Kenton is a giant, a passionate voice that was unique and balls out, always. Kenton was one of the most interesting, adaptable, and fearless bandleaders this side of Ellington.
Whoever put this doco together did a wonderful job, it would have taken countless hours of work of a love for SKs music. Sounds to me like SK wrote it, with Franks superb reading adding to it. Any credits on the box or label?
This is put together very weird. There are photos that don't have anything to do with the dialogue. There's even a photo of Dizzy Gillespie's orchestra. You basically don't know what you're doing.

This particular episode was later used for the 4-LP boxed set called “The Kenton Era” on the Capitol label in 1955 called “Prologue”.
