other YT channels accent.
I honestly do not know as I have never looked into Scottish accent, the one that mentioned this to me was my English teacher, so she could have been on to something. Also, thanks for the interesting historical/geographical insight.
Does it have argb?
It has a 12V RGB 4 pin connector (for rgb led strips and such), but it doesn't have a 5V ARGB 3 pin connector. Depending on what you would like to do, just connect some ARGB fans or also control them with software. If it's the former, then you can use a sata to 3pin 5V ARGB adapter (it has some built in lighting presets), if it's the latter then you can use an ARGB hub that comes with included software.
