    HOW I MIRROR FINISH A BAR
    I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.

      Where were the actual lamps themselves made. not all of them come from China, plus you still find decades old ones running in factories, where they can have as origin a whole host of countries. Those lamps look like GE, Phillips or Osram made units.

    It's strange how million dollar productions do nothing, but a guy doing teardowns and melting is a highlight of my week. Thank you, sir.
    At 42:12 you ask for suggestions for the glass panels, how about some additions to the treasure hold. Could be used for pictures that fit, but maybe take designs you use regularly (Your BSD stamp, the skull and crossbones, etc.) and line them over the shelves.

    @Logan_0203 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    Dude I love that window sticker on your car 😆

  • @Mriya6
    @Mriya6 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +62

    Note about the glass panels: Don't put them in the recycling bin, not even the glass recycling bin if you have one. Window glass is a different grade from the glass used in bottles and jars, with a different melting temperature, and it contaminates the glass smelting process. Even wine glasses and drinking glasses can't go in the recycle bin for the same reason. The only glass you should recycle is beer/wine bottles and jars. Window glass, drinking glasses, and especially Pyrex glass, all contaminate the recycling process. Just throw them in the landfill bin!
    If you were really committed to reusing them, I'd suggest seeing if there's any artisans or glassblowers near you that might want them. Possibly a framer could cut squares out of them to use for picture frames? I'm not a glass expert, just a recycling expert.

    The glass you can turn into porch tables if they are thick enough. You could even double them up to make them strong if they are too thin for that.
    The Magpies nickname i would suggest is "Smelter", since he is nosy = smell so Smelter. He is also probably looking for goodies which means he is trying to extract food from you. Smelting is extracting metal from Ore but in bird form it is extracting food from human!

    I used a nibbler to cut sheet metal panels for quite a few years. It was easy and quick but probably not the best way to get the job done. What I remember the most about using that tool was constantly pulling smiley faces of metal from the bottom of my boots. They were sharp enough to eventually work their way thru the sole and cut the bottom of my feet. Name the bird Atticus

    You really need to get an industrial shredder. Save your prep time and they're very satisfying to watch.

    The glass rounds, send them to a neighbor of yours like "pask makes" they would make a great piece for a scrap wood challenge. As for the bird, name him "Slag" he's always floating around on top.

    I like the short BigStackD nature intermissions in videos, there’s always a new critter featured!
    Random nickcame came to mind for the magpie: Pudgie 😂.

    You could totally make those glass circles into a couple end tables. I have a couple that are made out of wood with glass tops

    1) you know you could put 15 minutes of dog-time in each video and we’d watch every minute of it, right?
    2) agreeing with another poster here, Slag would be a great name for the bird.
    3) thanks for another great video, BSD!

    42:13 you could either make some fancy looking end stands using the glass as the tops, ir perhaps add porthole windows to either the workshop or shipping container.

    Magnum for the Magpie.
    For the glass, make small side tables or etch the puppies images into them. One each and one together. The 4th one, their paws

    Nice blowtorch hack for getting the plug prongs out
    When breaking down stuff like those ballasts, be sure to wear your PPE. Lots of epoxy and stuff on there that will make harmful dust.
