Thanks for the video James I love my Avenger 85 it's totally stock I use it for cruising. I definitely want to get the menace it's a torque monster from what I've heard and pretty powerful I was thinking about putting that on an old beach cruiser my Avenger is on my felt faker . Yer boy from Canada ET 😎👍🇨🇦
Really cool Grendel! Sometimes I'll put a drop of three in 1 oil between the gap on the clutch into that ball bearing ring, key is a DROP any more the centrifugal force will spit it all out.
Its a great to check the squish and set it right for all new engines. To get that proper reading we need to think about where we are taking the measurement from. We know if we take the reading from the intake or exhaust side the piston has a tendency to be able to have false readings due to the rotation around the pin. If we can agree this makes sense then we can also agree than we we take the squish on the transfer sides we need to make a U type pattern with horns so we get the squish from both transfer sides to account for the play in the piston pin. The most accurate would be taking all 4 sides at the same time, I use playdoh for that but its not really needed for your type of engine. Your running a China bottom and crank, you need to be above 1mm squish. 0.6 will lead to failure 100% for sure with China parts. I run 0.8 on cnc precision parts minimum. Like you said, your not compressed yet. It wont compress fully until the engine is cycled a few times and retorqued. Would be a fun video to run the engine for a while and check the squish again. I think you might be surprised.
Thank you very much for that well thought information 😀 👍. Very well done. Can't wait to see how this motor runs. I think your right about making an update video after the engine runs for a bit to see how much the gaskets compress. I'm very interested now! Ride safe!
@@MedicWillCA .8 is perfectly safe for these engines but we send them out with bigger squish to be safe for everyone. These put out enough power out of the box that we can sacrifice a tiny bit of power with the larger squish and be reliable and safe. We did .6 on the dyno. Ran 26 hard pulls on the dyno and it was just barely tapping the head on the last pull..I think with the 1.2 squish that most say is to much is perfectly fine for an engine that can make over 8hp.
You should consider building a hybrid engine. Like a 70cc athena sport, should be able to turn 12-13k rpm depending on gearing. I can link you some pipes I would recommend. Or if you want to save money, a ported iron minarelli
I bought a mxs racing jug and build an engine with that, with a 42 stroke billet crank. I'm hoping to see more or less 15k rpm. Also bought a stage6 streetrace pipe for it. Both for $500 total.
Hell yeah, brother!!! I'm thinking about building a minarelli down the road 🤔. I'm working on a new frame right now. My orange 🍊 frame has a bad crack, so it's toast. Honestly, I'm kinda saving up for some welding equipment so I can reinforce the frame and weld some pips up. You're a dam good content maker, brother! Your builds have been super impressive 👏 keep up the hard work 💪. I will hit you up if I need some help for sure! 🎉🎉thank you very much🎉🎉
@@grendelsgarage9723 thanks man I appreciate it. Actually tbh I would recommend a real steel felt frame. They are good sturdy frames. A second generation felt fat tire frame is the best from what I was told. The top tube looks sick and can be a custom tank. I bought a monster paint one, I plan to do a whole new build with it, and make a video on it. I'm thinking two part 1 and 2 videos, that engine build and then bike build. I'm so stoked. Anyway, yeah you can do a minarelli build. With a pumper carb I was able to get mine to turn 11500 rpm or something like that on 36T going 55mph. Ported (kinda messed it up) of course. Actually, you can just build a pre-built minarelli engine from CMB, and do upgrades/mods to it, replace the bearings, balance and true the crank, port the cylinder, upgrade head, and more.
Hell yeah, brother!!! 😎 I can't wait to see that video!!! It will be sick! I've been keeping my eyes out for a felt faker, but dam bro, people in this area want 700 for them! I'm working on a frame right now that's an imitation faker. Old still dropouts with a 1" steering tube, but she is thick steel 😊. I've been looking at the CMB minarelli for a bit know but got sidetracked by this Menace 85 😂😂😂. I still need to learn how to balance a crank. It's a time issue being a father now, plus hella overtime at work 😒 😑 🙄 🙃. I ordered the pupmer carb you recommend. I just need to get to work on the concept. Again, I'm thinking about getting into welding, so I need to balance the old pocket book, 😂😂😂. 🎉🎉🎉 ride safe brother 🙏
@@grendelsgarage9723 $700? For a prebuilt I hope? Gomax felt faker is $150 on sale right now. I spent more money on other parts which cost me like a grand in total (besides the suspension fork since it was sent to me for free). Balancing the crank is actually easy. Someone made a calculator specifically for these chinadoll cranks, 4 calculators in one. Do you have any social I can dm you on? facebook? discord? Did you just get a baby? If so congrats
7.37hp with 2 base gaskets 1.2mm squis bad tune. 8.3 hp with 2 base gaskets ,1.2mm squish, ngkbr8hs and proper tune. 9.2hp with 1 base gasket .6 squish , Mikuni tm24 carb, ngkbr8hs plug.
Getting good on those motors! 🧐

I use the green pads in my menace work good
Perfect 😄 because I have some green 💚 pads coming in tomorrow.cant wait! Ride save!

Thanks!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 hey, do you oil or grease? I might shot a little grease in there, but I'm not sure, hahaha 😅😅
@@grendelsgarage9723 I use 3 in 1 oil on the chain clutch bearing and brake levers. Red tacky grease on literally everything else that moves.
@furmaster212 awesome 👌! I use red grease on everything as well. I using up what I have then going to switch to something better 😌
Get the green pads and you won't be disappointed 👍😁
Yes, Sir! I ordered the green 💚 😎 ones. Should be in Friday.
@@grendelsgarage9723 Use the ones that came with the motor. They might be good. Just trim them to fit better 👍🏾😁
@@mybikes1970I should have tried them 😅😅😅. But I just got the green pads instead. Can't wait!
omg i do the goldmember "tight like a tiger" thing all the time too 😭
Looks awesome brother yeah I'm like you grendel best be safe than sorry I would go 2 base gasket she's going to fly
Thanks Mike 👍 yep going fast is cool, but a long-lasting engine is why cooler 😎. I'm always happy with 1.0 to 0.8.
🚴💥💨💨🤟 nice bud
Thanks brother 🙏!!!

Do you have a full open exhaust that's where decking the cylinder raising it up to get a full exhaust and a good squish that's where that comes in
Brother! Yep, full open exhaust! Good point 👉. I should make a video 📹 showing how the ports look with the piston in. 🎉🎉
👍
